Im sure the movie was great for its time but it doesnt hold up now

Mad Max is a boring movie not what I expect it to be.

Despite some goofiness here and there, I really appreciate this first film in one of the best trilogies ever.

George Miller's original Mad Max may not have the trappings of a post-apocalyptic future dystopia running on fumes and hell-bent on destruction that have become so familiar in the 3 later films of the series and 35 years since its creation, but what does have in spades are the basic elements of the classic tale of good vs. evil and what happens when good men do bad in order to fight back. Don't expect the bizarre costumes and cars of The Road Warrior and Beyond Thunderdome, and take it for what it is- a classic revenge tale against a wasteland backdrop. Shout Factory's new transfer looks and sounds great with some decent features like interviews and commentaries, but the best upgrade for US fans is the film's original dialogue soundtrack with Mel Gibson's voice and not the lame dubbing available for years as the only option.

'Mad Max' is a great movie not necessarily for what it was, but for what it would become. That is, the cornerstone for the best trilogy in movie history in my opinion (thus far). You don't agree with me? Just read famed movie critics Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert's reviews on the three Mad Max films and you'll see exactly where I'm coming from. An excellent story teamed with top-notch action and unmatched stuntwork lay the foundation in this first exhilarating film of the series. Very cool bonus features and several different viewing options make this special edition well worth owning.

Mad Max is a non-stop, edge of your seat thrill ride! This is the Blu-ray collection this cult classic deserves! Shout Factory did a great job with the extras and the HD transfer. Prepare to be entertained!

I've alway preferred this movie to the sequels as good as they are. A lot of people didn't meet the character until The Road Warrior and this gives Max's backstory.
