I have played almost every mario kart since its release back on the SNES. Just when I thought I had gotten too old and over the series, this game comes out and surprises me. Its beautiful to see in HD and is so much fun to play. Playing with friends or online is really where this game shines. There are so many things that can change the course of a race. Its exciting and unpredictable! Definitely recommend this game for all ages. Watch your back... friendship means nothing when youre on the racetrack.

A beautiful new addition to the Mario Kart franchise. Fun to play with kids and adults. Wishing for a few more tracks, maybe some harder bonus tracks (like the bonus worlds in the latest Mario 3D World). Hours of fun so far. Looks like we'll get some more content down the road, which is great too.

Mario racing is as good as I remember playing when I was a kid. Easy enough for my kids to play with me. Lots of options.

By far the best Mario cart game EVER!!!! I didn't believe when people told me about this game until I bought it. My husband who thinks that the Wii was a horrible system (he thought PS4 and the other systems were the best thing ever) but now he is is not only a fan of the Wii U but plays this game more than me AND the kids!!! It's AWESOME!!! If you don't have it then you don't even understand what you are missing!!! Nintendo outdid themselves on this one. Can't wait to go home and play later.

I am a big fan of the Mario Franchise, but I don't think it's really much different (content wise) than any previous Mario Kart games. I actually miss Mario Cart Battles from the N64, once you destroyed the balloons, you, or they were just done. I do also wish there was some type of story line in the game, almost like Mario Brothers, I think that would be a neat spin on the game, so you had to reach certain gaols, get through certain obstacles to complete a level, and have a boss you needed to fight.

I've been playing this every chance I get, I love the multiplayer 4 player split screen and up to 2 players online. I also like the single player racing against computer, finding the tracks shortcuts and unlocking new kart parts and characters. Great game to play with friends and family.

I bought this game for my 12-year old son, who says this is a terrific game. It's a great multi-player game with many courses and different levels of difficulty. We've had 4 persons playing Mario Kart 8 together, each controlling their own customized vehicle. Also, with our Wii U connected to the Internet, my son apparently has also been able to race against multiple individuals from different countries. It's an amazing game and very well designed. The Internet feature is great.

Mario Kart 8 may finally eclipse Mario Kart 64 as the pinnacle of the series in my opinion. Finally, we are no longer punished for doing well by that dastardly blue shell! Great game, great fun. Prior to picking up MK8, the only peripheral I had for the Wii U was the game pad (I had previously sold all my Wiimotes). A few hours after picking up the game, I went back to Best Buy to pick up four pro controllers and we played all night like it was junior high all over again! Definitely a must buy.

Mario Kart 8 is probably the best game out of the series. I love the graphics, smooth game play and the great tracks.

As I already said, best Mario Kart game to date! The "rubberband effect" is less as you can really get some distance between 1st and 2nd place. The Blue Shell has become a bit less frequent. And there's a great sense of accomplishment as in the beginning you're unlocking items and characters after almost every series. Down side is that the computer will occasionally target you with everything they have. Especially the lightning power. Over all though it's a great game and I love playing it!

If you loved any of the Mario Karts you will love Mario Kart 8. The game evens some of the playing field by adding coin boosts. Some of the new power-ups are only useful on certain levels but overall its even more fun than previous versions. Also different karts and characters are better on certain levels which makes knowing the levels and the game much more advantageous. I will say that their is so much customization it becomes overwhelming to choose if your a first time player.

Nintendo can hold its own with this game --perhaps the best Mario Kart for racing! The battles were a big disappointment as Nintendo went away from the platforms so great in the N64 version simply reusing race courses as battlefields. More disappointing was the timer they added. Simply ignore the battles and the racing is phenomenal --anti-gravity, shortcuts, and just plain old good racing with tracks that aren't overly complicated with too much going on. For racing, easily a 5 out of 5!

Graphics are great, includes new people, Karts have customization, and handling of the vehicles is also customizable, you can change accessories for your kart. The new locations are all fun to play and offer a good challenge. Grand Prix is my favorite, really fun to play, especially in multi-level player modes. So much better than the first Mario Kart., I hope they come out with another Mario Kart soon- My whole family has fun playing Mario Kart 8 racing against each other or as a team.

The game play is awesome as always with a large selection of racers, carts, wheels and other additions to unlock. While the AI can be frustratingly good at times the game shines in multiplayer, though the screens are split vertically instead of horizontally in two player mode.

I absolutely love this game and I'm an adult gamer!! The graphics are beautiful on the Wii U and it's a great multiplayer game with friends across the world!!! I play with a friend from New Mexico, Belgium, Texas...etc and we all play together! It's AWESOME!! I totally recommend this game to anyone from children to adulthood alike! If you're NOT playing this game, get it!! It will make a great addition to your Wii U collection or dare I say, a Wii U purchase! Awesome job Nintendo!

New tracks to race on, improvements on older tracks, 1080p 60 FPS makes the game look good and feel fast, and a smooth and better online with more online functionalities. The only problem I have with it is that the new battle mode is not as great as in past installments because it uses the actual race tracks instead of its own custom made arena tracks so finding opponents can be a tiresome task. But aside that one problem, Mario Kart 8 is one of the best in the Mario Kart series.

Mario Kart is a staple party game for Nintendo, and they continue to deliver with better graphics, customizable cars, more game play options and all around more fun. I have to say that I am impressed with Nintendo upping its game. To be clear, I am not a fan of most games that seem to add another number to their title and keep pushing out games with nothing really new to add to the gameplay, which is why Mario Kart 8 is a definitely refreshing break from that trend.

In Mario Kart Wii U Nintendo has updated the classic tracks to better fit with the over all gameplay and graphics of the new console. Without trying to spoil anything I will say like others have, the camera could angles could have been better or atleast more stable and i wish they would have taken further advantage of the claim that you could drive upside down. My biggest complaint is that they did not implement battle mode in a fashion similar to any of the previous games I have played in the series (I did not get around to playing Mario Kart 7). For the battle mode in Mario Kart 8 they pretty much just added balloons to 8 of the standard tracks and removed the laps and wrong direction features. Over all the new tracks are well designed and make good use of the extra power of the new console adding more colors and and detailed textures to the courses. What I enjoyed the most with the new details and textures added to the classic courses adding new life to them!

I bought a Wii U for my kids when it first came out and it hasn't been getting much use... At all... More like never. Anyhow, my kids love all things Mario so I bought them this game since I used to love playing Mario Kart on N64. Fast forward a few days and my kids can't put the controller/pad down. I decided to play the game and it's the same good ol' Mario Kart fun with much better graphics and many more power ups! I Had a lot of fun playing and am glad I bought the game.

Bought this game for my grandson for Christmas. We had 4 people playing at one time. Was a lot of fun. Great game!
