We picked up this film because it is one of those styled after the works of Ghibli animation. It has gorgeous artwork both in the animation itself and in the backgrounds. People familiar with Ghibli will find a lot of similarities here. However, story-wise, it just doesn't quite reach the heights of Ghibli films. The story is good, but it has a tendency to meander a bit. It just doesn't feel as focused or concise a story as one might hope for. However, it is still a really nice tale with gorgeous animation. Give it a shot if you are a fan of Ghibli films.

Mary and the Witch's Flower is a fun and creative film that also sends a nice message about friendship! The animation is gorgeous, colors pop and lines look crisp, character designs are appealing, and lsndscapes look both vibrant and lush. Blu-ray looks great and I would rate thd DVD as better than average. I can't comment on the English voice actors, but the Japanese cast did a wonderful job and voices seemed to match their looks, age, etc. Has a very Miyazaki feel to it, both dark and surprisingly cute at the same time. Highly recommended!

My family and I enjoy Anime movies from Japan and this movie is now one of our favorites. It is a movie that the entire family can enjoy! On a Blu-ray disc the audio and video are excellent. The picture quality was particularly outstanding.

When Studio Ghibli folded, someone had to take the legacy they created and try to carry on. Studio Ponoc has shown that it can with their first movie. An enjoyable fantasy that takes viewers to a magical place. The main extra is an in depth look at the pressure and determination to keep that legacy going is fascinating and entertaining. Recommended!

I'm not a big fan of anime. I like most of what Studio Ghibli has done but I was skeptical about picking up this movie. Glad I took the chance. The movie is great and I've watched it three times within a week of owning it.

Enjoy a fun humanity restoring story. Characters feel real and you come back with a renewed outlook. A few surprises remain throughout the movie. Of course there are good guys and corrupted bad guys. Guess who triumphs...

Such a cute film. The director, Hiromasa Yonebayashi also directed and or animated several Ghibli films. I saw the first release in theaters and had to buy it.

If you like an anime like Ponyo you will like this film. It does start a little slow but when the fantasy starts it's very imaginative. It is also a very beautiful, and colorful movie.

This movie is amazing with great animation and overall story. I highly recommend this movie to any who has a sense of imagination and adventure.

This movie was cute and nicely animated. Though I didn't read the book it was made after first. It inspired me to start reading 'The Little Broomstick' after watching it. :)

Great movie but felt the ending fell a little flat. However, it is a great start as Studio Ponoc's first film. Hope to see more great films from them in the future.

I really liked this movie, it's pretty much a Studio Ghibli movie, but it's not. It's not as amazing as the best Ghibli films, but it's still a good time.

Anyone who loves Studio Ghibli movies should give this movie a watch. This is Studio Ponac's first film. It a beautiful graphics with a good fantasy story about a girl who gains the power to do spells from a flower.

Blu-ray DVD. Absolutely wonderful movie. Great storyline. Would recommend it to anyone.
