This product really met my needs and performs very well. The system is much easier to setup compared to other systems that I have installed, and the sound quality and features are great!

I needed to replace my existing Pioneer and I mainly chose the Marantz because of the size. I specifically needed a receiver less than 6" to fit into my entertainment center without having to replace the wiring. This was the shortest model readily available at Best Buy. I heard that Marantz was good but good doesn't quite do it justice. My system sounds so much better with the Marantz. Unlike my previous receiver, the tv still works even when the receiver isn't in use without rewiring. I'm not sure if new receivers are like this in general. I had Geek Squad install to warranty the work.

This was really easy to set up and use! Works great to control all our multimedia devices from one place.

Was talked up as being outstanding by consultant, once installed however no better than the $300 Onkyo I had in previous home. Bowers/Wilkins in ceiling speakers installed with receiver.

Have had good luck so far, works well with bluetooth and pandora.

Took over 8 months to get DTS X update. Under powered, but we know that going in. The real problem was the transformer dying at a little over a year. Without the problems above, this was an awesome unit. Used Best Buy protection ended up needing a new unit. Traded for Yamaha Avantage unit. Do not like it as well for any reason, other than calibration tech and sound quality. Yamaha is cleaner and more defined by 30% ( obviously guesstimate)

I picked one last black Friday with a can't remember if $100 or $150 off the sticker price ... It's a great sounding equipment, you can tell that it drives smoother and warmer music into the speakers, I had a 10-15 y/o pioneer Elite receiver and the difference is noticeable both in sound and, obviously in features and technology for which mine was way overdue. App control, full of features, just great sound, although not crazy loud, but way louder than needed for any practical purpose in my living/dining room, even with many guests, it drives ample power to those speakers. Mine's attached to a set of small Definitive Technology speakers, so the quality of the amp may not be as critical, however planning to upgrade to higher-end stereo speakers like B&W, KEF, Dynaudio or Monitor Audio, -for which a better quality amp like this is better justified- and keep Definitive Technology for movie surround, we'll see. Remember that the speakers are way more critical for sound quality than the actual amplifier, so as a rule of thumb 80%+ of your budget should be on the speakers if you care for sound quality and not so much for number of surround pieces, movies, etc. So if you have good quality speakers and pay attention I bet you'll appreciate the slightly better sound quality that comes out of it compared to Pioneer, Denon, Onkyo, Sony, etc, otherwise it doesn't matter, go for either of those less expensive though great options' ones. Although it's a slim design, it's also somewhat deep; I have a small console and it protrudes out a little bit, so not the most comfortable fit when you consider required clearance for cable connectors, in fact I will need to do a little alteration project for my console (got sliding doors on both left and right sections that they can't slide because the amp is in their way on the middle section).

I was in need of a reliable receiver as the 2 previous before this one failed to function properly within the 30 days I had them. I really did not want to spend $700 for a receiver but I was getting tired of the malfunctioning lower end receivers. So Marantz had this smaller receiver that fit the bill perfectly. It has all the functionality that you could possibly want. Although it was just 50 watts into 8 ohms to my surprise it played my system with ease and I'm using all the channels front, surround, center, atmos height and sub. Volume is way more than I need and you will be very satisfied with this smaller muscle. Very happy with this purchase.

Marantz does it ! Excellent product. On screen menu is very easy to use. Esoecially if your 65 & cripple, like me. Speaker never sounded better. Thank you marantz !
