This game is great for beginners to Mario Tennis and for those with lower expectations. It’s quite a bit better than the last few sports games have been, but still don’t shine a candle to the old stuff. Competitive online is mostly charging up, trick shots, and slowing down/shooting off your special continuously. For someone with skill the characters are horribly unbalanced, with Boswer Jr reigning over the others by quite a bit. However for the casual gamer, it’s pretty fun, and a light title.

Love it. Haven't had this much fun with a console tennis game since Mario Tennis on the N64. Even more fun with friends.

Game was junk at launch, but has now been patched to include more options, etc. worth if can find on sale as I did last week.

Any game play with Mario is a no brainer. Lots of fun!!

Great gameplay, it's a fun game to play with friends and family the graphics are good. One of the best tennis games I've played in a long time. The story mode is good and the arcade gameplay is absolutely fun. The only problem is the online match making takes a long time due to Nintendo online service being not up to par.

Great game. Kids love it. Fun for the entire family

I have played most of the previous Mario Tennis games, and all of them were enjoyable. This one is no different. The only criticism I have for the game is that the story mode seems to rely pretty heavily on cheap gimmicks to give the impression of increasing challenge. The bulk of the fun is in the tennis matches themselves, whether vs. other players or the AI. Quick match is usually what I find myself playing the most, but the online matches are an interesting and fun way to play, too.
