i was in the market for a quiet (low db rating) hood vent, but at 250-300 dollars didn't seem practical. i decided to give this microwave/vent combo a try and get two for the price of one. and at 299, it worked out perfect. the key is venting it outside or to the attic, it was tricky and took time, but well worth it in the end. it has 5 fan settings (off, 1,2,3,4,5). cooking using 2 rear burners at one time or baking for 15-30 minutes, setting 1 works great, is quiet (sometimes i forget its on) and pulls the heat away from the stovetop. using 3 - 4 burners or baking 30 minutes or longer is set mostly on speed 2 or 3 and the noise is still low and not distracting. speeds 4-5 are for when food gets burnt or that unexpected steam from a pot. clears out the smell/smoke/steam nicely, but is noisy, but not annoying. as for the microwave, it's a huge bonus, using it more and more everyday. mostly frozen dinners/quick meals/re-heat leftovers. i find it cooks evenly.control panel is easy to use and learn. no complaints about this product.
