Great product, terrible manual and App

This is one of the best AVRs available and has especially good audio sound which is what Marantz is best known for. It WILL meet or exceed your expectations. Unfortunately, I must say that without question the manual is THE WORST manual I have ever used for any product I've ever purchased in my whole life. Not only is it the worst manual in the known universe but it is an e-manual. You'd think that for $2,000 they could give you a printed manual with this unit. It sounds crazy but this manual is so awful it negatively affected my opinion of Marantz. It makes me worry that if they can't make a simple manual how could they possibly make a technologically complicated machine like an AVR??? Another downside to this unit is the Smartphone/Tablet App, its not very useful for much more than changing the volume or turning zones on/off if you use multiple zones. My old Pioneer's App is MUCH better and let me contol many more features/functions. The unit gets 5 stars, the manual gets negative 5 stars and the App gets zero stars. Get it together Marantz!

I've had a couple months to get to know this receiver. So far I have not found a way to get any kind of bold bass sound that i like with the many types of music I like. This unit is strictly for a home theater application.
There is no way to manually change bass setting easily on this unit. You have to do it all though the remote control. This unit is anything but user friendly. It comes with a 300 page user manual on a CD. A $2k receiver should come with a hard copy manual in my opinion. My Receiver blacks out the video roughly every 15 minutes so i will be returning it for warranty replacement. I had this unit installed by Geek Squad but they basically plug everything in for you and tell you to read 300 page manual on disc and find setting that sounds best to you.

Many options, great sound, lots of power. Bluetooth is a little hit and miss for the $$$. If it was half the price I would not have a problem with it. Have not ran everything thru it yet so I can not comment on the rest.

I was in the market for a new Receiver. I upgraded from a Denon AVR 4802R THX Ultra2 7.1HT, mainly because of HDMI switching capabilities. After doing research and reading reviews I decided on the Marantz SR7009. The Amp matches the power of the out going Denon at 125W per channel but as newer technology goes, in addition to HDMI it also included in built in Audyssey XT32 automatic room correction, 9.1 Atmos and much better video capabilities like up scaling and 4k support. D&M Holdings make great products. It's 1 star short which I could hit it at 4.5.

The Marantz 2115w is a great receiver with plenty of power and great sound. I was a little concerned when the manual (on cd only) was iver 300 pages but set up was really pretty simple. It does take over an hour but once you get started the on screen prompts make the rest of the job straight forward.

Improvement over my previous AVR Denon 4311ci, except for power output per channel. On screen menu is a major improvement. Sounds fantastic Could not use the .Audyssey MultEQ XT32 because it attenuates the audio to compensate for acoustics in my theater room so I play it loud enough to conceal all of the rattles for now will be adding acoustic treatment soon. Wish DTS X was offered as an update.

I have always wanted a Marantz receiver and the folks at Best Buy could deliver. I love the reciever! I love the personalized service I received at the Magnoila shop at the Firewhell Best Buy. Go see Connor, one of the 2 Drews or Edwin back there. Outstanding folks who care, do a great job for you and know what they are doing. I highly recommend Marantz and by the way, don't worry about it getting hot, It's a Beast!

The sound quality is excellent with KEF Q900 7.1 speakers (much better than Onkyo products). 4K video upscaling (from 1080p Blu-ray and media player) is wonderful. HD radio is perfect.

I typed an excellent review on this and when I hit preview to submit best buys website erased it. Now it's short and sweet. I went through all the other brand model flagship receivers for my Dolby atmos project. I ended up with this unit and a two channel separates for a reason. I went looking for the best setup for the money at what can be had at stores like Best Buy. I have no ragrets....not even one letter ;)

Great receiver but zone 2 delay

The receiver is easy to set up and has great features. The receiver works fine if you are using it in the all zone stereo mode, however, when using zone two in PCM mode there is a delay between zone one and zone two. Marantz technical support said that there should not be a delay in zone one as compared to zone two. Marantz technical support said that I should take the receiver in to get looked at. I have returned it to try another one.

Excellent piece of equipment, needed something to run a record deck, old video player, blue ray, CD, cable. Does the lot. Sound through my old Mission 753 speakers is superb. Cable picture seems to have improved in clarity. Expensive but you get what you pay for.

This is an absolutely excellent receiver with plenty of features and capabilities. One of the main reasons i chose the marantz was because i do a lot of 2ch music listening and wanted something that sounded great with that as well as fantastic for home theater. This hits the nail on the head. Currently my system is all bowers and wilkins with the fronts being 683 s2, surrounds are 685 s2, and center is htm61 s2. The fronts are being driven by a separate power amp. Sound is full and powerful for both music and movies. My only gripe is that i initially had a very tough time getting the wifi to hold a connection. It would last a few days and then go out requiring me to do a factory reset and then reconnect it and it worked. Finally, i just assigned a static IP and that solved the problem. Overall this is an excellent addition to my system and i am very happy with it.
