Great true wireless earphones

I'll start with the point, if you want true wireless headphones that can do just about everything (good sound quality, ANC, microphone that sounds pretty good on calls, long battery life) these are the ones.
So, I was late to switch to bluetooth headphones of any sort (only started using them out of convenience about 3 years ago). I had been using the Sennheiser HD1s for most of this time but the neck band and the way the wires to the buds hung always sorta bothered me. As far as bluetooth headphones go, they were pretty good but there was still a significant difference (for the worse) as compared to some of my better wired earphones. This combined with my travelling more lately lead me down the path of wanting active noise cancelling, a decent microphone, and good fidelity. After much research I figured the only way I would ever know if the technology had truly progressed would be to try it.
Well, I received the Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus earphones about a month ago and I have been daily driving them ever since. I have used them for business calls while driving and talking to my wife. According to my wife she didn't hear any road noise and I sounded much clearer than ever before while in the car. As for sound quality, I have been pleasantly surprised and not had to bring out my wired headphones since! As you would expect with quality headphones, albeit connected to a phone via bluetooth, they just get louder if you keep turning up the volume, there is no distortion or crackling or pain induced by volume just beautiful clear music. The active noise cancelling is similarly fantastic for taking calls on the road. I can hear everyone so much more easily and clearly. I haven't used them on a plane yet due to the 2020 quarantine but they worked admirably while I was using my gas powered backpack leaf blower yesterday. I could still hear the blower faintly but I was amazed how well it cut the noise out. Honestly, far better than my OSHA approved ear plugs. Now I wouldn't recommend these as ear protection but the ANC certainly works better than I expected given the reviews I had read.
I like the charging case and I am yet to experience any connectivity issues. The charge indicator lights when you put them back in the case is very helpful. The pausing of playback works very well when you remove an earpiece and it detects when it is put back in. In the picture of the ear side you can see the 3 metal pads used for charging and the 4th optical sensor that detects when they are placed in or removed from your ear. When I take them out of the case they are automatically hey areed to my phone before I can even position them in my ear so it may as well be instant. The case keeps them charged when I'm on the road for a few days and the USB-C charger connection means I only need one charger for my phone and earphones.
I can also say they stay in place well and are very comfortable. They may not work for jogging but I can ride a bike and hike just fine with them without having them fall out. They are also low profile enough that, as a side sleeper, I have even fallen asleep while wearing them and didn't have any discomfort.
My one and only minor complaint is that I have small ear canals and only like memory foam ear tops, I get really sore ears with silicone for some reason. Well, the ear tube on these is slightly larger in diameter than all my other earphones/buds so I had to order particular ear tips that would fit these properly and fit in the charging case. If the ear tip is too long it will hit the bottom of the case and prevent it from closing and thus charging. This will happen if you like the longer style silicone tips or even regular length memory foam tips. I found the Comply TruGrip tips to work well since they are actually designed to work with these (they are stubby and have a wider fit tube). I guess there is always the option to remove your tips whenever you need to charge the earphones and keep them in the pouch that holds and protects the case from scratches.
Regardless, as someone that appreciates good sound these inconveniences are well worth it. Also the added benefit of ANC and convenience of true wireless is well worth it to me, though they are not inexpensive or affordable by any stretch of the imagination.

They work really well, the look is nice. The sound coming from them is great. My main problem is with the stainless steel case, I get fingerprints or smudges all over it. Another case I have for different wireless earphones gets oil from my fingers on it so fingerprints isn't as bad to me. It was also difficult to pair them separately to my phone. They enter pairing mode when you first remove them, they only show as one earbud, then I disconnected them, entered pairing mode and only then could I connect the L earbud separately from the R earbud. This is the first pair of earbuds I've owned or heard of that each can be connected separately. I'm nitpicking the small stuff but overall they are great earphones.

