I have always liked strategy games but wasnt very sure this game would have what others had. From what was shown at e3 and other YouTube videos, it really didn't show me it was worth it. Mainly since Ubisoft and rabbids. But this mashup has turned out great. Visually it looks fantastic, there is a lot of content, very comedic and it gets hard, like unexpectedly hard. That got my attention. I ended playing it for hours after the challenge hit me. You really do need to respec you team, talent tree and weapons. You gotta change your team out to really maximize your potential to get that 'perfect' score at the end. There is a lot of great maps and they throw easy ones at you often later in the game, they even have an easy button before each fight. So if you wipped the first time and just can't figure it out, you can hit the easy mode. You can also have the game auto point your talent tree if that's difficult or for younger players. The boss fights are great, and without spoilers, they are entertaining to say the least, gotta play this game, they did a great job on these bosses. So with talent trees for each character, weapons for each character and challenges for areas you completed, Ubisoft filled this game with lots of content, not dlc parted out, as per the norm of Ubisoft. If you start it and aren't sure you like it, give it a solid hour and see. That's about the break in period I noticed. Great game! Surprisingly.

I have never played an XCOM game before. I do not like Rabbids AT all. That being said, the gameplay for this game looked too good to pass up. I wasn't wrong, this game has exceeded my expectations. The tactical overhead style battles are a lot of fun to plan out, the worlds you play through are fun, detailed, sometimes challenging and have good puzzles. There is tons of stuff in this game for completionists that gives this game a lot of replay value. Seeing Mario and the gang use guns and other weapons is something we haven't had enough of, so I have been savoring the experience.

I have to admit, I wasn't too excited about Mario + Rabbids when just the title was first leaked. I love the Mario series and characters, but I'm indifferent to the Rabbids. Once I found out it would be a strategy title, however, I became optimistic, and boy did this game not disappoint! Ubisoft has done a wonderful job making the strategy aspect feel unique and tailored for the world of Mario, and it's quite possibly my favorite Switch title. New DLC will be rolling out in the coming months expanding the storyline and co-op mode, and I couldn't be more excited to dive back in!

This title initially left me wondering whether or not it would be worth a shot. I was very skeptical of the Rabbids inclusion in a Mario game. However, this X-Com like title is very fun--my 7 year old and 10 year old love this game and I have a blast playing with them on the Switch. A word of caution, however, the difficulty spikes pretty quickly and there is a definite learning curve for the younger players, so if you purchase this for your kids and/or grandkids, make sure that (a) they are the type of kid that won't get too frustrated with a tough game or (b) an avid gamer adult is nearby to help the kiddos through the most challenging parts.
Overall, the production quality, the music, and the graphics are all phenomenal and any Mario fan should give this a try. There is also a lot of silly Rabbids humor (i.e, potty humor) throughout--I never thought that I would see Peach's castle next to a giant toilet spewing water on a Gommba's posterior-regions.... just a heads up that some might find the silly/potty humor a bit much, but my kids in particular do nothing but giggle and laugh the whole time. It's not malicious or inappropriate, it's meant to be silly, but a heads up to any parents/grand parents looking at this title.
I have noticed some chop when the Switch is docked, but it's not a major issue. When in handheld mode, it runs as smooth as silk. Enjoy!

Mario is a well protected IP, so when I saw Ubisoft was allowed to create a game using the iconic character, I figured Nintendo saw an opportunity to branch out. Turns out, this is easily one of the best games of 2017 and a great addition to the Mario/Switch lineup. Even if you're not a fan of strategy-based RPGs, the learning curve is very forgiving while not being too easy, so to offer some decent challenge later. The characters are unique, the worlds are a pleasure to look at, and as a whole this game is just one that should be in everyone's library.

When Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was first announced, I had my doubts. First, I've never really been into the Rabbids. Also, it just seem like an odd pairing. However I decided to give this game a try because I love my Nintendo Switch and I wanted more things to play on the go.
What I found was a fun and yet challenging strategy game that kept me coming back for more in order to get perfects on each battle. Sure good sign of a strategy game. I recommend for anyone looking for a change of pace and or is interested in trying a strategy game for the first time. Veterans of games like this will find plenty to enjoy as well!

I was a little bored the first time I played this, as the game wsa slow to start out when you are learning how to navigate and the rules for play. After playing is for a little over an hour it got a lot more interesting and difficult. I like the different strategy games that they throw at you along the way. You are also unlcoking things along the way to allow you to go back to the beginning of the game at different points and play the beginning levels a little differently. This is one of my favorite games now.

This game is what if Mario & Rabbid franchisee had a baby with XCOM. This is a turn based strategy game like XCOM. Each team moves their players alternatively and attacks opponents.
The variety of skills are well thought, worlds are varied. The atmosphere is pleasant and never looks dull. However openness is missing. Extra optional puzzles are good.
The campaign story is funny but nothing exceptional. Gameplay is solid if you are playing with higher difficulty levels. A must play for strategy lovers.

When I first heard about the crossover of Mario and Rabbids I automatically dismissed it as being a cash grab and a waste of my time. After more game play was leaked, I slowly began to get interested and then I finally decided to give it a try.
The game is a surprisingly fun, with elements of Xcom/Advance Wars/Fire Emblem all together. It's a turn based strategy game that offers unique game play (such asusing teammates to get to farther or higher locations). Give it a try! It might just surprise you.

It’s a great game, when you first start playing it, you can’t help but think yourself, “I can’t believe I wasted my money on this”. Give it about 15 minutes and you’ll be hooked. Very engaging puzzles, and gameplay requires deep strategy often requiring you to think 10 to 15 moves ahead to become proficient. But the game itself does a great job of easing you into it from beginning to end. Not nearly as complex as something like World of Warcraft, but just the right amount of customization ability.

As someone who was hesitant to pick this game up because it had rabbids in it, this game has been a wonderful surprise. I originally bought this game because I travel a decent amount, and the game good very positive feedback. I was hooked on this game in the first 10-15 min of game play, and it has only gotten better since. The atmosphere, and level design is fantastic. The combat is fast, fun, challenging, and lets thank whoever made a fast forward button to speed up enemy turns. The skill tree, new characters, and weapon unlocks are all motivations to help keep the game fresh, even when you are grinding. The story is charming, but with nintendo doing so many mario games it is growing more difficult to create all new villains, and the rabbids aren't really villains on their own. Only aspect I dislike is that when you aren't in combat you are lead by a new character called "beep-o" and your party follows behind beep-o in a conga line. It can look a little funky to me for some reason.
Overall this game has been fantastic, and I can find very little to complain about. In my book this is an essential game for anyone who own's a switch. Highly recommend.

While I enjoyed Mario Odyssey, I'm not the biggest of Mario fans. I'm also not a Rabbids fan. However, the gameplay really shines in this game in a category that Nintendo is typically sorely lacking in which is the turn-based action RPG. Most compare it to X-COM which is a pretty fair assessment, but with more cuteness and Mario goodness. Overall, I would say it's a must buy for Switch owners, which really Zelda and Odyssey are the only other games on that list.
If you don't own this game, go get it. It's not for everyone, but I think most will find it to be quite entertaining.
