Got on sale, it’s a great center channel. Sounds amazing but I haven’t pushed it yet. Love Martin Logan speakers but they are proud of them, so it’s pricey. Waiting to upgrade the surround’s before I check volume clarity, but I know they are quality. It’s the only brand speaker I buy. Will be buying the 15i for the surrounding speakers soon.

Best Center Channel for Clear Treble

The Martin Logan (ML) 50xti is the best center channel speaker that I've ever heard, and I've owned Definitive Technology, Elac Uni-Fi Slim, and ML 30i. The Motion 50xti produce a large sound that matches my ML floor standing speakers. The other center channel speakers I owned were capable of producing the same range of sound, but at a different scale. The ML 50xti tweeter produces very smooth treble sounds. By comparison, my Elac center - with a dome tweeter - sounds harsh and sometimes distorted. If you can't afford the ML 50xti, then I highly recommend the ML 30i. I returned the 30i because it is too small for my setup. However, the ML 50xti sounds better than the 30i.

Pairs well with 15i or 20s as your front left/right. Same level of sound quality output. I have a 50xt in basement but over powers 15s. Both great for movies and clear dialogue. Upgrade from Klipsch speakers

Was happy to find a deal on an open box nearby. Added this to a stereo setup that was using Motion 4s to with the intention of bringing more clarity to vocal tracks during "busy" movies and shows. All I can say is WOW what a difference. This center channel matches perfectly with the Motion 4s, as it should. I've been going back and watching favorite movies all day.

    Great center with AMT tweeter

Ideally, I'd rate the motion 30i 4.25/5, considering it's bigger brother, the 50xti center, receives the 5/5 nod. I originally purchased the 30i center after purchasing my ML 60xti towers while on an open-box sale. ML is closing out this particular "xti and i" speaker lineup, so it may be more difficult to find than usual. Anyhow, it sounds really good with its velvety smooth, buttery midrange/ highs and great clarity emanating from its AMT tweeter. If you have the 40xtis and need a center with sizeable but accommodating footprint, this is perfect. If you want a bigger soundstage, more depth and dynamic and forward speaker that blends better with the 60xti's presence, opt for the bigger brother the 50xti. And to get the best sonic benefits, might I suggest you use a very adequate AVR, or better yet, an external amplifier. Enjoy!

Still going strong almost 4 years later, and I bought a used model too! This center channel has been a treat for my surround sound system. I got a great deal on it at the time. I believe it was discontinued as well when I bought it, hence the deal. Worth every penny! Going to be the last speaker I upgrade in my system.

The 30i is an impressive center channel speaker. Like other Martin Logan speakers with their folded ribbon design tweeter your treated to extreme highs that are sweet in there presentation. Dialog is super clear and never lost. You might find yourself needing to lowering the volume a tad since the sound signature is higher sound releasing crisp vocals. It's a nice size so make sure you have the room for it. I purchased the white and am extremely impressed.

The hunt started with a Center Channel speaker for my Media Room setup running Motion 35XTs for fronts and Motion 15s for surrounds. Initially I opted for the Motion 8i and was actually pretty impressed with the performance. However, after about 2 weeks of listneing in - I felt that there was an apparent lack of proper low Midrange in the 8i.. prompting me to swap it out with the Motion 30i. Initially considered the Motion 50XTi - which comes highly recommended- however, balked at the size and opted for this. It has now been just 3 days I have owned it.. and I am absolutely impressed. The Mid's and the lows are crisp and clear and the high's of-course need no mention (because of the Folded Motion Tweeters). Also worth mentioning, I do use a Motion SLM XL paired with my ML Electrostats - and I am pretty sure the Motion 30i is a much better performed and has more realism compared to that. Pros: 1. Very good response for a relatively small footprint 2. Good match with Motion series bookshelf's (35XTi's and 15s) - leads me to think of this as a good performer that can be paired well with Motion 40s or the Motion 60XTs even - though I think the Motion 50XTi would be better

This center channel from Martin Logan is the truth. Thanks to safe n sound I was able to get one to complete my setup. The 50xti is the best center I have ever owned. I’ve had klipsch, def tec and mirage centers in the past all good but the 50xti is better. Great for movie dialogue and also great for music. Highly recommend!

After many months of testing speaker systems, I decided to go with MartinLogan and I am extremely happy! MartinLogan was my first choice but out of my price range when I first started. Read my journey below for more info. This center channels delivers! You will not be disappointed. Pay the extra money for this as most of your TV will come through it and then when you watch a movie the voice come from here too and the clarity is excellent! My journey: Sonos $1800 - Excellent product and I really would have settled with the Playbar, Sub and and the Play 1s, however, not compatible with Alexa to stream in multiples areas. You must purchase their AMPs to do that and I wasn't going to purchase 2 more AMPS to stream on my deck and in my basement when I have AMPs there already and use my Amazon devices to do that. Also, my main room is fully wired for 5.1. If you don't have wires pre-run, I recommend Sonos, especially if they are on Sale. Definitive Technology - $1000 - ProCinema 5.1 Package - I bought this after Sonos and right before COVID-19 shutdown Best Buy in store purchases. This is a system, small and probably better for a kids gaming room. Not for a main living space - my opinion. Bowers & Wilkins - $1865 - M-1 and 600 Series Sub - After DT I got these. Very Nice set. The sub was too small. BB had the M-1 for $249 each and then had a sale - $50 off each but they would only refund 1 so i returned the entire set. MartinLogan - $2359 (> $3000 if no sale) - At list price this system is pricey - no doubt but when their line went on sale I jumped on it! My original plan was to get the Motion 15i for the front, Motion 8i for the center, Motion 2i for the rear and then the Dynamo 800x for the sub. Since Best Buy has a really great return policy I decided to buy the Motion 4i for the rear. After playing around with the system i returned the Motion 4i (too big for the rear with my set up) and decided to go with the Motion 30i to match the 15i. There you have it. Hope this is helpful.

Amazing center channel! Have it hooked up next to a 50xti and the 30i performs really well in comparison. Best buy even hooked it up in their Magnolia room to let me listen to it before buying it!

My previous Motion 30 had an issue and I was able to get this Motion 30i as a replacement. I can hear a bit of a difference/improvement in the mid bass and bass tones paired the same great high level detail I’ve come to expect from Martin Logan’s folded motion tweeter. I’m very happy with this speaker.

We went into Best Buy to purchase speakers we had already pre-determined based on online reviews etc. After consulting with the sales rep in the Magnolia area and listening to various speakers we changed course and purchased the Martin Logan. Love the sound out of the Martin Logan and am so thankful the Best Buy rep spent time helping us select the right speakers.
