The sound is very good. I have bowers and wilkins 703 S2's and a bowers center speaker with 2 SVS PB-2000 subs. Memphis the musical is superb on this system. But the software is glitchy. 2 times in the time that I have had the stereo, the eq and tone settings bug out. For example one of the times the eq would only turn on and off with the tone setting on and off. I could switch the eq on and off but the sound of the eq would stay on. When it works the sound from the system mutes for a second then comes back on with the settings switched. When it didn't work, the system would not mute and nothing would happen. I would then go to the tone setting and switch it off, then the eq would turn off. I called marantz tech support and they walked me through a system reset. That fixed the problem. So be willing to reset the system settings once in awhile.
