I needed to upgrade my receiver when I upgraded my Ultra 4 K UHD TV.
Easy labeled connections in the rear. sound and visual clarity are perfect. My only complain is that the display dial on the front is too small so it is hard to see what setting it is on from the couch. Other than that it is a great product.

My first Marantz brand receiver. I came in for a similar Denon, and walked out with this. FIRST thing I did was set up the speakers with the included microphone.. It was jaw dropping! I went from unrefined, undefined surround sound to crystal clear sound! The setup is easy, the calibration setup went smoothly... Took a bit. Just awesome unadulterated sound. Bluetooth, WiFi, internet radio, online radio, 4K pass through at 60 fps. Not really as many sound options as I'm used to. Works like a champ at 110 watts @ 8 ohm. Biampable.. What else can you ask for?? I really don't know.

Marantz kept its reputation with the SR6900. The audio fulfills the whole spectrum for the audio aficionados. The video processing is fast and you see no difference when you feed directly to the TV or through the A/V

After trying several receivers including Dennon and Pioneer Elite, this one sounds far and above the best. I would of certainty given this Marantz 5 stars, but the Bluetooth feature is next to useless. It disconnects and drops the connection and then will not reconnect with out unplugging the reciever. But the AirPlay feature is AWESOME! I can use my iPhone to play music from any where in range of my wifi router. There where a few bugs in this recievers software when I first got it, but they all seem to have been ironed out with the super easy wireless updates. Marantz has an app to control most of the receivers features, it is sufficient but I wish it was as nice as Pioneers app. Also I wish it's front "port hole" display screen was bigger so I can see it from across the room. My system is all klipsch reference, 6" front towers, 5-1/4" center, 10" powered sub, and Klipsch Quintet surrounds. These speakers paired with this reciever makes beautiful, rich, and warm, sound. The setup with the audessy microphone and the included stand is super easy. It takes about 10 minuets to complete the initial setup and your all ready to go! Oh, and I had problems with some cheap HDMI cables I tried to use initially. This reciever can be very sensitive to cheap HDMI cables. It really prefers something capable of passing 10mbs or more, "high speed". Also, if you have a Samsung brand bluray player connected through it you have to turn off the "anynet" feature, the reciever will not pass through the video with it turned on. All things considered, I'm very happy with this Marantz reciever.

This receiver is awesome! I probably have approx 13k in my A/V system, with multiple zones. This really puts out some serious power!

Great AVR with amazing sound, although some glitch

First and for most I would have to say that I love this receiver and am very happy with it. The sound quality is outstanding. The 4K and 3D pass through work exactly like they should and I don't not see a loss of video quality when compared to connecting a bluray player directly to the monitor. Audessy is very easy set up and ensures sound in all speakers will balance out perfect. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the wifi and airplay have been glitchy. When I listen to my iphone via bluetooth, after listening for awhile it will lose connection. After this, you can't find the marantz receiver on your bluetooth list on any of your devices. I did a hard reset and it fixed the problem....temporarily.. then it went back to not working. I am using Airplay and it works great, unless of course bluetooth decides it wants to work then the receiver struggles deciding whether to use airplay or bluetooth and both stop working. Here is how I solved the problem once and for all. When I want to listen to music I turn my iphone's bluetooth off, the airplay works perfect without flaw. It is my opinion that when you pay 1299.99 for a receiver every feature on that machine should work perfectly. I'm a pretty smart guy and can always figure things out, but the fact is I shouldn't have it. The bluetooth and airplay should both work without compromise. With that said there is no better receiver out there for the price. So, I will stick with the best available and continue to enjoy my marantz!

Ever since I was in college in the late 1970s I wanted to get a Marantz receiver for my music system. Couldn't afford it until now. Use it together with TV, blue-ray, CD, I-Pod and turntable and it produces great sound as paired with Bose speakers. Wouldn't change a thing.

Outstanding power and crisp clear sound. Drives my MartinLogan 7.1 speaker system giving life like sound rivaling the best movie theaters. Speakers are 2 ElectroMotion ESL 8" Floor Speakers, 4 Motion 4s, a Motion 30 Center Speaker and a Dynamo 700W Sub.

Great AV Receiver

This was an upgrade from a SR4500 that was 10 years old. I was concerned with some of the poor reviews, however, this is a great AV receiver with very good performance. It was a little glitchy at first with the on screen display. However, after a software upgrade was automatically installed, it has worked fine. I have never setup up surround sound, but this was extremely easy and quick using the Audyssey system. This is a fantastic setup system that includes the subwoofer. Other systems do not include subwoofer calibration. Although the Magnolia employee was very nice, he was not knowledgable of the products, and I would suggest you do your research prior to purchase. I wanted recommendations on HDCP 2.2 copy protection for 4K media, but he had not heard of the technology.

Issues...I returned it - SR6009

I purchased the new 2014 Marantz SR5009 to replace my older Denon 3806. After a rather lengthy set up process it worked for about 5 minutes before the whole system locked up. I called Marantz Customer Service and had to wait about 30 minutes before I was able to speak with an agent. He walked me through the "reset" for the system but it remained locked. I was told there was nothing more they could do and I should return it, or exchange it for another. Since Best Buy didn't have another SR5009, I paid the difference for the new SR6009. After another set up process it worked well for about 5 minutes until the Bluetooth function and the internet radio locked up. I again called Marantz Customer Service and was told they were aware of issues with connecting to SiriusXM, no solution yet, just "aware" of it. Again a "reset" was done and the Bluetooth started to work again...until I hung up with Customer Service. The sound from the Bluetooth music became totally inaudible and very choppy. When I tried to connect to internet radio I would see "no signal" "cannot connect" on the screen, even though the setup showed it was connected. For the third time I called Customer Service, this time I was told to log into my Internet router and open up 5 ports and change 2 other settings and it should work... I decided to return it instead. Marantz has apparently released the 2014 series with known issues and no solutions to the problems. I'm very upset about the time I've wasted with this company. Marantz needs to work out the issues before they release their products!
