One of the best games I have ever played. The original Mass Effect was good but 2 is at another level. I really wanted to complete every side mission this time around and let me tell you they do not disappoint. I'm on hour 32 now and I don't think I am even close to finishing the game so be prepared to dedicate some serious time because it is loooooong. Do yourself a favor and buy this game.

Mass Effect 2 was another great chapter in the Mass Effect series. EA has improved on almost every fault the first Mass Effect had. From slowed frame rate to easier inventory menus. The graphics are great and the story is right on! The only problem I had personally with this game is the loot system...or lack of. There is no customizing weapons but upgrades are available. Don't let that stop you from playing this game because is quite a roller coaster ride! 5 stars in my book! Must have!

This game was a huge improvement over the first. Shooting feels more natural now. The storyline is BETTER. Getting to know each member of your team is genuinely entertaining. The team is SICK... The graphice were punched to the notch, as were the animations this time arouund. Within the first five minutes, there is a moment that will take your breath away. I am not done playing all the way through yet, but it is shaping up to be in my top 3 games this generation. BUY IT!!!

A great follow up if you played the first but make sure you complete Mass Effect 1 prior to starting this game, better yet level up your character prior to importing it to Mass Effect 2. Your decisions in the first have a huge impact on the game you'll play including tertiary characters who were involved in side quests show up again. The small details add to the universe like news clips in the background of things you did in the first game or missions you have completed.

Story is extremely important to me in my video games and Mass Effect does an amazing job. I highly recommend playing the first Mass Effect and then picking up ME2 to play. The stories are related and it makes the universe even more amazing. This game is huge, the galaxy is incredible and they have fixed most if not all of the tedious things from the first game. The visuals are beautiful and you really feel like you are part of a huge universe. The little bits of humor in an overall serious story are well delivered and spot on. I consider myself a casual gamer and highly recommend this for new gamers or those who are more interested in visuals and story than repetitive combat. This is my first review on here, so it was THAT good.

Mass Effect 2 was probably one of the best games that I have ever played. If you enjoy an action packed, highly interactive, fate deciding game, then this one is definitely for you. Great graphics, even better than the first game. There was so much good interaction with characters in this game it almost makes the game personal! I really got sucked into this game more than any other game I have ever played. I thoroughly enjoyed not having to sell items constantly like Mass Effect 1. Also, I really enjoyed that you just had to upgrade your weapons and armor rather than purchasing and finding tons and tons of different weapons and armor. It is really awesome that you can load your saved games from the first game and continue the story of your characters!!! The only downsides to this game were having to search/mine all the planets for resources. They need to come up with a little better way to do this for Mass Effect 3. The other downside to this game can be summed up in one question: "WHEN ARE WE GOING TO GET TO SEE TALI'S FACE!?" Definitely worth a purchase!!!

To start with, graphics are fine. I wouldn't say they are the best ever, but they are pretty decent. You've heard the story thousands of times before, a lowly solider rises up and saves the universe from evil. The only cool part about the story is how much of it is changed based on your own actions.Even the opening sequence of the game will be different depending on if you played the original and what decisions you made in that. Decision you make in this one will also carry over to the next game in the series as well. Don't get me wrong, as cliche as it may be, the story is where this game really shines. Unlike the original, this game has more of a focus on the action aspect and distances itself for the rpg portion quite a bit. You still have basic customization ability like choosing what weapons you want to specialize in, and if you want to have supernatural or techy abilities, but not much more than that. Looking at the just first person shooter part of the game, it does well, but there are other games out there that do the same thing but better. On the plus side for the game, the environment they have created is quite magnificant. There are TONS of planets to explore many of them with large cities that you can explore as well. If I were ranking this game stickly on the environment they have created, it would be easy to give this game 5 stars. Unfortunetly this game can't decide if it wants to be an action rpg or just a straight up first person shooter. Hopefully in the next instalment they will be able to find the middle ground they are looking for.

The story line is well developed and the characters are interesting. The graphics are very good and the action sequences and tasks are challenging. This game is an excellent value.

awsome game, everybody i show the game to was blown away by the graphics and story... theres no online play but story to me about 26 hours to play through... great game to kill time and its so addicting it hard to put the controller down...

I'm a gamer that really looks for a good story-line to enjoy a game. I would not recommend playing this game without playing the first mass effect or you be lost as to why everything is happening. The story was great in this game and it certainly kept me entertained enough to play a second walkthrough on Insane mode which was tough. Play this game and you really wont be disappointed as long as you pay attention to the story.

I absolutely love this game like I loved the first one. I played through the first mass effect and I found it immersive and quite fullfilling, It was and still remains one of my favorite RPG's ever. The focus on the first was more micromanagement, while this one has more action. I wasn't sure whether I would welcome the change, but it wasn't long before I was drawn into the game and dropped all pretense. The bottom line is, this is one of the greatest games ever and I can't wait for part 3!!!

Mass Effect 2 is a great sequal to the original game. Interesting story line and great characters. Gameplay is great as was in the original. I am looking forward to Mass Effect 3

This game picks up 2 years after the end of the first game, and just keeps going. Mass Effect 2 pulls the player in and makes them feel like part of the story, regardless if they imported a Mass Effect 1 character. The bulky weapon upgrade system is no more, and the search for minerals actually has a purpose. If you played through the first game then you will really appreciate the time and effort Bioware has put into fleshing out the backstory, and revealing information that was touched upon the first time around. Overall, this is a great game that will satisfy casual players to seasoned gamers. This is a must have!

This is the first Mass Effect game for me and I love it! The storyline is intriguing and the action is top notch. I will definitely be getting Mass Effect 3 soon.

When playing I suggest you go full paragon or renegade for conversation options. Hint paragon on top, renegade on bottom, and neutral in the middle of the wheel. Also your triggers, paragon on left and renegade on right, you will see. You copy will come with a code for the cerberus network with free downloads, but you have to sign up for an EA account or just pay for it on the marketplace. I could play tis game all day. It is hard to stop playing this. Things you did or did not do in the first one are heard over the news. You may want to play the first and keep you saved games and import them into this game.

This game takes everything that was good in the first game and makes it better and everything that wasn't so good in the first game and removes it or changes it. The textures always load properly now, the music continues to be top notch, and then combat system has been streamlined and improved. You have fewer powers this time, but each class has a unique ability that keeps combat fun. Your squad mates AI was definitely improved and you can now give them commands easier. The conversation system returns with the added bonus of renegade/paragon interrupts that break the flow of conversation in favor of direct action. Also, no more Mako. The story is fairly linear but interesting, and all of the characters, new and returning, are interesting and engaging. That said there are a few things I didn't like. The story is shorter, but that may lend it to more replays, which is something you'll definitely be tempted to do. The planet exploration sequences have been replaced by planet scanning/probing and the occasional "N7" mission. Overall its better than the Mako, but the scanning can become tedious and there could have been more N7 missions or tied them into the story better. The clunky inventory from the first game is gone, but the replacement seems a little bare. More types of guns and armor would have been appreciated, and all the bonus armors lock you in with a full helmet which means you can't see Shepard's face, which is bad since he/she has some very interesting expressions throughout the game. Overall ME2 is an amazing game that is worth every penny and hour you will spend playing it.

I think Mass Effect 2 continued right where the first left off. the fact that you can import your character and the choices you made impact different story lines in the 2nd game is a great feature. The game looks amazing and there is a lot of depth in the side missions as well as searching for minerals for all of your upgrades. You can play this game 15 times through and find a different story twist to make each time unique. I definitely rate the replay value as high and look forward to Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect 2, it has a great story that you get to creat while playing. Great graphics and sound effects.
