I have been a huge fan of Mario Kart since the SNES days, and this is the best game in the series. The new features are great, and the changes to the classic tracks are seamless. This game is one of the reasons I purchased a Wii U.

This is a must buy for the WiiU owner. The game is visually beautiful and the new tracks are amazing. Gameplay is made to be as easy for a 5 yr on 50cc to challenging at 150cc for the hardcore gamer. This game DOES NOT disappoint.

Following the Mario Kart series through its entire 25 year cycle, its easy to say that Mario Kart 8 is a fantastic addition to the series. The gameplay is fun and fast paced and is easy to pick up and dive right into. The karts feel good to drive and there is an overall improvement of balance in driving and items compared to previous installments of the series. The battle mode was clearly an afterthought this time around and it suffers because of it. No arenas to play in, just matches set on the regular courses. Overall the game is beautiful, addictive and wickedly fun to play. Lots of characters and racing parts to unlock give the game a great deal of re-play value. The online racing, while hindered by Nintendo's mother-goose style of online interactivity, is easy, quick, and solid.

This game lives up to the reputation it has set for itself in previous titles. Every track looks gorgeous in HD, and there is a wide variety in the level design and detail. They have a wide selection of characters to play, as well as a big assortment of vehicle types, wheels, and sails to pick from. This allows you to tailor pretty much any character/kart combo to your liking for control. This is also one of those games that is easy for new players to pick up and play, but has plenty going for it for hardcore players to enjoy. With 4 player mode available, it makes for a great party game (although you may hate your friends when they take you out of the lead with a blue shell). Certainly a must have title for anyone that is a fan of the series or a fan of arcade racers.

Mario Kart 8 is a must have game for the Wii U. Hours of playful but intense racing action. You will be crying when you get passed last second and yet be yelling at the screen for another match. The antigravity racing mechanic adds new racing strategies is a welcome addition. The tablet controller allows Off TV Play or can function as a course map. Multiplayer is great for families while online play also provides solo gamers with intense multiplayer racing action. There are so many characters from the Mario universe with tons of vehicle customization options. Mario Kart TV allows players to save their favorite racing clips and share them with friends on Miiverse and Youtube. The graphics look awesome and gameplay music is great match. Mario Kart 8 is an excellent purchase!

My son and I race people all around the world. You can find players anytime of the day or night. The game is easy to learn and play, and while I am still learning, it is a lot of fun, even when I finish in last place.

this one has a lot of old tracks and a ton of new ones - really fun, FREE online play - can't beat that! Always people playing online, and I think there will be for some time to come because this game is great!

Best version of Mario Kart to date. There's tons of tracks, even without the DLC, and the graphics are really impressive. There's a lot of color and detail to ever course, and the karts themselves are unique.

This game is fantastic! Mario Kart is one of the main reasons I have a Nintendo console. I love unlocking all the characters, cars and car upgrades. The graphics look great! My kids love to watch me play the game.

Mario Kart it back and it's better than ever. Tons of unlockables, great courses, smooth controls, terrific graphics. This is what Nintendo is about. Fun gameplay, terrific characters, and amazing multiplayer.

Well, I was pretty excited to purchase this one, seeing as I am an avid Mario Kart player and fan. I have to say, though that the last few entries in the series have been lackluster. Don't even get me started on Mario Kart Wii with it's overpowered items and ridiculous rubber-banding. Anyway, I digress from the point. The point is that this is the most balanced and pure Mario Kart since the original. If you are skilled at the game, you will win, not get bombarded with blue shells. The visuals are bright and beautiful. This is easily the best that Mario Kart has ever looked. Package that with tight controls and even some decent online functionality and you've got quite the complete package here. Buy it!

The game feels like it has everything that you would expect from a Mario Kart game. The controls feel good, new features add to the strategy of the game and the graphics are excellent. The only problem is the quicker game play. While compared to other games this game has more tracks it feels as though it has less. The quicker game play feels better for the franchise as a whole but it makes it feel that there is less content in the game. Overall still worth a buy.

I've always loved Mario Kart and this one doesn't disappoint. It has a lot of the same tracks as the Wii version but with upgrades as well as a lot of new fun tracks cars and other upgrades.

Mario Kart 8 focuses on the racing experience, but features greatly improved graphics and some of the best course design in the series. Whether trying new tracks or revisiting some of the series' classics, I was constantly impressed by the capabilities of the Wii U. Unfortunately, two changes to the series (slightly) hampered the experience. First, they eliminated the automatic drift feature from Mario Kart Wii. While this won't affect hardcore gamers, it can make it more difficult for the casual crowd to race at a competitive level. More troubling, battle mode now happens on the same tracks as Grand Prix, which gives it a much looser feel. Hopefully, they address this with some DLC.

If you have a wii u then u need the is game. Not many good games on the wii u, but this one is fun for all ages. you can play 4 player split screen or with friends online. Such beautiful tracks.

This game takes the best from every Mario kart game. It has some of the best tracks. An excellent soundtrack (especially rainbow roads). The tightest controls. The best sense of speed. The best item randomization(items are truly random now and require a bit of skill to use as well). The new graphics system is gorgeous and the smooth 60fps is stunning. The online system thus far is the best ever for a Nintendo game. I'd recommend this kart game to anyone.

My entire family loves playing this game. It is by far the best Mario Kart! Lots of hidden items and shortcuts. Great graphics! Play with four people to unlock car mods and characters quicker!

This is a really fun game. My son purchased it for his birthday with a gift card. The colors are great, the graphics are fun, and the kids seem to really enjoy playing it. I like that it's not scary, and isn't some form of war game. It's a fun race game. My 11 year old son wasn't sure what he wanted to spend his gift card on, at first he wanted Assassin's Creed to which I said "NO WAY" second choice was Halo. Come on- what's up with all the war games? We agreed that I would pay the difference since this game cost more than his gift card. In fact the only down side to this game is the price. But when it's the only fun and age appropriate game out there- I'll pay the extra.

Mario Kart 8 is just as cool as it's predecessors(in their own right and generation) and even better than, the more recent, Mario Kart Wii. Nostalgia sinks in, with upgraded graphics(obviously)of the common characters and revisited classic maps, which come with a bit more pop and flare that make them unique and more fun than ever before. There is so much to look at, nearly overwhelming at times! With fresh dynamics and numerous options to customize your ride, the game is fun to play, with a challenge on just about every course. Nintendo brought it's A game with it's latest Wii U installment. If you were even slightly considering it, I say "Go for it!". So much fun!
