Mad Max: Fury Road is a wonderful home viewing experience already but 3D takes it to a new level. If you own a 3D HDTV & compatible Blu-Ray player, pick this one up - You won't regret it.

The Mad Max series is finally enjoying a long awaited (30 years!) return to form (or is it?). Fury Road brings our titular hero back into the spotlight where he deserves to be. This time around Mel Gibson has been replaced with fan favorite actor Tom Hardy (Inception, Warrior, The Dark Knight Rises). Not only was Hardy a perfect cast from the aesthetic standpoint (looks very much like a younger Mel Gibson in the movie) but the way he plays the character makes it feel like he's been doing it forever.
The supporting cast was anything but lost in this one. In fact many people will say they stole the show (mostly because of Hardy's more limited role). Theron turns in an excellent performance as the Imperator Furiosa and raises the bar of the female hero almost to the levels of Sigourney Weaver's Ellen Ripley from the Alien movies. Nicholas Hoult (Google him) plays someone that hardly resembles him or anything else he's done and does a great job making you feel conflicted about his character Nux.
Chaotic and brutal, those are the two most defining words to describe this movie. The action in this film is so intense and so constant the minutes in between scenes where it slows down (albeit with an uneasy tension) are just enough for you to catch your breath. Don't be fooled by the extravagantly improbable scenes. Most of which you see in this film was ACTUALLY done (not CGI). Many, if not all of the race scenes are all done with professional drivers and stunt people, making the movie just that much more incredible
George Miller (who also directed the first 3 movies) returns to re-create his dry and desolate world and fill it with vile villains and heroic heroes.
This is Mad Max for the new era.

I liked this movie. I t was well made and entertaining, but it didn't really feel like a Mad Max movie as much as I'd hoped for. Tom Hardy just didn't seem like th best choice to play Max, but it still fun to watch. Not bad in 3D either...

The story was good but not great, but it have strong backstory about main character. The special effects is not bad. The audio was loud and great on my 5.1 Audio System. I can see the world was so detailed. Overall, this movie was enjoyable.

Outstanding movie from beginning to end. This bluray does not have much features but the transfer itself is very sharp and the sound mixing is topnotch. 10/10!

Wow what a movie, George Miller (like a fine wine) has perfected his craft over all the years the Mad Max franchise has been left untouched, and 'Fury Road' may well be his Magnum Opus. I didn't really know what I was watching, or what to expect, all I know is I liked it! From start to finish, this movie is one non-stop, action-packed, explosive (literally) chase that barely gives the viewer a moment to catch their breathe. That's not to say it only appeals to the mindless popcorn flick fans, as there is much more going on, but 'Fury Road' is a little light on expository dialogue.
And that's perfectly fine! For those interested in the philosophical themes and implications of the film, look no further than the classic tale of the oppressed being freed and getting revenge on their tormentors. Furiosa is a strong lead character in an era when Hollywood pushes for strong female characters but often fails. You just wait for Charlize Theron's Best Lead or Supporting Actress Oscar Nomination. The titular character Max does play second fiddle to Furiosa, but that shouldn't detract from your enjoyment of this masterpiece in any way.
*SPOILERS* As for the 'wow moment' when I was really sold on 'Fury Road': Mauraders are pole vaulting over Furiosa's war rig, dropping fire bombs onto the engine compartment. The front end of her vehicle goes up in flames and we think all is lost for our heroes when the booming overture comes in. Furiosa pulls a lever and drops the 'scoop' on her war rig's front end into the desert sand. This kicks up a huge cloud of dirt and sand, covering the front end of the vehicle, and putting out the fires as the overture continues increase in volume and our heroes escape unscathed. If that doesn't make you want to watch 'Fury Road', I don't know what will.

For a movie based on an already established franchise, this movie holds up well. The special effects are the supreme stars in this film, with barely any CGI used. If you like explosions and grittiness, this movie is for you.

Mad Max is legend as a film icon and a monument to world building ambition. From the first film, Miller was creating a much larger concept and limited only by budget and practicality. Modern filmmaking techniques and materials have finally made Miller's vision a reality.
As a film, Fury Road excels. It is, in a word, Art. Magnificent cinematography makes every moment Worthy of framing as a print. Miller's devotion to practically driven effects lends an abiding realism to every inch of the film. The ludicrous customized vehicles still impress and fascinate, and multiple viewings lead to another new discovery of extra detail worked into each. The soundtrack by Junkie XL was frenetic, grand, and morose, completely apropos to the moment. It sounded closer to the work of icons like Hans Zimmer and Danny Elfman than you would expect from an artist much better known for electronic dance music. The characterization of even the smallest role, through costuming, dialogue jargon, and even body language, makes each standout.
Tom Hardy plays a very understated Max, in the unenviable position of walking in Mel Gibson's shoes, and exudes the air of a once comfortable and loved family dog gone just this side of feral. Charlize Theron's Furiosa is a female action hero worthy of the company of Sigorney Weaver's Ripley, a character with a depth and nobility that is compelling and intriguing.
Together they combine into an immersive and completely coherent whole. All too often when a director revisits his earlier material it tends to go wrong (the Star Wars prequels, Prometheus) instead of right. This has gone right.
