I love the sound of Marantz. They are one of the easiest to setup and use IMO out on the market today. I have used onkyo, denon, and yamaha and by far marantz is my fav. however, I had to return this unit due to bluetooth issues. It was my fourth marantz to be returned. All 4 had different hardware issues (HDMI failure, pre-outs failure, handshake issues, and bluetooth). I finally gave up on marantz which is a shame since I really think they have the one best sound/GUI out there.

I bought this unit to upgrade to Atmos and DTS-X. Got a great buy in it considering I already have great amps.

I've went through numerous units trying to find the right set up for my listening preferences. Great piece combined with Marantz MM7055 and 2 McIntosh MC275's.

This was a great bargain considering it accomplishes all that the flagship processor can do.

Not for the beginner. Needs separate power amps.

Very nice av surround processor, but keep in mind that it contains no amplifiers to drive the speakers so you need to have separate amps.

One of the best HT upgrades you can make.

Replaced an Integra DHC-80.3 pre-pro with this unit. Had just upgraded TVs and wanted an upgrade to my surround system as well. Did I ever get it. With the Integra and most previous pre-pros I have had, to get a good directional surround sound effect I found myself having to artificially bump the gain on the surround channels beyond the settings determined by the particular room correction setup I was running (with the Integra it was the Audyssey MultEQ xt32 software). That is simply not the case with the Marantz unit. The surround channels are clear, distinct and directional without any artificial gain bump. Also, I find that the surround effect is just as effective at lower volumes than at much higher volumes, which I felt I needed with the Integra to experience a really satisfying surround experience. This os one of the best upgrades you can make to your HT system IMHO. Highly recommended.
