Right Audio Format + Right Audio Source = Bliss

1. A wired connection is best here.
2. Also, the device it is plugged into should have a good DAC. Get an amp if you have a bad phone, or tablet, laptop etc... The audio file should be high quality. Jumping through a Youtube playlist is no way to test this speaker.
3. If you want quality output. Plug it in, don't go wireless.
4. Put this device on a surface that won't soak up sound.
5. Pony up and buy two cores, or two raDs and the sub. It is powerful, but you can get crazy sound in a small package for half the cost of a legitimate sound system and without all of the wires and stuff.
That is my take.

I read on Mass Fidelity's website that the Core speaker replicated stereo sound out of a small box but quite frankly, I did not believe it. Now, having received my Core and Core Sub, I believe! You can clearly hear the left and right speaker in songs with stereo separation. It's great fun to have my friends come over and listen - they think I am playing my old tower speakers but I'm playing my Core! So cool.

Terrible Sound

Very thin sound for the price. Considerably worse than Sonos Play 5, even when playing their recommended tracks (Pink Floyd's Money) in the ideal room environment. Such a cool idea, but the sound quality just doesn't cut it. I'm packing it up and returning to Best Buy. Save yourself the hassle.