The style and design of these earphones really snagged my attention. I loved the tortoise shell design and the metal case is gorgeous. I read some reviews and they said that the case is a finger print magnet…Well so are my glasses, cell phone, watch face ect ect. It just takes a second to wipe them off and the case is a beautiful conversation piece on my desk. It also comes with a small cloth bag to keep it safe from scratches and a black box that can serve as a case to keep the headphones, case and various ear pieces in it if you wanted. Again the case is so beautiful I prefer to leave it on my desk. The fit is very comfortable and with a bunch of different size tips it was easy to find just the right one. I started with a large size…IMPORTANT NOTE: At first I thought the trebles and mid-tones were amazing but felt the bass was just so so and was a little disappointed. Only after going to the XL size did it all come together and really deliver the amazing sound that I was hoping for. The XL size for me allowed for a much richer bass that was very well balanced! It was the clearest mid-tones and treble plus solid bass performance I have heard including my AirPods 2. Just fantastic! They are also very comfortable in case I forgot to mention that.
Once I got the right size ear tips selected, it was time to choose a wing that helps keep them in place. I was afraid that the wing was going to be hard plastic but it is very soft and supple like the ear tips. I did not need the wing to keep the earphones in my ears and actually found it more comfortable with out the wing. I do not plan on using these earphone for vigorous exercise and might reconsider using the wings if I were. They are water resistance so you could sweat in them if you wanted. I found that for walking on a treadmill, around the house cleaning or around town with just the earphones with the tip were plenty snug and comfortable.
I listened to Taylor swift “Lover”, “All the time” by Zara Larson and “Racks in the middle” by Nipsey Hustle on these and it was amazing. I was able to hear all the lyrics crips and clean and the bass was well balanced again after I found the right size ear tip. I really LOVED these for listening to Audio books and Podcasts. The mid-tones on spoken text is warm and precise. It felt like I was in the studio with the reader or host of the podcast! Battery life was as promised!
I used the ambient sound and noise reducing features and could tell a difference but not a night and day drastic difference. To be honest, I have not had a lot of experience with noise cancelling to know exactly what to expect or compare against. I used the feature when I was vacuuming and as I said it did lesson the noise of the vacuum noticeably but did not completely block it…maybe that’s what suppose to happen. It was nice to lesson the vacuum noise though!
It connected to my phone very quickly and it’s fast with Siri. The multi function buttons worked great. The Siri voice itself was not very loud and when I tried hands free phone calls it was ok but not stellar quality hence the 4 stars (honestly I struggled with the 4 vs 5 rating on this). I don’t use my earphones for talking on the phone a lot. It connected great but the sound quality for calls and the assistant were just ok. I hope its not the people I called fault for the poor quality but I don’t think it was.
Overall I really love these earphones! The Quality sound is the big show and it does not disappoint there! Plus it packs a ton of modern style into some really incredibly sounding wireless earphones!!!

The hype might be real

I took the plunge on these very small in-ear headphones. I only have owned around the neck style wireless BT headphones previously. And these are noticably better in many ways and worse in one.
First, these are tiny and once I got the right gel fin for a better fit. These might as well be glued to my ears. I have spent the past few days wearing them for 5+ hours each day while I work in my garage making some wood projects for the holidays. Sound is great, and it never dropped audio or even hiccuped like a few other headphones I normally use. I could never get the bass quite right(maybe need better equalizer), but the sound was clean and easily able to hear the subtle tones and lyrics in the top 40 and country music I prefer to listen to. And the isolation(noise cancelling) effect is really good. Running power saws and sanders was audible but not so loud that I had to turn the audio up to still hear the music.
Second, charging these in the cool shiny metal charging box is easy as can be. I know all all these in ear headphones come with a charging container/box of sorts, but these have style and substance. The box has some heft, usb-c and closes like a jewelry box. And aligning the earphones is foolproof. The magnets almost pull them into the contacts and the lid sort of locks down to keep everything in place. A+ on the design of the case/charger.
The one Con: the price might be a bit steep for some. But as I have had them a several days now and time will tell how long I am able to keep using these great little headphones. The value might be the great sound, 10 hours of use between charges(charge contains 3 addition 10 hour sessions before electricity is needed to re-juice the whole system). And the overall premium/elite quality appearance of every part of this in-ear headphones with tortoise shell and the all metal charging case. Plus they included a bunch of extra gels to hopefully fit everyone ears and preferences.
I am still very new to using these MW07plus headphones. I will update if I encounter an issue. And I think I'm being generous with a full 5 star review, there's no half star option and 4 stars was too low. Cost might be the only issue for many. But when you look at the competition. And all you are getting in sound and build quality. These might be the real deal you need to consider.

