That's good value for money, once bi-amped speakers and got everything working on 8ohms loudness is lower but good enough. Manual comes on cd not as paperback what sometimes causes inconvenience once trying discover all receivers functions

I had problems with setup and best buy geek squad members and store management took care of updating my marantz receiver and had it done the next day. They know their job. Customer service is job #1 and did a excellent job. Rockaway Best Buy. Thank you, John C.

This replaced my Onkyo that was only a couple of years old. The improvements that the Marantz provides are much better HDML switching.... it works perfectly, plus, improved surround sound decoding. We love it.

I purchased this unit after checking out the Pioneer 1124k and the Denon S900W they were both just okay but both had some issues. I got them both at a great price during the holidays and returned them both after a 7 day evaluation. I then went with the Marantz SR5009 and boy am I glad I did. I had not even paired it with the power amp mm7025 and this thing was the best of them all. You have to be just a critic of everything not to like this AV. I am running some Polk Audio RT2001i, a pair of monitor 40's and in the rear some small T15's, a CS2 series II center and a sub. The SR5009 has more than enough power to pick them all up and drive them. Now once paired with the MM7025 2 channel power Amp I simply am in awe... Not sure why the freezing up issues are occurring in some of the reviews but My Visio has no issues whatsoever.

Recently bought new Def Tech speakers for the house, and I realized that my old Harmon Kardon receiver was outdated. Went to the Magnolia store to talk about what the differences were, and I was absolutely blown away by this one. It has all the bells and whistles, and I would and have already recommended it to several people. You can't go wrong with it.

This system replaced my Pioneer Elite that died, so I was looking for an alternative. Very impressed by the Marantz, with easy onscreen setup, plays very well with Apple ecosystem. Audyssey setup is via multiple points in your room. Easy. M-DAX noticeably improves sound quality, especially when streaming Internet radio. Does automatic firmware updates, and the iOS app works well. AirPlay is fantastic, everything just works--as I would expect at this price point. Also the external build quality feels much better than the other systems in the Magnolia Room. Excellent level of service, too. Home theater experience is truly awe inspiring.

I was replacing a 7 year old Onkyo TX-SR 805. The Marantz showed great promise straight out of the box. My 5.1 setup is Polk TSx 550t fronts (bi amped), TSx 150c center, Klipsch RS-41 rears, and a Klpsch SW 112 sub. Compared to my old receiver the Marantz blew it away. ( which IMO it should have). I was very happy until I watched a couple of blu-rays. The video up conversion was beautiful it gave new life to my TV. The problem is that the video would cut out to a black screen while watching. It happened 4 different times on 2 different movies (randomly). I checked firmware, connections, and settings with no such luck. I went to the Internet to do some research on it and found it is a known problem. I really wanted this receiver to work. So much so I was reluctant to take it back because I am fairly confident it can be solved with a firmware update. Never the less I am not made of money and impatient. So bye bye Marantz. What an expensive way to get frustrated.....setup is fairly easy, but if there's a problem, finding a solution is a total nightmare. The network won't stay connected and working out the solution is remove all of the connections and start over. Ugh! Who wants to remove 50 wires and begin all over......this machine works best as trash......

I bought this unit from Magnolia in October. The sound is great but the video interfaces are very buggy. Even after installing the latest firmware it's unable to handle the video from my Sony blu ray player to my Sony 4k TV (I had to bypass the receiver) and now the network GUI has gone out so nothing displays on the TV for internet radio, on line music, etc... I would avoid this unit until Marantz can make a more reliable and stable product.

I purchased the new 2014 Marantz SR5009 to replace my older Denon 3806. After a rather lengthy set up process it worked for about 5 minutes before the whole system locked up. I called Marantz Customer Service and had to wait about 30 minutes before I was able to speak with an agent. He walked me through the "reset" for the system but it remained locked. I was told there was nothing more they could do and I should return it, or exchange it for another. Since Best Buy didn't have another SR5009, I paid the difference for the new SR6009. After another set up process it worked well for about 5 minutes until the Bluetooth function and the internet radio locked up. I again called Marantz Customer Service and was told they were aware of issues with connecting to SiriusXM, no solution yet, just "aware" of it. Again a "reset" was done and the Bluetooth started to work again...until I hung up with Customer Service. The sound from the Bluetooth music became totally inaudible and very choppy. When I tried to connect to internet radio I would see "no signal" "cannot connect" on the screen, even though the setup showed it was connected. For the third time I called Customer Service, this time I was told to log into my Internet router and open up 5 ports and change 2 other settings and it should work... I decided to return it instead. Marantz has apparently released the 2014 series with known issues and no solutions to the problems. I'm very upset about the time I've wasted with this company. Marantz needs to work out the issues before they release their products!
