This is exactly what I was looking for, if you’re into the anime this has all of season 1 as two cinematics on separate dvds and the cinematic bridging you to season 2. If you purchase this you will not need to get season 1 anime separately.
The anime itself is one of the best I’ve ever seen, it has some moments that are questionable in nature but the story, animation and music are out of this world incredible. The premise is a huge crater that no person has ever seen the bottom, the farther you descend into the abyss the harder the return journey is on your body; the deeper you go the less likely you are to return. There are people that live on the outskirts of the abyss that retrieve relics of an ancient people that used to live there before the abyss was discovered by the current inhabitants. These people are called Delvers and they are ranked by the color of their whistles. The lowest rank is red and the highest ranked delvers are white whistles. White whistles are few and far between, once a white whistle performs their “last dive,” which is going to a part of the abyss they surely cannot return, they send their whistles up with personal notes and anything they want to leave behind.
The story starts with Riko, a young girl of maybe 10-12 whose mother is a famous white whistle. She lives in an orphanage because her mother does not live on the surface. She finds a boy that resembles a relic more than a person on her first dive of the blu ray. He saves her from a crimson splitjaw, which is a creature of the abyss that shouldn’t be near the surface. Her mother’s white whistle and delvers notes are returned to the surface after her last dive. One of the notes that was sent to the surface was a ripped paper that partially read “find me at the bottom of the abyss.” Riko and her new friend make their way, even though they know they cannot return based off of a note that may not have even been meant for them. The things they find along the way are beyond the scope of imagination.
I would recommend this to a friend

No description, no image. I know what I’m looking for and am wondering if this is it. How many movies? ANY DETAILS? Someone open a box. Do better. I’m looking at you BestBuy
