Needed a replacement for my vcr/dvd for emergencies.

If you have many vhs tapes that you just cant replace or hate to throw out, this is a great option.

This product is what I expected and is operating fine and we have experienced no problems.

Sure glad we found this combo unit. Having some old famliy videos and movies still on VHS, it was great to be able to get one unit to play both DVD and VHS.

We bought this VCR/DVD player to replace an old one. Seems to work ok.

for use as a playback deck only it is good. I would use this for young children to watch movies and unable to record over tapes easily

Have owned a Canon Rebel XS for many years. Needed to get a camera that could capture sports and low light situations with better clarity. The 70D is a great camera for this. Price for a package with additional lens was not outrageous. We have been extremely happy with the results over the past 2 months.

We bought this about a year and a half ago to watch our collection of VHSs on. I was worried it was going to fade out on us fast but it hasn't and seems like it will keep going for quite some time to come.

It isn't what I was looking for, but it serves its purpose. I wish there were other aspects that it doesn't have, such as the ability to make DVD's from the VHS tapes. But the software that I purchased makes it usable. I wish I had known when I bought it that it would require me to buy something else to use it. Also, the software is snarky and you do have to spend a LOT of time babying it to get it to work properly.

I have too many VCR tapes to get rid of my VCR player....and still have plenty of DVD discs. I bought a similar product on-line that broke down after 3 uses. I was so happy to find this in Best Buy and even more excited to have it hook up so easily. We used it a lot over the holidays.

If you review the posted specs you will see that there are 0 HDMI outputs, so there is no upconversion capability. Upconversion applies only to DVDs and since it is only a digital process, requires an HDMI DIGITAL output. This device might play regular DVDs just fine thru the component output, but there is NO capability to upconvert DVDs. Also, upconversion does not even technically apply to consumer VHS tape players.
