Fun For Multiplayer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The latest in the Mario & Sonic series. There are fun game modes like Soccer and Track and Field, but the matches end up being too short, and replaying a game requires you to reload the event. So if you want to beat a high score, expect to waste time reloading everything. The presentation is fantastic, the music and sound is fantastic, and the graphics are really good. There are a lot of things you can collect and interesting trivia from different countries. There is also a unique online mode that has you play against Time Attack style ghosts. 3.5/5

Great game, my kids love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Has some new elements not in the previous games, but also took out a few things. If you enjoyed the old Mario and Sonic games you will enjoy this. The graphics are incredible. No motion control like the previous games. Requires the gamepad and 3 wii remotes for four player local play.

This game has made my kids fans of the Olympics!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have twin 5 year old boys who love Mario and Sonic. This game has also made them love Olympic sports! It's been great to see them get interested in the games and ask questions about the sports being played and athletes playing them! Good graphics, relatively easy game play, all in all a great purchase!!!

Good, but...not enough
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really liked Mario and Sonic at the 2012 Sochi Olympics, so I had high hopes for this one. My biggest criticism is that there are no "dream events" in the Rio version like there were in the Sochi version. Fewer events for the same cost. Kind of felt like a college student who rushed to finish a paper the night before it was due, just to be satisfied with a B. All of that said, the kids love it and enjoy beating me.

Very fun game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son's favorite game right now. The games are fun to play and 5yr old son has tons of fun playing this. I enjoy it to. The one drawback is we can only play in practice mode. The Olympic mode takes you to online mode to play against other people. Would be nice to have a computer based tournament option as well, as we don't let our son play online with anyone else yet. If it had that mode would be 5 stars.

Friendly feud initiated
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game looks great, some of the controls can be clumbersome. If your friends don't play sports, then this can initiate a friendly feud.

Got my kids into the olympics
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this game prior to the 2016 Olympic Games because my kids love the Mario/Sonic genre and I wanted them to get into the spirit of the olympics as we watched them on tv. The game offers many different events that the characters can participate in, from track to archery, and even allows the opportunity to learn about other countries. My kids still play it despite the fact that the olympics are over. I think this game will hold its interest and value for some time.

Great game solo or in a group
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I played all of the previous Mario & Sonic Olympic games and was a little disappointed in them. But since I am a huge Super Mario fan I decided to give this game a shot. This game is by far the best in the series. The games are challenging, but fun! The controls are tough at first, but you can learn them by practicing. Great game to play by yourself or with friends. Can't go wrong with this game.

Rio Gets Great Review
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought Rio Olympics for a wonderful experience with the Mario and Sonic characters, battling in events, tournaments, and items to wear for my characters. This game has great strategy, which is far better than the previous London 2012 game.

Very Fun Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Game if you are planning to get fun with family and friends. Also when playing the first time to get the medals on all competitions is addictive. Games controls are very basic but the game concept is very fun, you can have a pretty enjoyable evening with friends and family and lots of laughs.

Great Game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome game, great before the Rio Olympics start. They improve on the games and controls from the Sochi Winter Olympics video game, and make it much easier and more fun to play with friends

Average Collection of mini games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're gotten any previous version of Mario and Sonic at the olympics, you're not going to be missing out on much if you decide to skip this one. All the events are fun, but there's no story mode or such to progress through. The single player appears to be just a chain of events one after the other. You also seem to use only your Miis in these events. Perhaps this changes later on. Local multiplayer is still fun, but character improvements revolve around unlocking new outfits, which seemed odd to me.

Fun game for the family
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this game for my son's birthday. It is actually more fun than I thought it would be. There are different games, some easy enough for me to play with him.

It's okay
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's what you'd expect from a Mario and Sonic Olympic Games game. a bunch of simple mini games that are fun to play. This is my first time getting a game in the franchise and i liked it, but it's not the most spectacular thing in the world, great and simple for kids and adults (as ANY Nintendo game is), but the big drawback is that this is definitely a party game so i'd steer away of you plan on playing alone a lot.
