I've loved MarioKart since it first came out and it gets better with every new iteration. The fact that this one has online and DLC is icing on the cake. I love the fact that I'll still be able to add new courses and characters over time. It's a no-brainer purchase for any true MarioKart fan. Highly recommended.

Mario Kart 8 provides players with plenty of customization options and tracks to race on. It's plenty of fun for anyone and is technically solid. For a few extra bucks I recommend you download the DLC on the Nintendo eShop for even more fun and even more unique tracks to race against your buddies on!

I believe my family has owned every Mario Kart game since it's inception! It never fails to deliver huge fun, challenging courses, colorful characters we've grown to love over the years, and crazy worlds! My boys ages 8-19, all love to play. It's a lighthearted, fun game, the whole family can play!

Mario Kart 8 is an amazing game! It's visually stunning and the tracks are a blast to play and explore since there are many shortcuts to be discovered throughout. I've never been a big fan of racing games but the Mario Kart franchise has always succeeded at making them fun for all!

I really love that they have all Mario karts thru the years in this game! As you play each game you can remember from years before playing some of the tracks but now with a bit more modern approach. I also really like that they have introduced a lot more characters and cars.

This is my first mario kart (I know, shocking). Thus, I cannot compare it to previous versions. However, my first time experience found the game enjoyable. It was easy to learn, very cute graphics, and I even won a match against my husband on my first time playing it.

The new Mario Kart is everything I expected and more, it has awesome graphics and the same coin system/ kart customization as the 3ds, the new tracks are fun, and the old tracks that were remixed are good aswell. Looking forward to playing the game with family and friends!

We were late getting on the Wii U bandwagon, just receiving it for a family gift this past Christmas. As with all other Nintendo systems, we have been waiting, rather impatiently, for Mario Kart to arrive. We bought this the day it was released and played it into the night, and early morning...and almost non-stop all weekend. This game does not disappoint. It is easy to pick up even if you've never played before. With that said, it is challenging for the experienced Mario Kart driver, especially the 150cc and mirror modes. The new tracks have some new elements to them - hang gliding, under water driving, and driving up the sides of walls. The retro tracks have been slightly modified with some of the new elements and have enhanced HD graphics. The online play is a big hit here, too. Everyone in our house loves it - our 9 year old, teenagers, and we 40-something adults. Would definitely recommend this game!

When I pre order this game, I was not sure my son would be interested. Since it's arrival 2 weeks ago, he cannot put it down. He is about to turn 7 and he love his new game. Easy to follow directions and rates E. Best game ever. I will recommend to someone.

This game is hands down one of the better Mario Karts available. Great Tracks, Characters, karts/bikes, and DLC! The online play for this entry has also been simplified over the terrible Wii release (Mario Kart 6?) you will not be disappointed.

This is the best Mario Kart game yet. It's a great improvement on a classic game. Each one they do they make better. The new courses are fun. There are lots of fun unlockables. Anyone who has like Mario Kart games in the past will love this game!

While I was a huge fan of Mario Kart Wii and have played most all versions of MarioKart, I have to say that this is the best of the group. With the Better integrated Online features of the WiiU playing online has been streamlined. The HD graphics are very welcome addition including Mario's mustache moving in the wind. But the best feature is still the racing. All of the tracks are fun and challenging but still allow for the entire family to play. Also the new anti-gravity features of the old retro tracks was a very nice touch. Speaking of the new anti-gravity feature it works flawlessly. While you might be driving on the wall or ceiling it you don't have to twist your head to race. All around every feature is very polished and a perfect example of how Nintendo makes the best first party titles even with the slumping sales of the WiiU.

the mario kart games rule for players of ALL ages. I play this game all the time with my girlfriend, friends, and it's just the best party game. easy to learn controls, great graphics, and even fun online play! all you need to know!!

Of all the video games in the world Mario Kart is absolutely my favorite. A simple game that I can play for hours without getting bored. The graphics on Mario Kart 8 are stunningly beautiful and new courses are a ton of fun to play.

If you've played Mariokart before and had fun, you'll have more of the same here. New tracks, new characters and cool new techniques like driving on walls and upside down. If you haven't played Mario Kart, no better time to give it a try!

Mario Kart is a day-one buy for me with each iteration. I have played them all extensively, and Mario Kart 8 is the best release yet. While graphics can't make a bad game good, they can make a good game better, and that's what MK 8's graphics do. The mud, looks like real mud with puddles and reflections, the backgrounds of the tracks are full of detail while not being distracting to the meat of the game: the kart racing. The racing is easy to control for beginners or veterans, with a set of items that has lost some in the number category but gained in the amount of balance, which makes the game more fun in the end. The blue shell is not invincible anymore! Online works well, with no noticeable lag, and the voicechat with friends (in lobby only) is a welcome addition. It's great! I'm going back to playing!

By far the best one to date. I like all of the extra characters, the new tracks, plus the re-imagined tracks from previous games. The online is definitely better integrated also. So far, definitely a worthy purchase for the Wii U.

Mario Kart 8 is great game. The graphics are great, the racing is great, the tracks are (mostly) great, and the online component is great. If you have played and enjoyed Mario Kart in the past, you will enjoy this game.

I've enjoyed playing Mario Kart for several years, and early enjoyed the Wii adaptation. When I had friends come over that weren't so experienced in Mario Kart (particularly drifting) I would set them up on "automatic" and they would be all set. In this version there is no option for "automatic" drifting, thus it can be a little frustrating for casual gamers to get into what all is going on if you have to explain how to drift. I haven't tried out online multiplayer yet, but I'm sure if it's anything like regular multiplayer it's fantastic. The graphics are really good for the Wii U, and this is one of the many reasons I bought the system back in November. I would definitely recommend the game to someone, and I would encourage them to invite others over because the more the merrier in multiplayer.

Great graphics and fun tracks. Anyone who has played Mario Kart before knows what to expect. Fast, whimsical racing with fun items, characters and colorful backgrounds! Don't forget about the downloadable content for more fun!
