It's not Danganronpa 4, but that's not a bad thing

You can't mistake this as anything other than the Danganronpa team's next series, and that's a great thing in my opinion. Rather than contriving some hackney reason to stay in that universe and inevitably selling a few more units at the cost of their sanity, chances were taken and the results are pretty dang entertaining. No Danganronpa experience necessary to enjoy this one, but if you're a veteran of the series the tone, art, music, all just fit like a glove.
Listen, I'd love Danganronpa games until the heat death of the universe, but this is hardly a poor substitute. There's plenty of differences to make this a new series with the same elements that made me love that series so much. To me this is a can't miss and I recommend it to those looking to scratch that itch.

So, usually I dabble in this genre. Danganronpa, AI Somnium Files, Ace Attorney, etc. But none of those games have grabbed me in the way Rain Code has. The production values are so much higher than I'm accustomed to for games like this. And the prologue mystery was intense. Like, even near the end I couldn't fit all the pieces together. But when I did it felt fantastic. I will say, the prologue dragged a bit longer than it needed, but once it was over the game really opens up. You get a freaking submarine for a base! Don't worry- it's not carbon fiber. Feels like a high budget Danganronpa with the style of Persona. It's pretty dope.
