Customers are saying

Customers praise the multiplayer action, calling it the best way to experience the game. They also enjoy the fun and family-friendly nature of the game, as well as the functionality of the Wii wheel accessory. While some appreciate the graphics, tracks, characters, and replay value, there are concerns about the game being too easy once players get the hang of it.

    Great game!

Overall, I think it is a great game. The new tracks are twisty and tricky so it makes it very fun when you're using the steering wheel, specially at 150cc! Going online to challenge people around the world is a great feature that I have enjoyed very much because just when you think you're good in the game, somebody makes you think twice! I would have to say that this is perhaps the best Mario Kart so far! The only thing that I did not like was how in battle mode you can only split into 2 teams. On the Nintendo 64 Mario kart, 3 friends and I would just go at it every-man-for-himself and it was a lot of fun! The new battle made seemed to get boring now because the new battle arenas are so big that sometimes finding the enemy takes a while and you are just driving around most of the time. However, the online feature makes up for that since you can play with a friend against the world. In conclusion, if you don't mind the battle mode changes then you will love this game!

    The Best Mario Kart Ever!

Oh where to start, well the Wii Wheel adds an extra dimension to gameplay. I like how the wheel fits right into my hands. I have been a fan of Mario Kart ever since the days of Nintendo 64 and then kind of forgot about it during the gamecube era as I did not own one. And then I got this as a birthday gift. The graphics are jaw dropping for the Wii. In fact, they are some of the best graphics that I have ever seen. I also like that Nintendo has added old Mario Kart Courses from SNES, N64, Gamecube, and Nintendo Ds. The online play is the aditional level of gameplay. It is so much fun to play against other people. The only bad thing that I can think of is that when I play on the internet, It sometimes kicks other people off the internet but this may just be my internet. This is definatley in the top five games for the Wii alongside Animal Crossing: City Folk, Mario Party 8, Wii Fit, and Wii Sports Resort. I hope you found this review helpful.

Driving Like a Madman and Loving It

I'd only tried MarioKart for Wii once before, at a relative's house, but could immediately see how it could become addicting. Not surprisingly, when I received a Wii of my own, one of my earliest game purchases was MarioKart. With its vibrant colors, cute characters and cartoonish approach to competition, MarioKart Wii upholds the stellar Nintendo approach of creating games that everyone can enjoy together. It would be impossible to summarize all of the individual elements of a game on a review site like this, so let's focus on the major themes. Usability A 7 out of 10 here. WIth every new generation of console, it seems new versions of games (and Mario Kart has a history spanning several platforms) need to pack in new features to show the capabilities of the new platform. That's all well and good, and the end result with Mario Kart Wii is a mind-blowing array when you combine the (1) multiple race course options, (2) features/obstacles you encounter on the courses, (3) race car options and (4) ways to play (one player, multiple players working as a team or against one another...not to mention the online versions). It's not that fewer options would necessarily improve the game, but what would help is the ability to turn some of that off and on based on the skill levels of the player(s). Appearance 10 out of 10 (maybe 11 out of 10, really). The visual detail is remarkable (keep in mind, this is coming from soneone whose game playing days date to the Atari 2600, to be fair), and looks like a crayon factory exploded onto the screen. Bright, eye catching colors with clever design touches make this game as much a feast for the eyes as the mind. Family Appeal 9 out of 10. The very young and those with little to no familiarity with video games will find it hard to play along, moreso if you have an experienced gamer who ends up leaving the less talented in the proverbial dust. But if everyone playing can keep in mind the mantra that it's just a game, and has some fun when they drive their car into the middle of the ocean or off a cliff, Mario Kart Wii can be a fun bonding experience for everyone. All in all, there's a good reason Mario Kart Wii remains so popular. It's quite simply an amazing game that showcases the Wii system in all its glory, and helps explain why Wii is as popular as it is.

    Best Wii Game

Overall, there isn't much wrong with Mario Kart Wii. It is an excellent game that will keep you glued to the Wii for hours. There is a variety of game play for both single and multiplayer modes. Having unlockables keeps the game exciting and new while giving you goals to aim for. The online play is neat. You can play against others from the same region or around the world and even just against your friends. You can compete in tournaments to earn the fastest times in the world as well as see how you rank among others who have competed. All the new courses (available only on the Mario Kart Wii) add a new level of playing, making precision everything. Some of the older courses seen on older versions of Mario Kart seem a little more 2 dimentional and bland compared to the new courses, but don't let that discourage you from buying this game. If you can find it, which is hard to do right now, grab it immediately. You won't regret it.

I didn't think that it could top my first experience playing the original mario kart, but I was pleasantly surprised. Different tracks and carts, unlockables. The best feature is the online play (options of regional or worldwide play). Overall, I give this one an A!!!

I got this game like the day it came out and it was just so much fun. It's online portion is great and it is fun to beat people from all around the world. It has a really good single player game but it is fun in multiplayer as well. The only thing I could say bad about it is the rubber band AI, and what I mean by that is, when I am in first place on my last lap and I am only 100 feet from the finish line I always seem to get hit by about 3 red homing shells and then one blue shell that takes out the person in first (me) then usually after that i get another red shell. By the time all of this is done I am in about 5 place. But overall I would have to say that this is probably one of the best games out for the wii right now and I would recommend it strongly for those who want to have fun with friends or by yourself.

