I was really excited to get this product so I would have a home phone since I don't carry my cell all over the house. I was able to set it up with the computer but I didn't want the computer to stay on 24/7. I decided to switch it to the modem. I was immediately able to call out and eventually was able to call in. Now it works great. I love it!

I like my magic jack phone. I was able to keep my same phone number. I like my magic jack phone because I set it up to ring on my cell phone. Not only do I receive my magic calls on my cell phone, I can make calls from my magic jack phone number using my cell phone. My power was out for 36 hours last week during the snow storm. I did not have any electricity or internet service yet I could still get my magic jack calls on my cell phone. I am very pleased with my magic jack phone.

I had been wanting to use Magic Jackfor a while but was unsure about the quality . Now - since hooking the unit up which took all of 5 minutes, I can say I am extremely pleased and satisfied. I am saving over $50 per month on home phone service and the reception , clarity , and sound is exactly the same . One price gets you the unit and a year of unlimited calling - after that it's only $20 per year!! The first year I wil be saving over $500! Go for it ! It's a great option and can be used overseas and for international calls as well.

Purchased phone and able to keep same phone number. Was able to extend service for additional 5 years for $99.00. What's not to like. Calls are clear as a bell. Free long distance/free caller ID

I had my doubts about MagicJack but was I wrong. It works great and the installation is a breeze. I kept my original number and the transfer was seamless. It's been working great so far. I tried all the features and no complaints. Faxes wen through without a hitch. The savings are unbelievable compared to a regular land line. I highly recommend it.

I bought this item but after some research decided to go with Ooma instead. For simple home service it's cheaper in the long run. But I know people it works well for.

Unit was easy to setup and use. Probably better to set up via the direct connection to your wireless router versus the computer. As reception is poor when computer goes into sleep mode. Other than that this is a great product for the money!

I travel often to the Caribbean and have used it to call back to the States. It works great and the call quality is a lot better than the smart phone Apps like Viber and WhatsApp.

Goes out frequently when Comcast drops wifi. There is no notification that the service is out until someone calls on the cell. The voicemail can be picked up from the computer but that is usually after the fact. Sometimes, there is static. Call waiting continuously beeps while you're talking. I'm really not happy but I thought I would save $50 a month by dropping cable voice. I found out that the alarm does not work with Magic Jack so now I've had to spend more. Not happy at all.

In short, for the cost of one month's legacy landline carrier's bill, one obtains both the adapter and six months of service. Thereafter one is looking at a net cost of 2.50/month if renewing service on an annual basis. The device works as advertised, and the sound quality is rather good; keep in mind that the household where this device is used has adequate bandwidth provided through the cable modem. And as others have mentioned, be sure to hook the adapter directly to your cable modem, rather than to an associated computer as was the practice for the previous generation of Magic Jack.

So easy to install. Took minutes. Once installed you will never miss your old landline. $99 for five years. Can't beat it!

I switched to the Majic Jack because the cable company kept increasing my bill. A friend who had it told me they were very happy with it. SO I decided to try. So far it is working well -- about four weeks and I have saved a bunch on my phone bill.

This is my second Magic Jack. My first one plugged into my computer, which had to be on to work. This one just plugs into the modem. Why anyone uses an old fashioned land line(assuming you have internet), I don't know! I have 911 service and everything with no monthly bill. Works as advertised.

Overall am extremely pleased. Slightly bummed about added annual cost to keep current number and 911 service. Overall still a huge cost saver. Payback for cost of 18 months of service and initial device will be only 4 months!

After researching the product I purchased the Magic Jack Plus. It was simple to setup and worked just like any other home phone service provider. I was able to reduce my phone expenses by 50%!!! It works well and I enjoy it.
