The speaker sounds muffled at high volume. There are better speakers for the price.

I didn't know what to expect from a bluetooth speaker with Marshall amp credentials. I suppose I was skeptical that it would turn out to be a cheesy speaker leveraging the fan's brand loyalty to Marshall.
As it turns out, it is a surprisingly great sounding speaker for the kind of music I like (Indie) and how I listen to it (streaming). Even though it is thin, the closed back and four drivers deliver crisp, clean, bass and clear, but not harsh, highs. Having separate EQ controls for bass and treble helps. If you are looking for chest thumping hip-hop bass you won't find it here.
It is easily the best looking BT speaker on the market, eschewing the boxy, stubby look of most devices. The Marshall DNA is evident by the solid feel of the control surfaces and generous use of brushed gold colored metal. The matte black body and plastic speaker grill with gold piping do a pretty convincing job of emulating a guitar amp and complete the rock n' roll aesthetic.
It is plenty loud and I would expect nothing less from something carrying the Marshall logo on it. I have yet to feel the need to dime it. For those who need more watts, there are other choices like the Stanmore or Kilburn. This is the perfect speaker for me as I use it mainly to listen to Spotify on my balcony. Pairing it through the Alexa app to my Echo Dot was a breeze.
Now that retailers are starting to real on the pricing, it competes favorably with all others in its class.

Need something that would fit in the Motorcycle saddlebags for trips. Charge lasted 3 days playing 3-5 hours each day at 1/2 volume. Sound is fantastic & with the controls you can make most mp3s sound very good. My riding buddies are all impressed & 1 went and bought one on his way home from the trip. Love the Marshall!

I bought this speaker based on the experience I have with the Stanmore. I was on a long trip and using my Stanmore via my cigarette lighter in my car. Worried about the extra load on my car battery on an 1,100mi. trip, I needed a speaker smaller than the Stanmore and portable. This speaker rocks with big bass and clean high trebles and delighted all that heard it. As for the price, it must be a geographical thing (I'm from NY). The then $400 Stanmore cost me $330 while on a trip in Tennessee 3yrs. ago. The $230 Stockwell cost me $115 on a trip in Tenn. in August this year, and yes these were Best Buy stores. But even at $230 this speaker is worth it and I highly recommend it.
