I really enjoyed watching this with my friend. I got it as a gift, and he loved it! We watched it, and it was a really good movie. I think I made an excellent choice in gift-giving.

Good movie, I know it's only a movie but brings to light some of the conditions that sailors of old went through. Iron men and wooden ships. Russell Crowe does a good job in this one.

This is a great action movie. They do a good job developing the characters and they have a believable plot. The movie had us on the edge of our seats at times, sad at times and laughing at times.

This is I did my favorite movies of all time. The chemistry between the doctor and the captain is great. If you love war movies you'll love this one. Also the soundtrack is very good

For anyone who enjoys a good military flick then this is a must see. Well made and cast, this movie explores an era of war that you don't get to see in any other film.

What a great movie, especially to have on blu-ray now. The ocean scenes are so much better. If you have a chance to buy this movie, I would say yes.

The bass of the cannons show off your subwoofer splendidly. The story is really good, and the acting is very well done. I highly recommend this one.

Great adaptation of a very popular book series. Russell Crowe brings a gravitas to his performance and Paul Bettany is wonderful as the doctor.

This is more of a serious version of Pirates of the Caribbean. Big production, stunning visuals, and interesting story. Overall excellent quality on Bluray.

Good story and script....acting was pretty good and the action was great. Thought would miss not being Blu-ray, but it was nice on regular DVD.

I think the picture quality and sound quality is much better on the blue ray. They did a good job making an enjoyable movie even more fun to watch

Everyone should have movies like these in there collections. Russell Crowe is a wonderful actor just like Tom Hanks and Anthony Hopkins.

One movie out of a series of books by Patrick O'Brian great action scenes. Wish they had made several more films. This is one of my favorite movies.

"...when ships were wood and men were steel.." Incredibly difficult life. Wish more of these vessels were still around, they are works of art.

the sound and picture special effects the navy action scenes from that era was nothing short of spectacular would recommend this movie

I use this movie to test out my sound quality. I believe the Blu-Ray disc is a little better then my DVD copy.

Master and commander is one of the best movies. Great action, adventure and ships.
