Great receiver for the price.

Has everything you need for quality audio

It was easy to set up, the remote is not overly complex and the sound quality is outstanding through my KEF 3005 5.1 speaker system. While the compact size was not a major factor in selecting this receiver, it certainty takes up less space, looks sharp and runs cool - my previous AV receiver ran so hot that you could fry eggs on it. The labels above the switches are easy to read, a problem I observed with several models I looked at.prior to purchasing the Marantz. Power is not an issue with this receiver. 50 "real" 20-20k watts per channel at .07% THD into 8 ohms x 5 is more than enough for my listening room of 16' x 22'. Many companies provide an inflated power rating at 1k, which is misleading (unless you enjoy listening to 1k test tones). Also, with powered sub woofers, the low bass (under 80 Hz or so) is not handled by the receiver's amplifier, which takes a major load from the receiver. So, don't worry about the honest power ratings of this product - it has plenty of power. I've been an audio enthusiast (audiophile on a budget) since the late 1960s, and Marantz has never failed to impress me with the quality of sound - it is clean and full. The network feature was easy to set up, the Marantz remote control app for my iPhone works great, and the music from my iPhone and iPad play fine. I don't think you will be disappointed if you select this product.

Probably need to get 8 speakers for full effects