Quality Headphones with Quality Sound

When I first opened the package I immediately noticed how great these would be, the quality of packaging and materials was like no other I have seen before. I love the metal finish of the case as well as the quality of the charging cable was surprised that they are USB-C which is a nice touch, they put a lot of attention to detail on every aspect of these headphones. The carrying pouch was a nice added touch to help prevent scratches but it's almost easier to not use the pouch since you are going to get scratches and fingerprints regardless. They are not super heavy but have a definite heavy duty durable feel to them. These headphones out of the box came with a medium wing tip and a medium ear tip. I tried that out first but noticed discomfort within the first hour and have since swapped them out for smalls all around, this has seemed to help ease the pressure a bit but I feel like for a prolonged use they still become uncomfortable after an hour or so. They paired super easily right out of the case for the first time. They seem very quick to connect when first putting them on or taking them off it pauses the music like they should, everything seems to be working as expected. They seem to fit very nicely though and I can tell they will be able to hold in place while running around, it was nice to be able to chew and wash my face with these in without them getting in the way, they are very slim, don't protrude out a whole lot and don't seem to look super noticeable inside the ear. Battery life has been a blessing to me, I never had headphones last this long before having to charge them, for sure I have no doubt these can last the 10 hours they say they will and with 3 extra charges inside the case no doubt these can last the 40 hours they say they will. The noise canceling seems ok but not that noticeable since I can still hear some ambient sounds, not sure about aircraft yet but I was vacuuming while wearing these and I could still hear the vacuum but I could hear the music very clear as well so I would say they work well. I did not like that I have to turn on the noise canceling feature each time I returned them to their case and took them out again they just went back to a default setting which is fine maybe it helps save battery life but since there wasn't that much of a difference as far as I could tell with noise canceling on I just have them off and still have a hard time hearing much ambient sounds. The ambient sound feature can be turned on or off and with it on I think I can hear a bit better what's going on around me but the seal of the ear tip just seems to block out the majority of the noise anyways so it's hard to tell. If there was no music playing then sure I could definitely hear more ambient sounds with that feature on, I just prefer it off. The sound quality of these is definitely on par with similarly priced headphones of this type. I can hear a lot of the softer tones and background additions to songs that usually can't be heard on just a normal phone speaker that isn't inside the ear. It has an all around good sound feel to it and I really love this product. Call quality is impressive as well couldn't hear a lot of the background noise from the other caller's side that I could usually hear that would have otherwise been annoying to have to listen to which is a welcome feature. Overall battery life and sound quality has been so amazing that these are worth the price my only issue I have with these is the comfort level not being as comfortable as I would have imagined they still hurt after about an hour of use, at least they don't slip out all the time like other headphones out there with no wing tips.

