The last Mario Party I played was 8. So everyone riding in a different cart was different but you can still use some strategy in there. Playing as bowser is definitely fun. Overall I'm glad I spent the money on it. They just need a couple more maps added

Better than 8 and 9, but lacking in content.

I'll format this review as an easy-to-read list of bullet points:
-This game is very fun if you can pull together a group of 4 or 5 people.
-The new Bowser mode is by far the best aspect of this game, so 5 players are recommended. It's a bit biased toward the Bowser player, but it's still fun. Playing with AI characters can hamper it, though.
-The game is lacking in content. Only four boards! And only three playable in Bowser mode.
-There is a third mode which adds more boards, but you have to buy $13 Amiibo figures to unlock them. And those boards are highly simplistic, small, and square (literally). It's a shame that they didn't take this more classic Mario Party style and apply it to something Amiibo-free and more expansive in production values.
Still, if you're a fan of Mario Party and/or can get together 4-5 people, this is worth the try.

I have two little kids, 5 and 3 yr old. This game is great for playing with the little ones. My little girl loves being able to play as Bowser, which is kind of funny. Must have for any gamer looking to enjoy their favorite past time with kids.

If you like the popular dice game out there then you would like this. I would give it 6 stars but I miss the special powers of different characters fro Mario parties of the past. The game that let's you play as Bowser makes up for that.

Mario Party has always had way to bring people together to play as their favorite characters in a team or vs setting and this edition doesnt let you down at all, great mini games and really gets people's competitive juices going.

I wish they kept the old game style! They changed the game too much. Although the graphics are amazing, the game is more 'minigame based' rather than the old board game style. Fun for family, I just prefer the traditional version.

Not as good as the original games. Not a big fan of everyone traveling together around the board. The mini games are awesome, but they are infrequent. Would still recommend it because it is still really fun to play with a group.

This is a wonderful addition to the Mario Party series. They stick with what works and add a couple of modes. My favorite being Bowser party where 1 player plays off screen with the gamepad as Bowser. Great use of the Wii U.

As a dad, I know console games for kids are hard to find. The latest update to the Mario Party series is fun and simple for early childhood players and keeps your investment in older Nintendo hardware going. This game gives confidence to the little ones and lets them have fun with family or a small group of similarly aged friends.

Nintendo got it right on this one. It keeps all the great aspects of previous versions, but now includes the ability to let one player play against everyone else by playing as Bowser. My daughter loves playing as Bowser and hunting down Dad! You can also incorporate amiibo characters, although I have not tested this feature.

This game is great to play with family and friends of any age! The competition level increases and better make sure that the relationships are stable after the game as it may increase screaming and yelling.

My kids played this game and were very excited to play it but they grew bored of it after a while. They still play it occasionally (as often as any Wii U game), so its a great addition for the collection.

This is just about the same as Mario Party 9. The play as bowser feature is kind of neat, but has limited replay value. Overall though, it's still fun to get together with a group of friends and play.

Board game in console form. Great fun for friends and family. took off one star since everyone is in the same boat, vs. older versions where you're chasing each other around. Bowser mode is tons fun

The play has changed up in this recent edition of mario party. At first I was skeptical, but the more I played the more fun I had. Overall a good game, although it is not as good as I had hoped.

It's been a while since I've played a Mario Party game. While it may not be as good as 1 or 2 (my personal favorite) it is still fun to play. Just know you do need Wii remotes in order to play

Lots of fun!! New mini-games are pretty fun, even if the Bowser mode is a little unfair to the other players... still, makes for a good way to get the family together for a few hours!
