This is a fantastic new scan and transfer of a fanboy classic. Never looked or sounded so good on home video and the bonus features are excellent. You get some new ones and some old ones that give you a lot of insight into the production, the zeitgeist around it, the thoughts that went into etc.
Still a great, one-of-a-kind movie too.
Bonus points for great packaging and presentation as well. Arrow always does a nice job.

"That kid...is back....on the ESCALATOR AGAIN!" As a big Kevin Smith fan and an even bigger comic book fan, this movie hits all the right notes for me. This is Smith's second movie in the "View-Askewnivere" with the first being "Clerks". An observant viewer will be able to see many concurrent story lines and themes that Smith likes to interweave into his movies. If you enjoy these 2 movies, I highly recommend finding "Chasing Amy", "Dogma", "Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back", and "Clerks 2" as they all take place in the same universe. Also, be on the lookout for "Mallrats 2" and "Clerks 3" which the director is currently working on. Excelsior!!

Great Movie

An extremely overlooked and under appreciated movie. I personally think it's far better than Clerks, Chasing Amy, and Dogma, even though there's probably no one else who agrees with that. I will say, though, that I've seen the 10th Anniversary Edition and the video and sound quality seem better on that and a couple little sound bits seem different. But it's still a great movie. And just a tip: you don't have to bother watching the deleted scenes (or the extended version in newer releases which is just the unedited version): they don't add anything (and the theatrical version's better).

I remember when this movie came out, I was a teen and saw it in the theater, I laughed pretty good then, and still find it hilarious today. I find a lot of the movies I watched and enjoyed as a teen i can't stand now, like clueless, I think, how in the world was I ever into that, lol. This however stood the test of time for me. Snagging it for a couple bucks on black friday makes it even better. I didn't like clerks that much, actually liked the sequel better, and while it's funny I'm still not that into dogma, chasing amy I haven't steeled myself to watch again since a teen since I don't remember liking it much, this is the only jay and silent bob movie I feel I can watch more than twice. If you like funny preposterous situations you'll probably like this.

Kevin Smith, you either love his work or hate it, there's no middle ground. While I think Jay & Silent Bob is the best movie for the casual fan to start with, Mallrats comes close 2nd. This release by Arrow Video pulls all the stops and delivers the most complete Mallrats package yet (it even includes the censored TV version with its hilarious dubbing). Definitely worth checking it out!

I know people either love Kevin Smith or hate Kevin Smith, I for one have always been a fan. This is a fun romp with all of our favorite New Jersey characters. This new release on Bluray is great and will certainly not have sexy times with you in a very uncomfortable place! (Like the back of a Volkswagon!) oh, and I just heard that if you look at the magic eye picture in the mall that is supposed to be a sailboat it is actually a bunch of shapes...just a little movie trivia!

I love all of Kevin Smith's movies! All of them. Watching it after almost 20 years is a trip. It is certainly dated... The clothes and technology are a bonus laugh 20 years later. The blu ray transfer is really good. The special features are awesome to watch if you're a Kevin Smith fan. The BEST bonus is the iTunes Digital Copy in HD! That was a welcome surprise. Great movie, great disc.

Kevin Smith gets no love from the critics and there are so many bad review out there. I just don't understand why. Sure it's juvenile, silly and offensive. If you like Kevin Smith films, you will love this movie. I've seen it at least 10 times and I still laugh. Plus you can see Ben Affleck before he became "Ben Affleck". Jason Lee before "Earl". Michael Rooker before "The Walking Dead"

This film gets a lot of complaints from fans that it's not up to par, certainly not after "Clerks," but this is a good, fun movie, much in the spirit of Kevin Smith's sense of humor. It's not perfect, but still has some memorable moments, like the Jedi mind-trick, and quotable dialogue.

This Blu-Ray has both the theatrical and extended versions on it. Skip the extended. I couldn't watch it. A whole lot of extra garbage. But the theatrical movie is still pretty funny. You have to appreciate comics, the cheesy romance game shows of the 90's, and hanging out at the mall as kids to like this movie though. The picture and sound is good. I got it in the bargain bin at my BB so I think it's a good value.

This Kevin Smith movie is one of his most underrated movies, he has ever made. The comedy and dialogue is gold. It's a movie I can always watch for laughs. Kevin Smith knows how to win movies with lines, that's why he is one of the best. This version has an alternative ending and we'll worth the price.

Kevin Smith is known for directing Clerks and Chasing Amy, but Mallrats is my favorite Kevin Smith movie. It has plenty of scenes with Jay and Silent Bob and the cameo of Stan Lee is priceless. I highly recommend this movie to anybody who enjoys comic books and adult language comedy. The Digital Copy is another reason to buy this movie!

This was to be a replacement for an old DVD that got destroyed. Overall, it's good. The disc works and there's no physical damage to it. But the case was a different story. The case looked like someone took a hammer to it. There were little pieces of plastic from the shell flying around inside it. Other than that, it's a hard to track down movie and I'm happy I got it.

While not as critically acclaimed as Clerks was, it was unique in its own way. Some good, some not-so-good. But overall, definitely a unique experience.

This was an unexpected boutique release. After watching all the extras and the extended cut, I have more appreciation for the movie than I did growing up. Its still not my favorite Kevin Smith movie but still worth owning for fans.

This is an amazing movie for both lovers of the Kevin Smith movie (the View Askewniverse) and people who love all these actors who started out their careers in his movies such as Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Jason Lee, and so many others.

Mallrats is not a good movie. Don't expect intrigue, suspense, thought-provoking narrative, or Oscar-worthy performances. These qualities aside, the movie is packed with enough laughs and quirky, memorable moments that can keep you coming back. The DVD has enough extras (commentaries, deleted scenes, featurettes) to make it worth the purchase over streaming it somewhere online. Worth a buy.

Great film from Kevin Smith. Jay and S Bob do not disappoint. Now, how due these get sold with expired UV code. No expiration on package and why do they need to expire anyway. Was very disappointed. To Universals credit, I did email them about the expired code and they sent me code for Fast Times so bravo to them for treating their customers right.

With the added scenes many of the goings on of Jay, Silent Bob, TS, and Brodie make a little more sense, but the original without the added scenes is a stand on its own classic Kevin Smith movie on par with Chasing Amy. Either way, a good addition to my Blu Ray library found in the $5.99 and under bin. Well worth the coffee money.
