This was a different showing from Schwarzeneggar

Schwarzeneggar produced a more dramatic role in this one. Movie has a dark feel but really draws you in with the characters. I enjoyed the way this movie was filmed and the progression of the story. Abigail Breslin really stole the show in this one though.

For a movie that bombed in theaters, I was hesitant, but could not refuse the price. The movie itself was slow paced, but the story is intriguing. I don't think anyone will be quoting any Schwarzenegger One-liners from this film, as he has hardly any lines at all.

I rented this movie a couple of months ago on Google Play. I have only seen the trailer at this point & did not know what to expect.
After watching the film, I have to say I enjoyed it very much. It was a good departure from all the clichéd zombie movies out right now. Some people might find the movie slow & maybe even boring at times, just keep an open mind and you will enjoy this film.
Don't go into this movie expecting it to be Arnold vs the zombies, because it is not that type of film. It is mainly about a father & his daughter and the tough choices that have to be made given the situation that they are in.
I bought this blu-ray on release day 07/07/15 & recommend buying or at least renting this movie.

Grabbed this in the bargin bin based on what I read about the film. Decent story but overall unless you are a Arnold super fan you won't be missing much. Bargin bin price, yes I would grab it again otherwise I would feel ripped off

I had heard this was a slow and emotional movie, which was fine with me. I love it when Arnold is killing and blowing things up, but I thought this would be a nice change. And it was ok. I don't think Arnold was the problem. I just think the story didn't have much to it. I don't regret watching it, so I would recommend it for seeing at least once. It was about a father losing his daughter. Could have been shown in different ways, in this case, zombie virus.

If your looking for a blood and guts zombie/horror movie this is not the movie for you. Arnold was great in a very different kind of role for him. Cinematography was very well done. I found MAGGIE to be more of a drama than a horror/zombie movie.

Different Take on Zombies

Arnold is not playing Arnold. He is playing a father of a daughter who gets infected with a virus. The main goal of society is to isolate them from others to contain the virus. Arnold goes and finds his daughter and brings her home to be with the rest of extended family. It is more of dealing with a deadly illness in the family and how things really work when this happens. Not a zombie movie, not an Arnold flick. go in knowing that and you might like it.

If you are looking for the typical zombie movie you will be very disappointed. This movie is about a father obsessed with protecting his daughter before she fully becomes a zombie. It is more of a relationship based movie than a zombie movie.

I knew nothing about this movie when I bought it. After watching it though it was a very interesting spin on the zombie apocalypse. Arnold and Abigail are both amazing actors. Definitely worth a watch

Arnold's return to the cinema screen has not disappointed. This mystery drama kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I'm a big chicken when it comes to horror films so I had to watch this movie during the daytime.

Because of the somewhat slow pace, it gets a 4/5 from me. For Arnold fans, like myself, ABSOLUTELY pick it up. Just go in expecting him to be VERY good at drama. Also, THIS movie is SAD... so be sure to have some tissues nearby.

I was surprised to see how Arnold did with this movie which shows much more range than we usually see from him. The movie is not really action packed but it does have an interesting twist on zombie movies.

Slow Burn

Going in Maggie's hype is mostly based on Arnold's reserved drama performance, and it is one of his best, but ultimately this is a very low budget, slow burn affair. It's far from the best zombie movie ever, but its not the worst. Abigail Breslin steals the show, as always her performance is a strong one. There's a lot of opportunity left on the floor in Maggie, most of that is probably on the director and budget's shoulders.

This movie is very well done, yet I must add that if you are easily turned away by gore then this is not for you. There are intense scenes that are very well done but even turned my stomach a little

While many may consider this a departure for Arnie, it is actually quite an excellent film. Without spoiling too much, it shows just enough of Arnie's acting prowess as a father. His softer side. Definitely recommend it.

This movie is unlike anything Swartzennegar has ever done before, and without giving away the plot, a serious Arnold in a serious and humbling role as a father makes for a really good movie! Arnold actually CAN act!

Maggie is a movie that is full of so many surprises. Too many to mention but the main one has to be Arnold's sedated yet dramatic performance as Maggie's father. This is NOT your typical Zombie movie by any means.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was the sole reason I wanted to see this movie and the trailers looked pretty good. I thought the movie was just 'ok'. It took the zombie apocalypse concept and made it about the relationship between a father and his slowly turning daughter into a zombie. Arnold definitely did well playing a more serious role. I just wish more happened in the film, was dull at times. But i still enjoyed it.

Something completely against type for Schwarzenegger - he gives an excellent performance. The film superbly blends the story/drama with the hugely popular zombie genre. Brilliant production design, great story.
