This doesn't have a funny taste to it and lasts for a pretty good amount of time. The time to clean it is time consuming and that's due to the pitchers slow drip system.

It does a decent job! The water from our tap has a real bad chlorine smell and taste, this filter seems to do a good job with getting rid of that! Just wish it would filter more before it needs replaced but 40 gallons isn't to bad for what it is! Also, it's reasonably priced!
