Picked up unit today at my local Best Buy. When taken out of carton notice the left side of face plate was separated from chassis. Popped it back seemed OK. Tried using the tracking feature for the VCR but left side doesn't work. Need a better way of packing since it's only wrapped in one layer of bubble wrap. The dubbing feature is simple to do and you can't tell the difference from dubbing from vhs to dvd so I'm going to try another and I'll let you know how i make out.

Some of the functions are a little quirky but everything works. The remote does not seem to have a very strong signal; has to be aimed specifically at the receptor, but it works ok. Decent but not exceptional quality picture.

This is the third DVD Recorder I've owned. This has the most options, the easiest to use and is the best one of the lot. It is great for recording my old home movies to DVD.

It was significantly cheaper than a new unit and so far...has been very reliable and is performing well.

In the product description it said it had 2 component inputs and thats the reason I bought it.When it was delivered I found that it did not have any.

I wanted a simple, quick way to backup dozens of family videos recorded on VHS tapes to DVDs. This Magnavox unit performs well. Even though it says it's a refurbished unit, I could not tell it was previously used.

I am very impressed with the quality of this Magnavox combo unit. The DVD player actually produces a slightly better picture than my stand-alone player does. The VCR portion is of average quality but does the job well. And the DVD recorder also works well for making copies of tapes or TV broadcasts. Considering the very low price of this unit, it is truly a bargain.

I would advise anyone that is looking to buy a VCR / DVD COMBO , to try the magnavox unit. The picture quality is great, This is use to watch dvd,and vhs tapes. It self tracks and fixes it self. It give you a purfect picture. And you could record from the tv or from the tape to the dvd, or dvd to tape, AWESOME UNIT ...

I bought this item for a friend who had a similar product, that had crapped out. I was told that many of these types of products were not reliable, but my friends and I have found this refurbished item to work perfectly.

Overall It was a great price and The picture Quailty is great.It was very Easy to setup and use.

Does not set up with newer TV's. Connection is not updated. No instructions for this problem. We bought it and cannot get it to work with our Flat Screen TV. Tried set up with our dish box, but can't get it to work yet. Still Trying. Very disappointed.

Came in a timely manner and with copy of instructions. Easy to use. Easy to set up.

The remote did noit work so I requested another and it do not work either unless I was 3 inches from the unit. Glad for the warranty as Magnavox support got me to a shop that can fix it so it's in the shop now. How did this unit make past inspection?

Machine works well. Gives clean picture. VCR mechanism jams easily, but for the price it is worth it.

I must be crazy. When I ordered this I was sure it listed it with a digital tuner. No such luck. I'm debating whether or not to return it.

I read the first 5 pages of the reviews trying to find out what people didn't like about the machine as allot of combo machines are not flat screen friendly. This might be one as 1/3 of the negitives I found had that very same issue. What good are customer reviews that have no negitive comments? Answer: NO GOOD AT ALL! SAVE YOUR SANITY AND DON'T BUY OLDER MODELS REGUARDLESS OF WHO MAKES THEM... unless all you have are older tv's.

Really like having a two-in-one device! Just not electronically a genius. I do have some nephews that could figure it out so, I'm not worried. Definitely a great deal getting refurbished product. With shipping and tax included I still paid about $90 less than "other stores".

My biggest surprise and disappointment is that there is no internal tuner, therefore, I cannot watch one program and record another. The HD advertised works only with an HDMI connection. This was not clear to me in the online description. Playback is oftern very poor. This unit has a real problem with accurate tracking - either auto or manual. Even set-up was a chore. I was accustomed to just hooking an RF connector from cable to VCR. This time I had to get different cables and connectors and go from my cable box to the VCR/DVD.

I am impressed with how well it works. Follow the directions for dubbing and transfer of data from VHS tapes is accurate and easy.