Overall the game is fun and easy to learn and play. The steering wheel controller makes it easier to control your character over the normal Wii remote controller. I would recommend this product if you play this game a lot.

I debated about getting this game for awhile as it's hard to know if it will be suitable for a 6 year old. Atfer I purchased Mario Galazy 2 and had so much fun I knew this one would be fantastic. I am so glad I bought it. My daughter LOVES it and it's so much fun to watch her and her Dad battle it out and both claiming to be the winner. My 2 year old even grabs a spare wii wheel and "plays along". It's worth the money and will definitly bring lots of laughs and smiles!! It takes time to get used to how to use the wii wheel. There are quite a few tracks to choose from at the start of the game and it looks like more can be unlocked in the future. It is definitly more fun when you have other people to race against.

The best in the Mario kart series. Graphics tremendously improved. Lots of tracks included. Bikes are added to add twist. Online play is great besides the slow startup connection. Overall, the game is SO FUN.

We decided to buy this pack after trying it in the store. What an awesome game! Our 3-year old loves this game. It is extremely user-friendly (I'm not a big gamer, and I'm able to figure it out, play it, and enjoy it). There isn't any violence or extremely scary images for our son, and it something we can enjoy as a family when it's rainy and cold outside. Many of the reviewers are correct...you don't need the wheel to play the game, but we think it makes it more fun, and the wheels really aren't that expensive compared to alot of the other gaming equipment out there. One of my favorite things is that it takes me and my husband back to our days of playing the original Super Mario Brothers on Nintendo.

A fast, fun entry into the series

Following on the mixed reviews of Double Dash for the Gamecube, Mario Kart Wii goes back to the series' classic formula of one racer per kart. But it's not all a throwback, though; the addition of motorbikes (don't worry, there's really not much of a difference) and tricks give a new flavor to the classic franchise. The game's best feature is the online mode, which Nintendo has finally put some serious investment into: there's hardly ever any wait, and lag is virtually non-existent. The included Wii Wheel is a cute little peripheral that is surprisingly very fun to use and is very responsive. That, and 25 characters to use mean that there's always something new to try. However, the game is far from perfect. While the rubber band AI (which is when the computer amps up the difficulty whenever you're in the lead, and it lightens up whenever you're back in the pack) has always been a part of the series, it goes a bit too far here, especially on 150CC. On that mode, it is absolutely brutal. It's probably better to just hang back and make a last-second run than to stay in first, which is just asking for trouble. Also, the graphical jump is minimal, as this just looks slightly better than Double Dash. However, this still is a really fun game, especially online. If you're a fan of fun racing games, this is definitely for you. One of the better games on the Wii this year.

easy for kids to use, set up time is quick. extra dedicated controller in the wheel [s], a definate time saver and plus. then the kiddos don't have to try and install them or take them out to play another game. varrious levels of tracks to play on from the beginner, to more turns for those that have played a bit more.

This game is phenomenal. The graphics are okay and the compiled tracks are upgraded graphics-wise. The carts and bikes and scooters are all really amazing, and the unlockable carts and characters make the game all the better. I can't stop playing this game. The wii wheel makes it all the better and more intewresting and the chaepness of a second wheel makes it easy to buy another and play with a friend. The wii wheel is also durable and easily replaceable. They are also easier to handle than a driving pedals and a steering wheel you attatch to a table. Hopefully a second mario kart comes out!!!!!!!

Everything about, from the graphics to the sound is great! I highly recommend this game to people who love challenges and never give. At some parts of the game, you may have a little difficulty getting into first, but otherwise you will be fine. A word ofcaution...if you are playing in the Grand Prix against 11 other players, once you are in the lead, the other players seen to aquire more blue shells, lightning balls and other weapons that usual, so watch out for that! Other than that, the game is so worth it and i highly suggest that you add this game to your Wii game collection!

The mario kart we all know and love with some new additions. There are more jumps and you can perform tricks when going off a jump. I think the best part about this game is that they incorporate levels from previous games, including the SNES version! This game is a lot of fun, especially if you have a large group of people playing. Online play is also great, but if you play with a friend online, only one player can actually be rated based on their win/loss. If you liked any of the previous versions of mario kart on other systems, then this is a must buy.

I love the mario games.. this one is no exception! We have wii parties from time to time and have friends over and it seems like no matter what other games we play somebody always wants to play mario kart! We have 4 steering wheels and they definately make the game a little more realistic! I highly recommend you add this game and the steering wheels to your collection! The only downfall I have found is my 3 yr old can't play this game very well.. but only because he doesn't understand how to steer correctly but he makes up for it with his other wii games!!

This is honestly one of my most favorite games ever! I can play it for hours. You can choose the skill level of the other characters you're going against. So if you want the race to be easier, just make the other characters bad at driving. There's so many places and characters to unlock. And they give you so many choices of stuff to do! You can play with people online, play against the CPU's, play as a team, or play battle mode. I personally find that the game isn't either too hard or too easy. Sometimes I win, sometiems I lose. :D

When Mario Kart mania hit I couldn't understand why as I'd never really played any of the Kart games before but having played this one I now understand why. This is a great game for all ages and all levels of gaming experience. It's fun! The wheel is a great idea and makes game play even more fun as you can get your arms all twisted up as you get engrossed in the game. The WiFi feature makes it great for the gamer who doesn't have anyone to play against on a regular basis. Nintendo have definitely hit one out of the park with this game!!!
