Overall a great game that you can pickup and start playing quickly. My 7 year old loves it. First Wii game he has taken to in about 2 years.

Disappointed after 24 hours

As usual most folks will critique the relatively poor graphics of this game on the Wii vs the other available platforms. I will admit they are a bit lacking even for the Wii.
I'll start with what's I think is the most fun. The pitching. Just like real baseball there's a lot of strategy that goes into pitch choice. Wind and fatigue affect placement.
However, my dissapointments are in the playability department. Every button on the controller and nun-chuck can be used at just about every point in the game. That's a little overwhelming. It is playable without using all of them, but mastery should not be expected... and don't know about being able to win a game at the "Pro" (2/4) difficulty level. For instance, fielders will begin to break for the ball and stop if you're not already pushing the stick when the focus switches to them... recipe for a missed or dropped fly.
Batting is more difficult... but it might just be me. Granted I've only played 3 games and a couple home run derby's, but I haven't figured out how to pick up the location of the ball. It's mostly guess work. Hopefully I'll figure it out in the next handful of games or or the game will end up sitting on the shelf.
I was also disappointed to find out there there's no online updating of the rosters. I can't tell how old these rosters are, but I did notice Matt Holliday is still on Oakland's roster despite being traded to St Louis in July 2009.
I was also hoping to see features like batting practice, or skill games (target practice, etc). But the options are basically batting practice, exhibition games, season(s), or a custom playoff bracket.
Overall, if you're a baseball fan needing a baseball fix, it is better than the Wii Sports baseball, but not a lot. I'd recommend looking for other more Wii friendly baseball options that are out there.

Wait for next year, worth a rent

I did not play online on this game so this is not include online reviewing.
Lets start on a positive note. The pitching in the game was top notch. I did not see one problem. I really felt into the game when I was pitching. If I was 2k... I would not change the way to pitch at all.
Also, the Association mode really surprised me. I spent most of my time playing this mode. It can get very addicting at times. There was only one problem with this mode. In the draft, I tried so hard to get a first round pick. They would mix it up every time. I mean in nba2k10, it is so easy to get a first round pick. Thats the same company, right? Why couldn't they just copy it?
Now lets talk about batting, I would have put it in whats great except that it had a few problems. Mlb2k10 uses the add on of the nunchuck.
you use a motion in which you swing your arms like you are swinging a bat. The cord on your nunchuckswings and hits your back very hard, especially on homers. Speaking of home runs. It was too easy to hit for power. You may think that 2k would make up for that by over the fence grabs. I mean they did, just a bit too much. One game The center feilder robbed me with 5 over the fence grabs. That made me so mad.
Fielding: OK, except for over the fence grabs.
Baserunning was a huge disappointment. The controls for it was only for serious gamers. I found myself in a pickle so many times! It is impossible to steal. The computer was smart, not once did they steal on me. They know the game the best and did not chance it.
Broadcast: Horrible, as always. They seemed to know nothing about the game.
Graphics: The wii is not known for having good graphics, so I'm going to be a bit kind. The fields are ok. The player models are pretty good. The crowd was very surprisingly amazing. They actually moved and attempted to catch foul balls. One problem is the camera view on foul balls. It was OK, accept some of the "foul balls" were homeruns. I wish the camera view when the ball was hit would stay the same.
I was disappointed about the options of game modes. The wii version has no my player mode! My player mode was on every other console but the wii. That made me so mad! There is no better mode on a sports game than a my player mode. NBA2k10 had about 4x the amount of modes than mlb2k10. You are the same company right?
Lastly, when you play a season, it doesnt save after every game unlike nba2k10. You can forget to save it alot. When you do save it, it puts it in a different place and took me 3 days to find it.
For me, I think it is a wait for next year or until' they put in the my player mode. By the way, create a player doesn't count!

Waste of money

This was a waste of money. The difficulty doesn't seem to change. On beginner the cpu team is able to get hit after hit, run after run. Replays show a hit when player team is up to bat yet they are calling strikes. Not a game I would ever recommend.

Ok I have to admit. When I bought the Wii I bought it for my family since they wanted the interaction. I knew that on certain games, graphics would be dissapointing. Tiger woods 2010 looks pretty good, but of course it's no PS3. The component cable gave me 720x480 graphics, which is ok but not great. I would say, if you want a game like this buy a PS3 or xbox360. The graphics on the ps3 are unbeatable, but of course at 1080p. The Wii is for kids games and for workout. I like the Wii, but not games that tend to be made with high end graphic capabilities.

Worst Baseball game

If you only play against the computer, this game is good. It fails when you want to play anther person. It is a stripped down version for other game consoles. The only option for person to person play is an Exhibition Game. You cannot pick your lineup before the game starts - you always get the same starting pitcher and fielders. The game does not carry stats from game to game.

I like the game, although the hitting is a bit challenging and the pitching is a little easy.
