Sequels generally have a tendency to be half as good as the original, but in this case Madagascar 3 has a refreshingly new look, same level of energy and humor with its cast of characters, and a vibrant backdrop of a circus. The cast of characters - Marty, Alex, Gloria, and and Melman - decide to leave Africa and go back to New York, but need the penguins help to fly back, the penguins are as hilarious as they have been. With the penguins in Monte Carlo, there begins their adventure. They run into the devious Captain Chantal Dubois is the head of animal control in Europe who is called for help. She is a little too serious about her job and wants to mount the heads of the animals, particularly Alex the lion's, on her wall as trophies. She brings delightful humor with her ways! In a way she reminded me of the "Bad Kitty" eastern European lady from NY in part 2. The scenes with her are very funny. The lemur king Julian falls in love with the bear at the circus and he is entertaining as always, the very talented Sacha Baron Cohen has done a remarkable job with this character. The animals join a circus in an attempt to get away from Dubois. A number of new characters are introduced here who are part of the circus. This is where the movie picks up pace and bursts with color, and makes it a joy watching in 3D. This has to be one of the best 3D treats our family has seen this year across Ice Age, Brave, and The Lorax. The overall plot of the film is not as strong or content-rich as the first one, but the vivid colors and brilliant scenes make this as much a treat to watch as the previous two films. Madagascar 3 is fun for the entire family, kids and adults alike.

great movie for all the family, very funny and not crude

I bought this to sample 3d on a new Sony 70" set. The video did not disappoint! It is no wonder most of the newer 3D releases are of animated features, they can produce outstanding effects. The story is good as well, Suitable for all ages. Adults, don't be turned off by the animation, it's a fun story for the whole family. No family - you will still get a few chuckles from this feature.

Madagascar 3. Love watching this series with the kids, each movie is great. Great cast, storyline and is an awesome comedy with a great ending as always. The penguins are always hilarious. Loved the Afro-Circus Polk-a-Dot song, had us cracking up! I bet the writers/producers/directors/actors are a blast to party with!

The 3D effects in this movie are great and makes it fun to watch with my 9 year old daughter and her friends! This is what 3D is about. Some other movies say they are but have no real jump out at you scenes, which is very disappointing! But this one does not disappoint!! This is a must have for your 3D collection!

I love animation and missed quite a bit of my childhood. I love to enjoy some wholesome entertainment that brings back an age of innocence and if, by chance, there is subtle or underlying adult references, it fulfills that niche, too.

My kids (ages 11 and 3) and I enjoyed the previous Madagascar movies so we were really looking forward to this one. The bad character in the movie, the animal control officer, was a bit scary and over the top for the younger kids. Dead animal heads (including cats and dogs) could possibly be a bit disturbing to them. The overall movie however was very good. The songs have the little ones dancing along with them.

Last in the series, the film spans multiple continents. The characters banter and actions are fully enjoyable. The persistent law enforcement character was also enjoyable too. It is a nice film to share with the family.

This was my favorite Madagascar movie. The circus parts of the movie was so cool to watch. My kids love this movie and they watch it a lot. I love ordering movies from best buy they come in the mail so fast and they are packaged great.

Awesome movie in 3D. I thought I had seen it all, I was mistaken. This movie was hilarious and my grandkids told me I wouldn’t be disappointed. They were right. Great funny family movie. A must see.

This series is adorable! Just when I thought things couldn't get better, Madagascar 3 comes up with another way to share as a family. My grandkids love it, my teenagers love it, I love it, my parents love it -- multigenerational fun!

I really had fun watching this with my kids. after the movie they couldn't stop singing circus Afro circus Afro. It was one of the most funny movies in my life!

My kids have this in the car whenever we are driving around, and not only do they love watching it, I actually find it humorous as well. Well worth the cheap price we picked it up for.
