Used the thermometer three times. No issues. Like the remote monitoring.

My old thermometer died in the middle of smoking some chicken. I needed to replace it, but I could NOT find exactly what I was looking for anywhere, including Amazon. This is a newer model of what I had except this one is wireless. I can be in the house while the meat smokes and monitor the temp. It has a stated range of 30 yards and it is every bit of that - not that I need that, but it's nice to know it works at that range. The temperature readings are correct, I verified this with an instant read analog thermometer. The price was much better at Best Buy than other places when I finally found some other online retailers who carry the same device.

Despite reading a few negative reviews prior to purchasing this thermometer I figured I'd at least give it a try. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed and should have heeded others' warnings. You'd think a meat thermometer would be built to stand up to high temperatures. Isn't that it's only purpose?? Not this one. I used it once on my Treager and it quit working only a couple minutes into my steaks. I figured it might reset itself and be good to go once it cooled down, but no, the probe was dead. I think I'll stick to instant reads from now on. Don't waste your time and money on this one.

This unit gives accurate temps. Be careful with the probes, if it crimps or gets too hot it can fail.

Maverick thermometer works great for the bbq grill. Perfect

Does just what I need it too and works well overall good product

When I first got the units they worked well. Not always easy to synch, as time has passed the remote won't maintain a connection. Last night I had them sitting side by side and they would lose connection.

The first time I used it I had my smoker set at 225 but I was getting temperature readings over 400.
