This is my second Magic Jack. I like the $100 for five years of service and the calls are pretty clear.

Had issues with magic jack error's.Contacted customer service via chat only.Had to repeat chat due to continued error message.Spent well over an hour and a half to configure modem settings. In the end returned item for a replacement.Ask for some compensation for the headache,Magic Jack declined repeated requests. When the service works it's okay. However customer service is lacking. You can also forget about escalating issues to a supervisor, they will not do it.(was told supervisor don't chat and no phone number available )

This is a great choice if you want to save money on phone service, or were thinking of only having mobile service at home. With young kids, I didn't want to get rid of a land line altogether, but wanted to stop paying $20/month to use the phone 2-3 times a week. Incoming calls and voice mail are directed to your mobile phone... kind of nice to be answering your home phone from your desk at work... and check voice mail messages from the app.

Set up was so easy that anyone who isnot tech savvy will have no problem. You plug it and open free account with Magic Jack and your set to go. Free service for half a year. You can transfer your old number with a wait of 5 to 10 days to transfer completely, which means don't immediately cancel your current service provider. Once the 6 months are up they have plans like $36 for like 6 months if I'm not mistaken. They charge you the whole amount on the spot so no monthly billing which is always a plus.

The Magic Jack device concept is great, but it really falls down on tech support. Tech support is overseas despite what the company says and is by on-line chat only and is not 24/7. There is no live phone support whatsover!!! You are in trouble if the techie has to deviate from the script. They have a bad habit of switching you to another techie without asking or giving you a chance to object. If you are switched, you have to explain the problem all over again to the new techie. Use Magic Jack at your peril!!!

Magic Jack Plus is really nice once it is registered properly. As they provide you A free phone number. Works really nice. Must have A high speed internet. Gives you an option to plug into wall or into the computer. The Choice I decided on was the wall plug. The phone rings like A normal phone. The system is nice to talk on. Can hear on like A regular telephone. Like other's say it's well worth the money. Have to pay your telephone bill once A year. You really save A lot buying MAGIC JACK PLUS I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS.

Needed to put a land line back in and this was the cheap simple option. Service is just fine, easy to set up, free use for 6 months and then I'll pony up some money for a few years service. Cheaper than Vonage, which I was also happy with.

All in all, the Magic Jack is worth the money. The price is so cheap compared to my monthly landline bill that I can't complain about the cell phone connection glitches we have. I'll deal with that anytime versus paying $50 a month for a phone I very rarely use.

I bought the MJ Plus to use during expat assignment working in China and it is doing a good job providing me inexpensive unlimited LD phone access back to the states. I would recommend it over other VOIP solutions I have tried while living and working overseas.

First six months subscription is free. Then only requires $100 for five years or $29.99 per year. You can port your local phone number means you can keep your existing local phone number. As long as you have good internet speed, sound quality is good. It requires you to connect to computer for first initial set up. After that, there is no need to plug into pc. It comes with power adapter. Very satisfy and strongly recommend this product.

I sent 3 MJ to my family oversea. Before the initial price for e/one covered 1 year. With this one covers 6 months, and it's more expensive. Still it is easy to install, good communication and cheap that a regular phone if you have family living outside of US and you have USA long distance without restriction.

We were a little cautious when first considering the Magic Jack, but were trying to cut down on costs. We didn't use our home line for anything but the alarm system and faxes for my husband's business. So we decided to make the switch and that was the best decision we could have made. Magic Jack was just what our family needed and it works perfectly. I would recommend it to any of my friends and family.

The device works as advertised. I plugged it into my router, which requires it to be plugged into a wall outlet to power. Setup was simple and I have not experienced any issues. Quality is no different then a land line or VOIP connection. I transferred my current number, which was successfully completed in less than a week. I was paying $25 a month for a VOIP line from Comcast, now my annual costs will be ~$40 a year.

This is a Great GREAT product. It was easy to set up. Magic jack is a non expensive product that work better than some products I've purchased, and fill that it was a waste of my money. Now I have a home phone that paid up for a whole six years. Yes I said my bill is paid up for 6 years. Once you purchase the magic jack that money goes toward your first year of free phone service. Then they give you a option to more service, which I purchased five years of service for $99. NOW you do the math. You tell me how much money you'll save on your phone bill if your be the next to purchase magic jack.

So happy to lose my $30+ dollar a month phone bill with Century Link. As long as you have good high speed internet, you can have phone service for less than 1/10th the cost. I love that they have voice mails sent to your email as .wav files! And your computer does not have to be on, just your internet modem. I even got a vanity number. There are upcharges for things like that or porting your old number over, but still a much better deal than Comcast, Century Link or Vonage!! (I have had them all!)

So the magic jack does work as promised, we almost never use our landlines anymore anyway so it is definitely a cheaper alternative to a landline. The only drawback is that it did.not allow us to keep our old telephone number when we switched which is good because our old number was mixed up with some woman who never paid her bills but bad for us as we now need to learn a whole new telephone number.
