Madden 16 has greatly improved from last year. The new catching mechanics where you can make possession, aggressive, and Run after Catch catches puts it well above the previous versions . To help on defense you can choose to play the ball now or the receive. Each with its own risk reward. The graphics and New tackling animations make it feel even more realistic. The on screen overlays make it feel more like a tv broadcast, but the commentators are still dull and dry. But this is the best Madden to date, hands down

Graphics have improved for next gen but commentary has not. From time to time they call out players such as Golden Tate when I'm playing as the Seahawks (who plays for the Bengals) and Santonio Holmes when I play as the Steelers (who plays for the Jets). Haven't tried MUT, but I've tried connected franchise with a few friends and although it is fun, you can just throw up bombs to Antonio Brown or AJ Green, the defenders will just stand there and watch them catch it. A is very questionable and difficulty was on All Pro. Hopefully, improvements will be made in future patches.

This is the first madden i have bought since madden 12. Which was very bad. This is definitely an upgrade and plays alot better than the maddens on the seventh generation consoles (ps3, xbox). However I still think some of the older maddens and nfl 2k5 were more enjoyable because the AI is still not as good as in the sixth generation days (ps2, xbox, gamecube) especially cornerback and saftey coverage. But atleast EA got back in the right direction. The juke system used to be simplier, like juke left, right, and spin but were more useful because they were quick movements and you could juke the moment you needed to. The juke system is now more advanced, but the jukes take to long to develope, you have to anticipate when you need to juke in order to get it right. Which works if you do get it right. But because of the slow juke it allows other defenders to easily catch up and its hard to string together multiple jukes, like in the old Maddens. Your usually limited to one fake out then tackled by another defender. Which hurts the running game, which relies on jukes. The graphics are very impressive and is the strong point of the game. And I noticed many features in this game were copied from the FIFA soccer series like ultimate team, which is nice if you have the time to play it. So there is no shortage of content. I like how you can now control how the wide receiver catches the ball. For example run after catch, aggressive catch. Wide receiver play is another strong point of the game. Once you get in the open field, the wide receiver movernment is very fluid and easy to control and once you get up to speed, its easy to get by defenders. Because the juke system is slow, its pretty much useless once you catch the ball. I found just running as fast as possible and using the joy stick was more effective. The new catch system does hurt you on short quick throws a bit because you dont have much time to mash the catch button to get the receiver to catch the ball and react the best way. So i think ea could improve there because if you dont push the catch button, its as if the receiver does not know what to do and the catch will not be as clean and its hard to get the receiver to move or protect the ball after the catch. Overall the game is an improvement, which is alot better than I could say about many of the recent Maddens. I give it Four stars because i would say its now just a little bit behind the old nfl 2k, and old maddens in gameplay.

I usually buy the new Madden every year for the updated rosters and not so much for the upgraded gameplay. The reason for this is because EA never really upgrades the game play significantly from year to year. Well folks, that all has changed with Madden 16. Not only did they revamp the receiving game by giving you 3 different options on how to catch the ball instead of just one, they gave the defensive backs more power to defend the improved receiving game as well. These changes are difficult to get used to at first since Madden has had the same controls for the last 5 years, but with a little time the transition will be seamless and you will have many more playmaking opportunities within the gameplay. Along with the great new playmaking ability, the graphics bring the whole game together. With new face recognition software, EA Sports scans each individual NFL player’s face. Throughout the year they update the player’s faces in the game to look exactly like they do in real life. The in-game tackling graphics are a lot more life-like than in previous years as well. With all of the great new upgrades this year’s Madden has it is hard to find flaws in the game but here are a couple things that could have been improved • The game takes longer than average to start-up and load completely • When you first purchase the game it makes you watch/play a game tutorial that must be finished before you get access to the rest of the game • Unless you pay $20 extra, you start with a really awful Madden Ultimate Team Overall I am very pleased with Madden 16. The new receiver playmaking ability and enhanced graphics make this year’s Madden a must own if you are a football fan.

Madden 16 is an excellent step in the right direction for the Madden franchise. For too many years it has been all about speed among players. Now, with quarterbacks being able to modify their throws low or high, receivers and cornerbacks fighting for the ball (making tall possession receivers relevant again), and a greatly improved sense of player momentum and blocking holes for running backs, thus year is the best Madden, for me, since 2009.