A few issues but SO worth the investment

I went ahead and decided to see if earphones were really worth all the hype (and the price!), so I got the Master& dynamic MW07s for a Christmas present to myself. I must first say how much I was impressed with the packaging presentation --- it was attractive and made me even more excited about the product. Sound quality is solid, detailed, and best of all the bass is the real deal. Also, I love the feature that stops the sound when I remove them from my ears!!
If I had any complaints about it, I would say the bluetooth connectivity was a little sketchy at first. It seemed to have issues if I moved my phone even slightly away from them, but I guess it corrected itself because I haven't had the issue anymore since getting these. The noise cancelling effect I don't really notice a lot.
Additional fin sizes are a big help as I was able to change them until I found a perfect fit. Also, I must say --- I love that they charge while in the carry case!
All in all, I would say these were worth the investment as they are very sturdy and the sound quality is almost excellent.

Truly Exceptional! The Plus Version Rocks!

My earphone criteria: I seek the best quality of sound, size, and features. My comments are in comparison to the following earphones that I have most recently owned: Bose QC20, Jabra Elite 65t, Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless, Apple Airpods 2 and Pro, Master & Dynamics MW07 and this new MW07 Plus version. I believe the MW07 Pluses are the best among my list.
I’ll form my comments around the few minor complaints I’ve seen, with an occasional comparison to the popular Sennheiser Momentums and Airpod Pros:
1. Sound – To my ears, the MW07 Pluses are the best of them all. First, to properly analyze and enjoy the quality of these earbuds, one needs a correct fit/seal. Explore the combinations that M&D provides and stick with the fit that seals your ear. With the proper fit, you will discover a superior soundstage, with a perfect and natural sounding base, mid and high. One complaint that I’ve seen is the absence of a graphical EQ app. Not necessary! Competing earphones do need an EQ app so that one can ‘try’ to adjust them to sound like the MW07 Pluses. An earlier review posted by JaCe mentions a background hiss on his MW07s. This doesn’t exist on mine.
2. Metal Case collects fingerprints and scratches – Though fingerprints do collect, a soft cloth will remove them. If scratches are an issue, one can use Cape Cod Metal Polishing Clothes to make the case scratchless again. In contrast, my Sennheiser Momentums have a cloth case that is now filthy and impossible to clean, and the Sennheiser case is easy to break (the plastic top separating from the bottom). The MW07s give 40 hours of listening (much greater than the 12 hour rating on the Sennheisers, or 24 hour rating on the Airpod Pros). I prefer the weight, finish, status lights, and 40 hour recharge capability of the MW07 Plus case to all others.
3. Features – The MW07 Pluses are as full-featured as any, and more than most. They will play for 10 hours before needing a recharge from the case. In contrast, the my Airpod Pros (which I like) and Sennheiser Momentums only last 4 to 4.5 hours before needing a recharge from the case. The MW07’s case is fast charging allowing for 40 hours of play before needing an electric recharge. The active noise cancelling of the MW07s is really good. Unlike Airpod Pros, the MW07s have volume controls on the left earbud. The controls on the MW07s are very intuitive. Add bluetooth 5, IPX5 water resistance, comfort factor (I can wear them forever) and their classy stylistic appearance… Feature rich!
4. Firmware – I’ve seen complaints that there’s no option on the MW07 Pluses to upgrade firmware. But then, they don’t need a firmware modification – there’s nothing that needs fixing.
I now carry two sets of earphones with me, everywhere I go:
#1 – My MW07 Pluses (for exceptional sound quality and features)
#2 – My Airpods Pro (loving the way they integrate with my iPhone)
I leave my other audio purchases (including the Sennheisers which I think to be overhyped) on the shelf.

In a mere 2 months one of the headphones literally broke into two. Now you may think that there was some user negligence that would cause this, and maybe there was, if putting it into your ear in a completely normal fashion causes it to break. Totally worthless. Before this, they were just okay. Nothing terribly special to be worth this price point.

