It's fine. Single player is much harder than you think it will be, and the story mode can get frustrating when a single match lasts 30 minutes, just to redo it if you lose. Maybe multiplayer is where the best experience is, but i play solo so i cant speak to that. Would definitely return it for a refund if i could.

It's a fun game, would be great for a group of friends to get competitive with. The adventure mode is fairly short but fun and teaches the basics of the game. The online tournament mode could benefit from some balancing, as I can easily beat computer players but frequently get beat up in online tournament play.

Great party game. 4 players can play at once in one tv so it grate for when you have people over. Easy to play and fun for all ages. You do need 2 extra controllers to be able to play with 4 players.

This is great multiplayer game to play both locally and online. While the amount of content was light at launch, the game has improved tremendously since then. Pick this game up if you want a game to play with friends for a long time.

I found the multiplayer aspect of this game very fun and Challenging. I especially enjoyed playing it with friends who have been fans of the Mario tennis for the past two decades. The single player effort was also appreciated, even though it was lacking. It reminded me a bit of the GBA days.

Bought this for my sister for her Christmas present. She loved it, and has played it numerous times now with her friends and boyfriend. She has said that it's kind of difficult and she's 20, so just a heads up in case you're getting for a younger crowd.

This is a pretty fun tennis game. I think if you have online or people at your house to play multiplayer you will get the most fun out of it. The single player is a little bare bones but still some fun to be had playing single player but playing with friends is when it shines.

This is a surprisingly deep game for something with “tennis” in its title. There’s lots of customization options, and the gameplay is actually quite nuanced from a controls standpoint. I’m really enjoying it!

Mario Tennis returns to being a solid game. Very fun! The single player campaign is a little lacking, but the multiplayer is great. And Nintendo seems set on continuing support through balance patches, so maybe they'll add some other improvements down the line.

As most people would tell you the single player mode is pretty pathetic. The actual gameplay is great and looks good but unless you play with friends it feels pretty empty with game modes plus there's not much to unlock. Would not pay full price for game.

My brother and I did not know how to play this game at all since we never played the previous versions of this title. But, the game is super easy to learn and every match is hilarious fun.

Don't get me wrong this game is great but it's to more of a small story game with more focus on the tutorial mechanics for a single player game. I have been playing through the Adventure Mode but I am having a hard time to stay interested into the story, I have been starting to skip more just because I feel like it is useless information. For any Mario lover like myself I game mechanics are really fun but to be honest I hate that there are only three tournaments.... like come on? Just Mushroom, Flower, and Star? like to fall in love with the same gaming style from Mario Tennis N64? Those are my two cents, if you have a kid that is a fan of Mario this game is for your kid but If you looking for a new Mario game to play I think you should wait for a sale.

The single player mode is quite fun but short. Playing with friends and family is great! Especially simple mode and swing mode. Wish there were more outfits, characters, stage select, etc. the game is simple and good but not amazing. 7/10

    A welcome return to form

After the colossal disappointment that was Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash for Wii U, Mario Tennis Aces a very welcome and much needed return to form for the series. It's not entirely perfect, but I would venture to say that Aces is the best game of the series since Mario Tennis for N64, which has long been my favorite. The best addition to Aces is unquestionably the new story mode, which had previously been available in the GameBoy games, but never for the console ones. I wish it hadn't taken so long, but I am thrilled that Nintendo finally decided to add a story mode to a console Mario Tennis release. I was just about ready to disown this series after Ultra Smash, but Aces has definitely won me over and made me a fan of the series again.

I had fun playing Mario Tennis. It's a great multiplayer game and the story mode is fun. However, it's certainly not an easy Mario game like most are. It will take some time to get the hang of the mechanics.

I held off on buying this game for a while, but picked it up on sale for Mario Day. It's definitely worth the play-through but after finishing the main story I didn't find much value in playing it further. Playing with my wife is fun for a little while but as far as multiplayer games go I prefer Mario Kart. Still, the mechanics are solid and follow the easy to learn, difficult to master mantra well and I definitely had some challenging rounds with the AI (but not so challenging it left me frustrated). I think this is a good one to pick up, but not one to hold onto longterm.

Mario Tennis is true to form, serving up frenetic single and multiplayer action. The online play is great, especially the tournament and doubles modes. Even the adventure mode is fun, even if it's a bit of a stretch to save the world by playing tennis. This game is an excellent choice whether one wants a family-friendly experience for little ones or a solid party game with fellow adults. My only quibble: Don't use the motion controls. This isn't a Wii game, and it shouldn't try to be. It's "Mario Tennis Aces" for Nintendo Switch, and it's yet another brilliant gem in the console's library.
