Even after its re-edit it still doesn’t live up to the first two films. It has a whole different intro and the ending is cut a bit shorter. It kinda made a bit more sense but not by much. No bonus features. If you are a completionist, then watch. For spoilers, look below. Spoilers The differences in this version compared to the original version are: -Intro scene of Corleone Tahoe House removed -Michael’s letter voice-over shortened -Michael’s ceremony removed -Couple of scenes with Michael and Mary shortened -Connie/Vincent approval of Zasa Hit removed -Ending outside opera house cut a bit short -Ending flashback of Michael and Mary left in (Flashback of Michael dancing with Apolonia and Kay removed) -Ending of Michael dying changed (Doesn’t show him falling off chair)

    Wonderfully tragic

Still #3 in series, but it feels a lot more like Parts I and II. The plot is much clearer and less scattered. Michael's story takes center stage. His desire to task the family out of crime and into legitimate business is more clearly traced. Coppa's sense of family is also more present. Tragic ends to Michael and his daughter and rebirth of a new Godfather. Makes me hope Sophia does another one with Garcia.

Best version of Godfather Part III

Godfather Part III has always been the weak link in this franchise. But Coppola's latest edit does improve it, making it more streamlined and comprehensive. It's a good looking Blu-ray, but opt for the 4K disc.

I have always been a big fan of The Godfather movies but this part of the trilogy has never got much love. There are some changes made to the beginning and ending that help with the flow of the film. I hadn’t seen this movie in quite a while so it was good to revisit some old favorites. If you liked this movie before you will like this version even more if you didn’t I don’t think it will change your mind.

The Godfather Coda - the end of the trilogy

For you all Godfather fans out there, this last story of the trilogy truly ends with all of your questions answered- like how appropriately named Coda. This director’s cut is what I would consider a better edited version than the almost three hour extended version. It is far better paced which is more coherent. Truly a Godfather fans to have in their absolute collection.

Third time's the charm? Not so much.

The main problem with Godfather III/Coda is that it is not either of the first two movies. It, for me, pales in comparison. You watched the first two? You'll watch this. It's not a 'bad' movie but does not really measure up to the other two. The re-do, 'Coda", is a bit better than the first version but, I suspect, I won't be re-watching it as much as the first two. You know when there's a movie that you already have on DVD and, maybe, BluRay but you still watch on TV when it comes on? Yeah, this ain't one of those. If I stumble on I or II on TV, will still sit there and watch them. Don't really, as of now, see that happening withe 'Coda'. Naturally, your mileage may vary.

Not much different than the original

There's not much difference from the original version - scenes have been deleted, rearranged, and shortened but not enough to make you buy it unless you're a super fan of the Godfather Trilogy. Michael dies figuratively here unlike literally in the original.

I've always felt that this movie, and especially Sofia Coppola's performance, gets an unjustified bad rap. It's just that it's not on the same level as the previous two masterpieces and is simply an OK film. This new edit is a slight improvement.

This review is a review you can’t resist. We’ll you can. I enjoyed the film, I liked the original cut as well. At this time I would have to watch them back to back to see which I preferred. If you’re a fan of the trilogy, this is a must have.

I didn’t realize this movie was actually Godfather 3 after the changed the title of the film. I actually thought there’s a 4th installment. Good movie but so much dialogues in this film that made me fell asleep.

The Godfather 3 is definitely not as amazing as the first 2 films but i would argue that it’s still a good movie. This new directors cut is interesting and moves some things around to better inform the story.

This movie is always a good wrap-up to the first two Godfather movies. The changes are not very significant from the original version and unless you know this movie inside-out you may not pick them out at all.

I liked Godfather 3 before this release. Its not as good as the first 2, but by no means terrible like some people think. This new release has a new opening and closing, but doesn't real changes my opinion of the film.

It's still never going to capture the intensity and investment I have in the first 2 but it's definitely a little clearer to understand and flows better. Would it have killed them to release it in 4k though?

Own this movie only if you are serious Godfather fan. Depending on your perspective, this is the much maligned or misunderstood third and final installment to the The Godfather saga. Overall the movie is OK. Essentially the re-release is still the same movie from 1990. Coppola shortened, moved, or deleted scenes. The famous final scene does get some special treatment. I won't give away spoilers. I'll let the viewer find out for themselves. My only criticism is the movie didn't have Tom Hagen. That opinion hasn't changed since I saw the movie in theaters.

Though this would have made the movie a little more better (although I do like the original 3rd). The edits and mixing up scenes does n work well. Stick with the original version.

While this movie was better than the original version, it doesn't really add anything different. Just a better paced film with an ending not as memorable as the original.

I enjoyed all three Godfathers. I thought all the Godfather movies were well done and even though there are gaps the final Godfather brings all the history of Michael's family together. These are still my all time favorite movies. Watching all three of them in order makes it easier to follow the third movie

This trilogy is one of the all time greats. I haven't seen the Coda, but if it's anything close to part III, I'm sure I'm in for a treat. Although this the weakest part of the franchise it still packs enough bite and grit for the true fan to rate an A on the mobster's scale. This is the movie that put Garcia on the map.

I felt the plot was a bit more coherent but it wasn't as drastically different as I anticipated. I don't understand why the made the slight change to the ending scene. It didn't add much, in my opinion.
