My home phone line cost me 45 buck a month. and with this Magic jack VOIP device can replace my phone line and save me a lot of money. The only things i need is high speed internet connection. i can make call to Canada and anywhere in United State. one year cost for this phone line is less than 50 bucks

Why didn't I use this before? Easy, inexpensive. Have had no problems

Good backup device. Wouldn't use as primary. Different apps available on Smartphones which can accomplish the same functionality.

I recommened to my family to save money have not had any issues with family calling or anything else.

It takes a few days to port your number (if you keep it), so be patient.. Have a back up phone on hand. You call out but no incoming calls until porting complete. The voicemail is better than what I had - saves messages in different folders for ease of retrieval, and the voicemail talks you through how to use it.. Took some time to set up right - also set up new Modem and WiFi at the same time. Phone clarity very good. You can online chat with Magic Jack for help if you need it. No more monthly phone bill is the best part.

Pros: Setup was simple. Got it working in 15 mins. No more monthly phone bills. Works as expected. Cons: This is not a con but a good to have..... Says Wifi in the instrument but dont see details.

It's money saving to use the Majic jack , you do not have to worry about the phone call once you have internet connection

I bought the Magic Jack Plus to use for my home phone line. I know, who uses a home phone anymore. Why not, for the cost. Cheaper than an additional cell phone. Don't like to give my cell number out, so...it's well worth it. It was very easy to set up with my computer and to subscribe for service. I use it as a stand alone unit powered by an outlet and plugged into my router. It was incredibly easy to set up. The sound quality was better than I was getting with Vonage and the options are better too. This is a great money saving investment.

The would be a great item if it could be made to work with fax machines. Despite what it says on MagicJack's website, this did not work with my Brother Multi-Function combination printer/fax. I tried all the troubleshooting fixes on both Brother's and MJ's website, as well as spending several hours with MJ customer support. In the end the best I could do was get it to send faxes, but not receive them. Regrettably, I had to return it. If you don't need it for faxes, go for it, though.

So the Magic Jack is a great idea and we were super excited about it. However, once we got it set up first caller ID's do not register it, meaning your phone number is from one place and everytime you use it a different number appears on people caller ID so they dont answer. Second, when you place a call people cant understand you. I thought it was my phone at first but I have hooked multiple phones up to it and with all of them the person on the other end only hears like a robot like voice. So I am going to be shutting mine off and go with our local phone provider.

Got this at Best Buy on sale for $30, and at that price, this is a good deal. Configured this on my computer, after that I was able to plug it into the router and connect it to a regular cordless phone. That was it, total setup less than 5 minutes. So far, the call quality has been good. I am quite happy with my purchase.

This product is great for what it's purpose is and the price. I had a few glitches with it but nothing major. For the price you really can't find another product like it.

This is the 2nd one I have purchased in a few years to give to family members overseas, one in England and one in a Spain. Please don't let the cheesey marketing and tacky looking packaging stop you from buying it, It really does work well.

This products provides an alternative to replace a phone line with and inexpensive VOIP phone line.

Like I stated in the previous questions the service is good for travelers, since it gives the ability to make calls back home for a reasonable yearly price; but the quality of calls made is not the best, you can hear chirps, burps, broken speech and all sorts of noises.

Love it ditched time Warner phone and saved so money is always good,easy set up, the app for IPod is extremely useful it will cut on minutes used on track phone

I dropped my more expensive voip service and had my phone number ported to MagicJack with no problems. I'm saving about $270 a year...Can't beat that.

First six months subscription is free. Then only requires $100 for five years or $29.99 per year. You can port your local phone number means you can keep your existing local phone number. As long as you have good internet speed, sound quality is good. It requires you to connect to computer for first initial set up. After that, there is no need to plug into pc. It comes with power adapter. Very satisfy and strongly recommend this product.

I guess it's a great thing.It has its advantages and disadvantages.First of all,it has no monthly billing!Which is great.Secondly,it's portable,take it with you everywhere. But,unfortunately,if your internet connection acts up for whatever reason (even if you have fast fios like me),it affects the phone connection. Obviously,you can't use the phone when Internet connection is low. So,basically the Majic Jack could be used as a second line,or you could have it as a primary line if you still wanna keep your home phone when primarily using the cell phone like I do (and I am certain,this is what others do nowadays also)

Once you get it set up it works. I had to spend 3 hours on the phone and then it worked. about 2 days later same thing, 2-3 hours and then it worked. it resets with the power but otherwise it works. just know you have to pay for a subscription after 6 months
