Forst anime from Studio Ponco. Very nice story, but not quite a Studio Ghibli type of movie.

I avoided this at first because it wasn't an anime written in Japan but after watching it on netflix I found out it isn't half bad and well written. I would highly recommend this anime. I keep rewatching it like a favorite. I'll buy the dvd soon. It's nice companies are not making all movies 3d. Some people like the 2d animation and actually prefer it over 3d style drawings.

I don't like to dissect movies, I think it ruins them. But...you can look at this as a legacy movie. This movie, and Ponoc are about Ghibli 2.0. That's my opinion anyway. I liked this movie. But as an artist I see a studio that's off to a great start. I promise Ponoc is going to kick butt in the future.
