Myabe it has something to do with the new TV because of all this HDMI1 &2. I hope it is going to work now. It has taken me awhile to figure things out. Now I have to get used to it.

Good unit fair price, does upgrade to HD picture quality but setup instruction could be better as well as recommended settings. Overall would buy again but have only used twice to record use a blu ray player for playback.

It works great. Was easy to hook up to tv and cable network.

VCR's are more difficult to find. However, I came across this Magnavox DVD/VCR recorder. I found it easy to set up, easy to program and easy to use. Very happy with it so far.

needed vhs and dvd playing and recording. it does both but closed captions do not work on some recordings. Best Buy personnel are not very helpful about individual product's technical capabilities.

My husband bought this. The sales person was helpful; this is just what he was looking for.

I needed to convert several old VHS into DVD format and it works pretty well. The cost could have been a little lower but it works wonderfully.

I am a novice with these things. I needed something to convert my videotapes as well as play DVDs. I couldn't run this device without the manual though. I'm glad I bought it.

I wanted to update the vcr/dvd player I had that was such a hassle to use. I saw this one and the price was great and it is so much easier to use. very happy with this purchase.

Got the job done. I'm not very good with technology so it was not as easy as I hoped it would be.

So far it's covering my basic needs. However, the Samsung I replaced had the ability to format and record DVD +R dvds. This one doesn't which is a real downside. It was a lot less cumbersome to write titles using the remote on the Samsung as well. But not a lot of options out there so this will have to do.

I bought this DVD/VHS Player because I had a lot of old VHS tapes that I wanted to dub onto DVD discs. It was terrific. All of those tapes are now on DVD discs.

My SONY DVD/VHS blew and couldn't be repaired. I searched on line and there are very, very few combo units out there--some with really bad reviews. This one has the ability to record from VHS to DVD, but haven't tried that yet. Primary use is watching movies with my grandson and it seems fine for that. It is a bit clunky sounding when loading but other than that it seems ok.

AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS AND FAILING EACH TIME, I CALLED MAGNAVOX (THE MANUFACTURER) nd still couldn't get it to work! i returned it. DON'T BUY IT BECAUSE IT WOULD BE A WASTE OF YOUR TIME AND MONEY, NOT TO MENTION THE FRUSTRATION! POOR!

We bought it for our grandsons room at our home so when he visits he can watch his Disney movies on VHS and DVD, we like it so much, we now use it to watch our family movies in our livingroom, so needless to say, I think we are in the market for another one. We have only transferred one old VHS to DVD (most are copyrighted, so we can't transfer) but it worked great and very simple.

We have a lot of VCR's. Our old one died, and this is a great replacement.

Bought it to dub some old videos from years ago before they completely go bad. It works like a charm and has been running ever since. Both the DVD side and VCR side work well. Took a little effort to figure out how to title the dvd's afterwards, but if you stick to the manual it all works out.
