Sometimes I just need to put my brain in neutral, and watch something a bit different, that will bring a smile to my face. "Matilda", is one of those films. We've seen Mara Wilson in several films where she plays an amazing, heart warming young child. This was no exception. The film itself, has an cute storyline, that will make you chuckle several times. Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman are excellent as Matilda's parents, and Pam Ferris is a great "bad guy".

Movie Matilda a star's real life couple Danny DeVito and Rhea Pearlman. Mara Wilson is the real star of the movie playing Matilda. Now if anybody remembers her they remember her playing Robin Williams little daughter in the movie mrs. Doubtfire. This is a great what if movie. To think of a little girl raising herself in the age of 2 until 7 is crazy. Yes she gains Powers thanks to her mother and father's ignorance. All I know Matilda is all well acted well written all around movie for all ages.

Roald Dahl's stories are always quirky, but his main characters always have a core of strength that even they may not realize. In the case of Matilda, wonderfully played by Mara Wilson, knowing herself makes it possible for her to stand up to all the idiotic adults she runs across. When she finds a teacher who has fought the same battles, kindred spirits are born. Children will laugh at the exaggerated evil characters while cheering for Matilda and her friend. Adults will find plenty of fodder for conversation with their kids and just may remember their own childhoods as well.

My grandkids watch this movie every day and do not seem to get tired of it, an overall great movie. We put the movie on so my youngest granddaughter age two and half will fall asleep for her nap. Even I have watched the movie over 100 times and still enjoy it. Danny DeVito is great and so is the young attress that plays Matilda. It is one of the best family movies ever, all things considered.

This was such a cute, fun movie! We looked at box places, on here and on paid movie channels and could not find it anywhere! I was thrilled to find it here for such a great price! And the fact that it came so soon was a bonus! My girl is doing a dance to one of the songs in her theater class and wanted to see it - she loved it! The whole family sat and watched it together. It was a fun evening and at such a great price! thanks! We will probably watch it again in a few week

With Roald Dahl's many literary adaptations, from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory to The Witches (haven't seen the BFG, yet), Matilda, from director Danny Devito, falls in line. I never get tired of revisiting it and has only improved with age. The Blu-ray has a very nice full HD transfer with a great supplemental feature of the cast reminiscing and recreating scenes from the film. Better than a audio commentary! Highly recommended.

This is the cutest movie ever, I remember watching it as a child. This is the kind of movie that sticks with you, funny and relatable, I think every Kid wishes they have powers. I love Danny Devito and it’s fun to see him play this kind of character. Now My kids can enjoy as well.

I rented this for my daughter a while back, she loved it so much I ended up buying a copy for her. While this is more or less a family comedy based in the supernatural the movie really expresses individuality and strength in overcoming the odds. As well as creativity and intelligence. Highly recommended family entertainment, guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Grab sum food, snacks & something to drink and settle down with a blanket. My kids love this movie. For anyone who feels different, alone or they don’t feel appreciated- just know that you are special & can do anything you put your mind to!!

It's a fun movie about a girl who has the ability to move things with her mind (telekinesis). Matilda has a strained relationship with her parents that have no interest in her bettering herself with reading and doing well in school. She uses her powers in and it's got some good laughs in there. I would recommend for kids of any age.

I loved this movie as a kid and my daughter just read the book. Got the movie for her and she loves it! I'm glad to be able to share that with her and seeing the same delight I had when I watched it when it first came out.

Loved this. I have it on vhs and had watched it years ago with my daughters. Seeing it again with grandchildren was great. Matilda's antics sparked their imaginations with numerous "what if" scenarios of their own. Still on my list of top family favorites.

I had actually never seen it before, and then my girlfriend convinced me to buy it. It was a great movie! Very fun to watch! I didn't find myself analyzing it while I watched it the way I do with most movies nowadays and it allowed me to relax and enjoy it.

I had seen this move many years ago. Recently, my sister and I took my 10 year old niece to the Broadway production of, "Matilda." I thought this would be a great gift for her so she could see the "movie" storyline behind the Broadway show. She loved it as did her younger brother!

This movie is a great buy to watch with your kids or the whole family.We enjoyed watching this movie from the beginning to the end. Matilda was very funny.So glad I purchased it. Now I have another favorite movie to add to my collection. THANKS BEST BUY!!!

I remember the first time watching Matilda as a kid and hoping that at some point in my life I could get telekinetic powers of my own. Unfortunately that didn't happen but still a great movie, especially for kids.

This is a older movie that I originally saw in a movie theater and was delighted when I was able to purchase it from BestBuy at a good price so my wife, who has not seen it, can watch it anytime we want.
