The story changes with every decision you make. You can choose to be mean and nasty or nice and friendly. Either way, the main story continues but the alternate missions change. The game grows with you, the higher your level, the harder things are and the more rewards you get, no matter which mission you're on. It's not a game you can finish in a day, but a week is not out of the question, depending if you stick to the storyline missions only. I'm on my second time through it and it's just as fun as the first time.

Great game for rpg and action fans. Take your time on the first area understanding the controls....you really need to give it a chance , dont be impatient with this one. At first i was on the wall with Mass Effect but playing it for the 1st 3 hours i understand the mission and control aspect of the game.Graphics are great but alot of choppy'ness and when loading a game give it a second to render.Great gaming experiance overall.

even if you aren't an rpg fan i would definitely try out this game. the gameplay and action are geared a little more toward the casual video gamer fan. don't be turned away because of other rpg games. it is definitely an upgrade from any rpg that you can play on the computer right now. just take a look at cod 4 graphics and imagine this game.

This is a great game it is unlike anything i have ever played before it is like a cross between halo and gears of war!! it is a great blen of RPG and shooter games. If you are a fan of knights of the old republic you will like this game. It is very detailed and it is a good length the game runs very smooth except for the over lengthy elevator rides that would be the onlt flaw in this game!!!!

Lets start at the Cons, and a complaint that i heard a while ago. First, the complaint, that the combat on this game wasn't very intense on tacticly oriented, that is because it is not a highlight of the game. The game is meant as a story driven experiance, not combat intensity. The only 2 Cons i had were loading screens, self explanitory, long waits. The other thing was the main missions, if you choose to follow the main missions, they seem unclear as how to actually finish them. Now, onto the good part. The game itself, all around, is one of the best I have played to date, not for combat, not for action, but for the story. It was, pardon the cliche, "gripping". I definentely want to see it through to the end. Another good part is, you dont have to follow a set coarse of missions like in most other games. That is because it is an open-ended freeform type game. There is one main story, and missions that follow it, yet they are supplemented by countless smaller missions of varying difficulties and rewards, basicly, your free to follow whatever path you wish, and everything you do will add to the bigger picture. For example, everything you do will have an effect on the game world some way or another. Overall, amazing game, definently worth the money. Entertaining, gripping, awesome. msholly

overall this is a great game, it will draw you in and it has a pretty good combat system. if you like knights of the old republic, you will like mass effect, but the only real complaint i have is that you can only play as your own character (whereas in kotor you could play as other party members), but yeah, this is indeed one of xbox 360 must-haves

This is a great game with a great story. The only downsides as mentioned above are issues with levels refreshing smoothly and some framerate slowdown. However, a game that looks this good graphically and to be this big, can expect to have these hiccups in this generation of games. It's still a great game regardless.

I can't wait Mass Effect looks SOO good. Other amazing Bioware titles have never disapointed me. Like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Repubic or KOTOR. Best game so far. If you like RPG's then this is a pretty great game. The graphics are great. However if you are like me and more into first person shooters this isn't for you. While there is some of that in this game that isn't what its about and that part of the game isn't really that much fun.

This game is awesome! Every gamer will enjoy this one. Sci-fi fans this is a dream come true type game. It has such a geat story though that I know of people who sit and watch others play it just to see how it unfolds. I don't think anybody can go wrong with this game.

this is worth the $20 price tag, i am on my 3rd play thur. graphic are very pretty when they load. but it dose have a lot of texture pop in isseus even when save to the hdd. the interplay between characters are funny, and are not to reptivet to get old to quickly.

Great game with nice long story line not a renting game but it's worth it action is nicely paced. This is a very good game, definitely a must buy for RPG goers. Though I recommend you get Component cables if you have an HDTV. Otherwise the graphics looks really grainy and, at times, can give you a headache. Other than that, it's a pretty nice looking game with some memorable moments.

Once you beat the game you can go bakc and reuse your old statistics, which is defintley a good thing. The depth of this game is amazing. I heard it took them 5 years to make this game. I can see why. This one will keep you busy for a while, if you like to explore it all(like I do).

Mass Effect only being 30$? wow i remember playing and buying this when it came out. The game was one of those that surpassed even Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic. The storyline is pretty decent in terms of future war. The graphics are great and can blow u away in some areas. Gameplay is just fun...i have never had so much fun using an Assault Rifle as a weapon. Leveling is fun in the game probably one of the reasons it sells so well is because the games mostly flawless...u can choose the way people will die or if they will continue on with u or not. Lets just simply put its also got one of the best villians ever in history of gaming...Saran or however u spelt his name. This game is worth the 30$ u will not be mad at this purchase

This is such a great idea behind a game...combining the whole thought behind an rpg and a fps should be done more...although i think that there should be more choices as to where to can take your beginning char

If you own a 360, you need to own this game. No doubt about it, this is one of the better games to come out for the system recently and lives up to Bioware's reputation of churning out quality game titles.

This game has a great storyline and really good acting that draws you into the game. The action shooting sequences are fun, but the targeting system is really not very accurate. The FF and MF "love" scenes were somewhat unexpected for a game, so be warned.

When I got this game I was really exited! I put it in and couldn't stop playing it! I bought the game for only $20 too. There are a few glitches, but this is still a fantastic game all around.

As soon as I started playing Mass Effect, I knew i was in love. Even if you choose not to do all the side missions, some of which are incredibly entertaining, you still get hours of action.