Surprisingly Good Bass in a Small Package

This is my second set of Master & Dynamic headphones (I also have the over-ear MW65G1) so I was expecting quality. These MW07 Plus True Wireless noise canceling in-ear Headphones certainly don't disappoint.
The manufacturer's and Best Buy's write-ups cover the technical aspects so I will concentrate on how I found them and what I liked or did not like.
First they ship with a charging cable (USB-C), a shiny, stainless steel carry/charging case and different size ear buds and wings, in case the default size attached does not work for your ear size. It also has squeeze-opening, soft carry case which the buds alone as well as the steel case will fit in.
The steel case will get fingerprints and scratches on it so I won't get too attached to it's out-of-the-box state. Still, it looks good and is quite functional, including three charging lights to show the charge of each bud individually, as well as the case itself. The buds will charge when put back in the case but eventually the case needs charging back up too.
I tried the ear phones with the default wings and rubber buds and they were ok but I felt they would fall out if I did anything too active. The bass response was ok but I felt like I needed to push them in to my ears more to get the best response. I later changed the buds and wings out for the next size up which made a lot of difference. They now seem like they will stay in if I run or workout with the on as well as providing a much better response across all audio ranges, especially the bass.
The control are small but work well to change volume, turn noise cancelling on or off, connect to Siri or another assistant or cue up tracks. I find the earbuds very easy to just throw on and be listening to music in a few seconds which is great for my jaunts across the campus I work on. Other models I have would be too clumsy or take too long to get unpacked and set up so this has been a great new feature for me to use daily rather than in my downtime at home.
The earbuds look unusual in the tortoise shell but I like the look of them and it is nice that you can also get them in other colors if that doesn't work for you.
Compared directly against my MW65G1, I was surprised at how similar in sound quality they were. The over-ear are obviously better but not drastically and both had similar audio performance when tried them with the same tracks. I have not directly compared with the two other sets of earbuds I have but going off memory, I think these are much better and will likely use them instead of the other two from now on.
I think these are a good looking, great sounding set of very convenient earbuds with great audio response!

Very nice and premium pair of wireless earbuds - the case is amazing!
These earbuds are loud, have great range of sound and the bass is one of the best i've tried on a pair of earbuds. The case is on the heavy side which makes them feel more premium, it is a shiny metallic case that will scratch up easily. the light indicators for the case battery are very useful.
the fit with the wing tips for the gym is good but after a year or so of using them, the connection became rusted with sweat.
I do wish I would've taken better care of them because they sound great and it feels good to carry in hand or pocket.
The earbuds could be a little smaller (they feel a little bulky in-ear) and having physical buttons is honestly my preference but they also started to get stuck. OVERALL 4/5

Huge improvements that solidifies the MW07 Plus as the king of audio quality. I owned the original MW 07's for a year and used them daily for 1 1/2 to 2 hours in the gym. There is a review posted by JaCe, here on this thread, that does a really good job covering the upgrades so I won't repeat much. Just so every one knows, these are not 2nd generations but merely upgrades to address drawbacks of the original MW 07. My primary use of the MW 07 Plus is for workouts; 5 stars. Secondary usage, washing car, yard work, air travel - all are 5 stars. Not sure why anyone would take a star off for price. The price is advertised at $299 but yet people are still shocked. If you read the description of these earbud's capabilities, that's where reviews should begin. Some will say instead of 10 hours of battery life , you should get 15 hours or you should be able move 200 feet from the source instead of 100 ft, or the ANC feature should muffle a jet engine better, etc. Well - Ferrari would sell more cars if they just lowered their prices. These buds are high-end products but all who purchase these are not high-end appreciators. There are plenty of other ear buds that are cheaper, sound good, better range, more bass, longer battery yada yada but if you are in to high art, style, class and love to hear music the way the artist intended, the MW07 Plus will check all boxes. This $299 price point is not for everybody and neither are Ferraris. Great job Master and Dynamic on an exceptional product.

