one of the better franco films
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.jesus franco has made hundreds of films since the mid-sixties that even he probably can't remember all the times. unfortunately, most of them aren't very good films & many could be construed as a complete waste of time. on the bright side, this is one of his best efforts & won't waste anyone's time. yes, justine is flawed & inconsistent as one might imagine but still worth a look. if you can imagine walt disney & marquis de sade comparing notes for ideas on possible screenplays, the results would be as uneven as justine but still likable nonetheless. the performances range from average to good & some of the dialogue is a bit embarassing at times. aside from that. justine is overall a great story if not a slightly bent coming of age story. justine ask the age old question that many have had to face in their lives. if the chips were down & you were struggling, would you rob someone else of everything they had to get ahead or would fall victim to scoiety and all of it's unruly inhabitants.
