I had full faith in the IP67 water-resistant rating, but the moment I sprinkled water to wipe out the dust, one speaker gave out. I didn't even bother returning it because I ordered it online and didn't want to hear any nonsense about how they can't return a damaged online order. Overall, the speaker is amazing, but just don't pour water on it AT ALL like what my stpd @## did

Hello there, thank you for your review. A little but of water shouldn't be an issue for the Emberton II. We hope you will reach out to the Support Team for assistance, you can reach them through the official online store. Be sure to include the proof of purchase for the speaker.

Doesn't work with Android 14

Garbage. I had a Google Pixel 6, and none of the Marshall android App features worked. No tuning, no sound adjustments, equalizer, treble, bass, nothing. You just have to use Bluetooth to pair to the speaker with no use of any of the advertised features.
All you get is volume control.
This is a known issue, and when you open the app, you are immediately notified of issues with Android 14. The very newest version of Android that was released on October 4, 2023 will not work with this speaker. Nowhere in the product listing do they share that they know about this issue, before you buy. They wait until after they have your money to reveal this crucial fact.
Is there a firmware update? Are their developers working on it?Nope. They do not care.
I just got a Pixel 8a, and it refuses to pair at all. Pricey Bluetooth speaker and it's basically a paperweight.

Hi Austin, thank you for your review and feedback.
About Android 14: it is true that it is problematic, but the fault is not with the Marshall app. Android 14 is not able to run both classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth LE at the same time. In order to connect to the headphones and the app, your device will use both classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth LE. The issue has been identified and the expectation is that Android 15 will resolve this issue. It is unfortunately out of Marshall's hands, it is an Android 14 limitation.
We understand that it is frustrating and apologize for how it has impacted your experience. Have you been in touch with the Marshall Support Team? It is possible to use the speaker without the app, they can guide you through the process.
We hope to hear from you soon, we'd love to get you enjoying the new speaker as soon as possible.
Kind regards, the Marshall Team

Much better than Emberton 1. Same design and marketing so be careful to ensure you are purchasing the item you want as prices are the same even though this has app connectivity and Emberton 1 does not

HI Robert, thanks for your review. Android 14 isn't able to support a Bluetooth connection with both the app and the Marshall product at the same time, however, this issue was fixed in Android 15. If possible, please update your Android device to Android 15 to be able to enjoy the full experience of the speaker and the Marshall Bluetooth app.

If it had little more bass it would be perfect. But for podcast and and heavy vocal base audio it crushes.

For a smaller speaker this thing does what it needs to and does it well. Is it going to have booming base and mids? Probably not, its a very small speaker and your standards are more than likely extremely unrealistic. Plain talk : for what this product is it does a great job and is worth the money. If you only like to hear 10% of the sound of the music (the bass) then by all means look for a bigger speaker.

A few months ago one of my close relatives purchased the earlier version of this Marshall BT speaker and ever since I heard the big sound coming out such as a small speaker, I wanted to get one too. I finally got the opportunity to own the latest version of the Marshall Emberton II bluetooth speaker and it does not disappoint. It packs a solid punch for its cute size, with solid bass and clear mids and highs even at loud volumes. It paired with my phone very easily and it maintains the bluetooth connection throughout the house, even on different floors.
The design is classic Marshall looks tapping back into their guitar amps heritage with a rugged enclosure and grill. The controls are intuitive with a golden flat joystick-like button that controls volume up and down, and next track right and previous track left. If you press and hold in the middle that turns the power on/off, with a cool guitar sound.
Thanks to its small size and reasonably light weight, it’s great for travel. I can’t wait to take it on our next trip to the beach where it’ll be just fine thanks to it’s IP67 dust and water resistance rating. Battery life so far is great and when listening at lower levels it should exceed 30 hours when fully charged. The quick 20-min charge will get you a few hours of listening pleasure. All in all, this is a great sounding compact and stylish portable bluetooth speaker.

Hi Sugene, thank you for your review and feedback. It's great to hear that you are enjoying the Emberton II. Stacking the speakers works well when the speakers are located close to each other in the same room and any possible interference is removed. For assistance, don't hesitate to reach out to the Marshall Support Team on the official Marshall website.

Coolest Bluetooth speaker ever

Let’s just start with how cool this speaker looks. It gives that old fashioned Marshall rock-n-roll amp vibe. It feels very solid and has a little weight to it but not heavy at all. It is also a nice size, easy to store and transport. The textured outside seems durable and it is stated to be dust and waterproof so you should feel comfortable using it outdoors. It’s not really stated how waterproof so might not want to leave in a heavy rain or dunk in a pool.
Easy setup, already in pairing mode when first turned on. I found the guitar-ish startup and shutdown sounds to be kind of neat. I do wish the supplied cable was USB-A to USB-C configuration rather than two USB-C ends since you must supply your own charger and most of the ones you have laying around are probably going to have a USB-A connector.
The sound is phenomenal with speakers firing out of both sides, it really fills the listening space and makes you think that sound is coming from something much larger. There is a built-in microphone for taking calls from your connected device. I have not really utilized that feature yet, but it seems nice to have.
It advertises 32+ hours of playtime. I’ve not done any scientific measurements but can say that I have used for hours at a time over several days between charges and have not run the battery down. The 10-bar power level is super detailed and way more precise than most other devices having 3, 4 or 5 bars at most. The red power meter stays on all the time but dims after a short while.
If you download the companion app you can manage firmware, set battery preservation, and choose from 3 basic EQ presets. That’s about the extent of the interaction with the speaker from the app. You can also find guides and manuals to many other Marshall products in the app along with a support link that just opens a web page in your browser app. I also find it odd that the app’s name is “Bluetooth” on iOS.
The only complaint that I could come up with is minor but the black embossed buttons and text on the textured outer surface of the speaker is hard to read and see unless at the perfect angle in the right lighting.
