This is a great series portraying the elite of British society in the early part of the 20th century. It is the best drama series I have seen in years. Once I started watching I couldnt stop. There is humor, drama and tragedy in almost every episode. You soon find out that the elite and perfect British royalty werent as perfect as they would like to think they were. Watch one episode and you will be hooked.

An excellent drama about the lives of servants and the aristocracy of a country house. While it no doubt romanticizes some aspects of the era, and the hardships endured, what is presented gives a good overview. The actors make all the roles come alive, and I found myself being sucked into their lives; cheering for some, booing for others. Maggie Smith is pure brilliance as the Dowager Countess. In later seasons, the witticisms between her and Shirley Maclaine had me enthralled.

Love the picture quality and I'm glad it's the UK Version so I can watch the full episodes. I heard everyone say nothing but good things about the show and had to watch it for myself. Now I see what the rave is all about. And you can't beat the price for episodes 1-4 in a blu ray pack!

It's a tv drama that once you start watching, you want to see more and more. If you're looking for a thrilling action, like a James Bond movie, this won't be what you're looking for. However this television drama is interesting due to the time period, locale, and customs during which it takes place:)

This series includes excellent all around - writing, acting, and production. Season 2 left a little to be desired, but the characters are so interesting that I had to watch each episode. Fine actors individually, this ensemble is top notch. Maggie Smith is fun to watch as always.

Years 1-4 were excellent stories of British class structure and the obstacles that mounted as social status and dated protocols diminished. The series was beautifully written and authenticity was paramount to being an accurate depiction of the years that were portrayed.

Picked this up for my dad for xmas day. He'd already seen the first three seasons. This was his first blu ray experience and he initially didn't get much out of it, but as he kept watching he really began to pick up on the upgrade and ended up enjoying it a lot.

I got into watching Downtown Abbey in the 3rd season. I was dying to discover how it started. So happy that I found the entire Masterpiece series. It took me all weekend, but I watched every bit of it. And I plan on watching it again!! Well worth the money spent!!

I originally intended to only purchase digital copies of Downton Abbey, but I have been so enthralled by it, that I purchased the Blu-Ray discs. I can also get my Downton Abbey fix by watching these season while waiting a year for the new season. A great buy!

If you like English actors and English customs then you will defiantly like this great television show on PBS. The casting is excellent and the stories will keep you interested enough to keep watching every week.

It took me well into the 5th season before I watched an episode. I asked my wife if she'd mind going back over them with me. I don't know what it is about this show, but I'm hooked. Can't wait for season 6.

I'm addicted to the Downton Abbey series. Rich characters, wonderful scenery and costumes, authentic, historical, interesting plots. Love the English accents (better with subtitles)!

Have already seen all 4 seasons, but wife and I want to watch it again and again. Some great actors, good storyline, and nice scenery.

I honestly didn't think I was going to enjoy this show. It has become my favorite show and I couldn't wait to own them! You have to make sure you get the UK version.

I just got the set of the first 4 season, liked them so much that I will be back to get season 5 and also when season 6 is released. Great series

I purchased season one and was hooked so I purchased this set since it was so much cheaper than buying each season separately. You will love it!

A must have for Downton Abbey fans. The blu-ray picture and sound make the viewing experience better than if you could see it in the movie theater.

My daughter loves Downton Abbey and this was the perfect Christmas present for her. She was really excited about it and ready to watch season 5!

Bought this for my mom, who loves the show. Four seasons for just under $60 is about as good a deal as you'll find for any show on blu-ray.

i was a little weary of the produce but I was proved wrong. the clarity of the sub woofer is awesome. Would recommend it to anyone.
