Great speakers. Wish the cones were made out of aluminum instead of paper.

Rounded out my Martin Logan 7.1 surround system with the Motion FX surrounds. Great value and a nice complement to my ESL-X and ESL-C electrostatics at a very reasonable price. Love my Martin Logans!

Excellent sound characteristics, and very well made. The folded tweeter design does a fine job with high frequencies and the bass driver is quite powerful. On the other hand, the user’s manual is the worst that I have seen, the corner wall mounting brackets are an odd design and the wire terminals are very hard to use. If not for those things, this speaker would earn five stars.

I auditioned the MartinLogan Vantage towers as well as the ML Stage to upgrade my home theater front stage. Coming from the Klipsch F series, I was astonished at the clarity in which ML speakers present instrument and voice. My main concerns then turned to movie sound reproduction which would require LFE and surrounds. The front stage was impressive as expected; however, it was the surrounds that took me by surprise. I heard sounds in the reference movie that I never knew existed. By reference, I mean comparing new equipment against my current equipment using well known video and audio media. I had to know more about the surrounds. The MartinLogan FX Surround is from the Motion series using a folded motion tweeter and 5-1/4" woofer designed to match the timbre of the ESL speaker line, too. The FX is specifically for use as surround effects speaker. The FR covers 74-25000 Hz so they are perfect for your THX reference level system. The speaker comes with a bracket for mounting firmly in a corner (my preference) or a wall. So, spec-wise, they match up with most very other dipole surround available. If anyone ever designs a clarity specification for audio equipment, then you may never have to set foot in another audio store again. For now, take your reference disc along and audition these speakers for yourself. No review will ever give justice to speakers of this caliber.

I have had these for a month now and i can say that they are worth every penny. They match up with the motion 12's perfectly and i never feel like they are being over powered. You will catch every detail in the background without fail. They are large, that is an obvious fact once you take them out of the box. But the white pair does blend in well with white walls or ceilings. So don't let the size scare you because these make the surround system! These are some of the best surrounds that i have ever heard and i have listened to alot. Pair them up with the motion 12's or any electrostat and you will be very happy with the purchase.

Size: As said in other reviews, it's much bigger than I'd expected and not a light speaker by any means. Sound: I was amazed by the crisp and quality of the tweeters of these Martin Logans. I had previously purchased the SLM XL and these FX speakers over shadow them easily. I was leaning towards the Def Tech Pro Cinema speakers, but I'm EXTREMELY happy with this purchase. So far I've listened to Spotify music - will update once I break in the speakers. Installation: Very easy and as simple as hanging a picture frame on the wall. I was disappointed the kit didn't come with screws but I won't take away a star for that.

A bit heavier than I thought, or rather had it in my mind it'd be slightly heavier than the regular Motion Series cube surround speakers but not this heavy (16.5lbs). But nonetheless these hefty surrounds mate perfectly with the rest of the Electro-Motion series line of speakers (my EM-ESL front left and right, the C2 center). Crisp and smooth and clear.

I used to have older Klipsh rear speakers, once I upgraded to these I heard sounds I never use to hear before coming from behind/ sides and I LOVE it!! Sounds supper real and even tricked my dad once into thinking it was raining outside! - I can't lie though they had me looking around once or twice too before I sort of with I went with the FX2's instead but ill be okay, the front speakers are most important and now will eventually go full out Martin Logan surround!

These speakers sound amazing. Great sound. Have a 7.1 Martin Logan system with Marantz receiver. Everything works together smoothly and sounds great.