Mea Culpa

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
This review is a bit of a mea culpa for my review of the same ones, but the tortoise shell version (you can see my review on those for a more detailed analysis of these headphones). Perhaps those were defective or my expectations at that time were too high. After giving these another shot--this time in the Black Quartz version--I now have a much better opinion of them.
I still don't like the lack of an application to facilitate firmware updates, lack of AAC support, and the noise cancelling is pretty weak; but these sound wonderful, are comfortable, and have class-leading battery life. The ambient listening mode is also the most natural sounding I've heard in my use and testing between these, the Sennheiser MTW, and the AirPods Pro.
If the Master & Dynamic sound is all you're looking for, along with great battery life; I would still recommend the less expensive MW07 GO over these. But these also tack on extra features, a cleaner connection, upgraded aesthetics, and a better charging case to make the extra money worth it.

These really are the best earphones I've ever had. From the sound, the look, the fit, and the quality of phone calls, these are a cut above all others, which you would expect from the price. I tried the M&D Go version, and while they sound great, they aren't good for phone calls.
Why only 4 stars? Well, this is my second pair. The multi-function button on my first pair stopped working, so when I got a new phone, I couldn't enter pairing mode. They were basically useless. I shopped around for a while for other cheaper earphones (Galaxy Buds+, M&D Go, Jabra Elite) but nothing could match the experience I got with these. So I shelled our for another pair. There are other issues with pairing as well, as I had to perform a factory reset of this pair right our of the box because I couldn't get them to pair. Hopefully that's the only issue I have.....

Fantastic sound! While there is no app to allow for adjusting the EQ it’s not needed. Rich bass without loosing the mids and highs. Very comfortable fit. 10 hr battery life. Full adjustments with a button on each bud. Water resistant. The plus is a tremendous improvement over the previous model.

Turn on ambient sound and the left channel starts producing a ridiculously loud amount of static noise.
I thought I had the perfect earbuds when I purchased these. The ANC is pretty good, the sound quality is great. But I would have to say the build quality and the quality control is not great. While I realize my MW 07’s are quite old and the possibility exist that the build quality with newer models has improved as time went by, I don’t trust them. I have a stupid amount of earbuds as I can’t seem to stop buying different brands looking the perfect earbud. Most all of them, expensive and inexpensive, are older than my MW07s and they all still work as designed. That right there is enough for me to never buy a Masters and Dynamic product again.
PS: Yes I have reached out to Masters and Dynamic, yes I have done all the resets, no I have not hooked them up to the connectivity app as they will not connect to that app so therefore no firmware update is possible.

I have had the MW07+ for 1.5 years and mainly use them to listen to music and watch videos on the NYC Subway during my commute. The finish on these earbuds is unique, high quality and impressive. The fit is great for up to 90 minutes, and then I start feeling them in my ear and need to either remove or re-adjust them.
I am noticing the eartips need to be changed after a year and half of use.
Noise cancelling is good, and does not completely block out sound, which works when you are out and about.
Sound quality and fidelity is great and probably surpasses some over the ear headphones.
Price is high. No question about it.
The shiny charging case could be a matte finish, as I don't like flashing it around specially on public transit.

These sound and feel amazing. After changing out the ear tips and wings for one size smaller I can listen for hours and they don't make my ears sore. Both the ambient listening mode and active noise-cancelling mode with great. With Bluetooth 5.0 I can leave my phone during and walk around my house without dropping my music streaming. So far the battery life is great but I have only tested them for about 4 hours of listening so I'll have to use longer to verify if they have 10 hours as advertised.
I would recommend this to a friend

Very good sound quality once you find the right size Fit Wings(3) and inner ear fits(5). Unfortunately mine only came with 2 pairs of Fit Wings instead of the 3 shown on the packaging and website. So I’m not sure if I have a perfect fit and sharing will be limited to those with my shape and size ears.
The charging case is beautiful and provides quick charging while on the go. I haven’t tested the true limits of the battery life but I rarely need to charge my case. Even the bag to protect the charging case is sleek and chic. This is a well designed product with the craftsmanship to at least attempt to justify its price. But I wish I would’ve gotten the other pair of Fit Wings.