Has some good updates to the passing and receiving aspects. The trainer is very in-depth this year and breaks all the off/def schemes down to the basics and works it's way up, giving you great knowledge of any off/def you like to play. MUT is back and is okay, no big upgrades here. A new game play option is interesting. Draft champions allows you to draft players from a selected pool and lets you play the CPU or other players online for MUT rewards. Announcers still suck but thats Madden for you. Overall: 8/10

I still don't understand why they have to come out with a new title every year. I think roster updates and the occasional patch would suffice. I have to say they didn't screw this year up though. That was my only hope that it wouldn't be worse than last year's. Graphics are nice and if you've played Madden before you should be right at home with this title. There are some improvements but it's still not perfect. I would suggest going through the skills trainer to become familiar with the controls.

best madden yet - soundtrack is pretty epic as well - beware of the addicting Lunchmoney Lewis song on the soundtrack... not on iTunes and will be stuck in your head for days... But as for the game the graphics and features are by far my favorite for any of the madden games released and I have owned every madden game released since N64 and the game has certainly come a long way (although I do miss the ability to be able to run into field-goal posts and fall over as well as obnoxiously sit offsides on defense and sack the QB upon-snap but that's just dumb freedom i seldom wish was still I could do for times when I am sincerely bored... Anyways, the ability to buy/trade/sell players as if they were stocks and "auction" them off is awesome and when building a team at first without spending literal human dollars via your playstation (or xbox etc) account funds you can really have fun not even playing football games by trying to get players for "a deal" at a good auction price and can sort your teams needs by positions, rating, etc to find the best player for your buck that will best improve your team - even has a "buy it now" feature where owners of players can list a Buy it Now price similar to eBay and instead of auctioning off to the highest bidder which can take a while you can sell for a price you set so the flexibility in the game play and team management is pretty endless to a large degree.

I've had this edition for a few days now and so far I have to say its definitely fun and somewhat different from past Madden games. Usually its just a roster update and one or two minor things that changed. But this year it seems a lot different....the passing, running, playing defensive and trying to jump in front for an INT, to kicking/punting. I'm still trying to get used to it, but so far its been a lot of fun and addictive. I'd def recommend it to give it a try.

Not normally the type of guy to buy Madden every year, decided to pick this one up to go along with my new PS4. Gameplay wise I think it's great, the rushing game feels good, the passing game isn't too easy to exploit like other games I've played in the pass and there's a good amount of gameplay modes available for people who like both straight football and fantasy. My main gripe is sometimes things like Franchise mode will not show the proper rosters for me.

I purchased 2 copies of this around Christmas so that I can play the connected franchise with my brother. The game looks great and I really enjoy all the features that allow my brother and I to control our own team and seasons when it is convenient for our schedules. Best Buy was running a buy 2 get 1 free deal stacked with 20% for Gamer's Club Unlocked and you can't beat it!

Madden is good, but you already knew that. The graphics are even better this year and the gameplay seems to be a little better. The new catching options I find to make it easier to catch balls that in previous years would never have been caught. Take that as a pro or a con. Aside from that, there really isn't much different, so you know what you're getting year after year; better graphics and solid gameplay that you can play over and over and over again.

I biases with madden because it is the only game that I do play on my ps4. But it appears to have better game play than last year with more tackling, throwing, catching, broken tackle, etc. Variations . I play head to head online and one thing that is different that I don't like is when you start a match you do not see who and what team you are going to play til game starts.

Madden has made improvements from last year. Graphically and intuitiveness of controls seem to be upgraded. The button for receivers to make leaping catches can make it a little unrealistic because it can happen quite a few times in one game. For some reason, I also find it hard to cover the pass still....maybe even more so than in previous years. That could just be me though. Overall, a solid game with room for improvements

I feel like i'm in control of an NFL game. There aren't a ton of new features, but i feel like they've tweaked some things to give it more realism, and make it feel like i'm watching a game and not playing a video game. I do wish the run game was easier. I struggle in that department, but its manageable and in no way makes this a bad game.

Been playing since the original Madden game. Every year there are new improvements, but I really liked this year's long overdue changes to passing & catching. You can throw jump balls, back shoulder fades, and your receiver can try to catch it in stride or make a conservative possession catch, or spectacular catch. Awesome game yet again!

I've been waiting for Madden to make a huge leap in their gameplay again, and they finally did! The new catching options make the game so much more exciting to play. And the new quarterback controls make you feel like you're actually in the game, throwing to the wide receivers. I'm in love with Madden NFL again. Great job Madden team!

The mechanics of Madden 16 work well for all ages. This was a gift but my young nephew had no problem figuring out the controls. I haven't played Madden since the 25th anniversary version but this one is easy to pick up and I like some of the passing and kicking mechanics. Simplified without sacrificing gameplay. I haven't tried the franchise mode but my older son has it himself and enjoys it.

I had Madden 15 and enjoyed it quite a lot, so I decided to give 16 a try and while there are a few bugs (like always) that need to be patched. The over all game is very fun and I would recommend it to any football fan who is a gamer. While we all hope for the NFL to someday allow competition in creating football games, this game does a great job until (hopefully) that day happens.

My little brother plays this game constantly. He likes the fact that he can play different teams against the computer, and has mastered the controls so that each game is a challenge for him, no matter which team he plays against or with. It keeps him occupied for hours on end when he has nothing else to do.
