I'm usually not one for posting reviews, so only the very best(in my opinion of course) warrant my time doing so.
I have been a fan of Anime since my daughters introduced me back in the mid 90s. I will be 64 later this year and my love of the art has continued to grow. That said, I am not a fan of every genre, series or movie created. I don't care for a good bit of the Anime produced, but that still leaves a lot to enjoy watching and collecting.
I have read many of the reviews of this particular show and there isn't much I can add about the quality or enjoyment factor of watching this series and theatrical releases. As a collector I can tell You owning the Steelbook set is a must have. This is without a doubt one of if not the best looking steelbooks I have seen. The Art is Beautiful and extremely pleasing to look at, just as is the contents of the disc enclosed. It is a shame it has sold out so quickly. I wish now I had purchased two. If You have an opportunity to purchase a copy, do not delay. The value of this set is rising quickly. You wont be disappointed.
I would recommend this to a friend

I purchased this steelbook through two different stores. Best Buy's was slightly more expensive and arrived in a box with bubble wrap and in excellent condition. The other company sent it in a thin cardboard mailer and the set was completely broken. Kudos to Best Buy for great packaging!
As for the movies themselves, I skipped the first two as a summary of the first season. The third movie continues the story as the crew enters into the fifth layer of the abyss. Just as gut-wrenching as that scene from episode 9 (the character designs belie an exceptionally dark, gory tale).
Bondrewd for dad of the year!
